Walking outdoors is part of my exercise regimen along with biking, lifting weights... but my feet and ankles are killing me after each walk. i warm up, i stretch, but after the 4-5 mile walk, I can barely make it up and down my stairs because of the pain. I've lost around 30 lbs which is 1/2 my goal. any suggestions that…

I hate to admit it but I failed myself!
I was here a few years back with my weight loss journey and lost a little over 100 lbs in a year. I went from 285 to 182 and got into incredible shape along the way too by weight training and biking. I even had my own success story posted on mfp. I was so motivated! Cut to the chase and I'm not going to make any excuse, I…

Was anyone able to get off the blood pressure meds since losing weight?
I have been on 2 bp pills for around 5 years now. before starting my weight loss journey, my bp was all over the map, even with the meds. My highest reading before taking meds was 194 / 104!!! On meds and obese, I averaged around 130-150 / 80-90.......since losing 58 lbs so far, my bp has been averaging around 105-113 / 60…

So, I went to the Dr. a year ago today and the news was terrible!
I was 100 lbs overweight, my cholesterol was high, my blood pressure was high (even with 2 pills) , and worst of all, I was now pre-diabetic. This wasn't really a shock to me, as I was on a downward health spiral for 16 plus years, with the last 5 being the worst. I was so miserable and unhealthy in both body and mind, I…

ONEDERLAND! Early 55th birthday present to myself.
This year has changed my life in so many ways! Hard work, never giving up, very strict self control, and most of all, BELIEVING in myself, helped me achieve not only this weight loss but my overall health did a complete 180. I was hoping to achieve this by my 55th birthday on Dec 1st, but I'll take this 1 month early!

Any suggestions / recipes for spaghetti squash?
I just started getting into it and love it. I've only tried it with butter, S&P and parmesan cheese. How do you like yours?

Water retention when trying to quit blood pressure/water pills
Since losing nearly 70 lbs, my blood pressure started bottoming out making me extremely dizzy and shaky. I quit both pills cold turkey to see if things would improve ..yeah, spare me the lecture on this one I KNOW I KNOW. I see my Dr in a month for 6 month follow up and labs. After stopping both meds , everything was good…

Recommendations on accurate blood glucose kit?
my A1C test last April gave me a number of 6.1, which is just at pre-diabetic. Since then, I have lost 65 lbs and see my Dr in a month for another A1C test. I would like to start monitoring my blood sugar at home too. Hopefully I am back in the normal range now! Thanks in advance.

What would or do you eat with 1000-1200 banked calories for the week?
this is what I have in the calorie bank from Sunday through Friday. Doubtful I will eat them back (normally don't)...just curious of what you would eat? Happy weekend!

Do you count mowing lawn, edging etc as part of exercise?
I'm 218 lbs and have self propelled push mower and it says I burned 545 calories for mowing for 60 min. I also edge and didn't even include that in the time. This just seems very high even though I am sweating at a pretty good clip and it gets my heart rate up, it is still not as hard as even 30 min on exercise bike which…

Any guesstimates on how much sodium is actually in a typical store bought rotisserie chicken?
the database and internet have so many different figures, I have no clue which is right? I bought a fairly small one from my store which yielded 18 oz of chicken with no skin or fat. Any ideas % averages? I keep track of my sodium intake. Thanks.

What are the first things you threw out when you started your WLJ?
Mine: snack cakes and chips/dips. It was hard but I gave them a proper funeral.

Help me with my salt addiction!
I am doing great on everything else, but my salt intake sometimes gets out of control! any and all suggestions welcome. I had a horrible high sodium day yesterday and scale says I retained 1.8 lbs of water because of it! I'm starting off the day good so far...crossing my fingers!

It's nice to be able to look in the mirror without total disgust now
this is only about my situation, don't think I am fat shaming anyone please, because I am not. I haven't been able to look in the mirror without a shirt on for years. After losing 59 lbs so far, I finally can see my old body coming back, albeit I have a ways to go but it's still a good feeling! The motivation is at a level…

For those tracking macros, what % do you have it set at?
right now I am 25% carbs, 35% fat, 40% protein....I've increased my carbs and decreased my protein just a little since I started back in April.

I've lost 58 lbs so far, and all my clothes are like tents
It's pretty motivating but I really need to get some new duds! When did you all start buying new clothes? I've been obese for so long, I don't even know if I would be comfortable in clothes that actually fit to my body! I'm a t-shirt and jeans/shorts kind of guy.
