Orange Theory Fitness Question about Zones
No way to post pics here right? I would post my results that were sent. Anyway, I'm a little bit confused about the zones. I thought it was good I spent so much time in the orange and red, but my instructor says he wants me to spend more time in the green (zone 3). Huh? I thought orange (zone 4) was where we want to be.…

Started at size 4, skipped over 6 and now I'm an 8, but not on purpose. How do I maintain?
Here is my story and I'm sure I already know the answers, but I'd still like to hear your ideas. I've been maintaining at a size 4 for most of my life, easily, definitely does not mean I was in shape, but it was easy for me to stay there without too much effort. In the last year or so I have gained a lot of weight, blame…

Wireless headphone suggestions for runners
Hi All, I'm a little frustrated. So I've been jogging for a while in addition to other various exercises. I typically use my cheap wired earbuds connected to my phone and placed inside of a flipbelt. Works perfectly, until those days I sprint. I always end up ripping the buds out of my ears. I decided to get some Bluetooth…

HR is the same on Fitbit and Polar yet calories are off. I'm confused.
So I have a chest strap monitor by Polar and Fitbit Charge HR. It seems my Fitbit is underestimating calories and the Polar is more accurate, maybe overestimating by a little bit, maybe. But the Fitbit surge is like 30% off. 600 calorie workouts with polar will be 434 on Fitbit. My weight, age etc is input into both apps…

Breaking up workout into several a day
Hey guys, So I'm getting more serious about my fitness and I'm realizing 20 minutes of working out a day isn't enough no matter what anyone says. I've been working out for an hour to an hour and a half a day. Typically the latter. I take Saturday and Sunday off. Anyway, I am soooo busy and it's getting harder and harder to…

Is there a way to turn steps off on the FitBit Charge HR?
It's the default tracker and used to rank you in the leaderboard. I don't care about steps. I only wear my fitbit for part of the day, during workouts and sleep. So I'm always at the bottom. I'm using it to track my heart rate and my workouts. I don't care about steps. Any way to turn off the steps or have it rank me by…

Help with calorie burn accuracy
I just got a Fitbit and wore it yesterday for the first time. Is it me, or can you not trust the calories burned during exercise? At noon, I jogged 24 flights or stairs along with a few squats and jumping jacks. It took me about 30 minutes. Fit bit calculated 268 calories burned. I did the same exact workout around 4 pm,…

Fitbit Calories off

T25 Alternative - too much dancing
Hi all, Can anyone recommend a program that is effective and will compare to T25 in terms of results? I chose T25 because of all the hype and reviews. From the first few days of using it, I definitely do not think it's hype. I believe it probably works if you can do it. For me the program is way too much dance like…

More than one weight bar for lifting??
Okay, before I start this post I will admit that I'm lazy. It is super annoying and time consuming to have to remove and replace weights after every exercise. I hate that part more than the workout itself! lol. My question is are some of you using more than one bar and preloading weights per exercise to save time? I've…

Sugar intake limits are impossible!!
Are the daily limits for sugar referring to added sugar only? I sure hope so, because after I eat one or two pieces of fruit and a plain yogurt, I'm already drastically over the limit. I am always over my limit. On a average day I take in about 50 to 60 grams, most of that being from natural sources. I wish they would…

What do you eat besides oatmeal
Oatmeal is so convenient and so healthy, fiber, iron, whole grains, protein.... But I go through periods where I've eaten it so often that I absolutely need to take a hiatus. What are some creative breakfast ideas you've done to get all the goodness of oatmeal without eating oatmeal?

Is anyone here following the Nia Shanks lifting program?
I'm thinking of starting it. I will be a beginner lifter.

IIFYM Protein and Water Question
The rule about 1 gram of protein per body weight is killing me. That means I need to get 128.5 grams of protein a day. I'm accustomed to hitting about 50 to 60 most days and that includes eating meat, beans, cheese and maybe eggs. Do I have to make my portion sizes bigger? I just don't know how to do this without going…

Day 9 complete for level one
Unfortunately I went on vacation in between day 8 and nine, so I skipped three days. I didn't even use the video today, I remembered all the moves it took me a lot longer to get through but I made it. I'm going to move on to level 2 instead of continuing level one. I'm getting bored.

Why the hell was day 6 so rough?!!
Of course day 1 and 2 were really difficult. Day three was hard and day 4 and 5 weren't bad at all, not easy but not bad. Today is day 6 and I could barely make it through. My body was a little stiff but not sore. I don't get it...

Nia Shanks Lift Like a Girl to start heavy lifting
Has anyone used it to start a heavy lifting program? I'm interested. I looked a stronglift, but seems I have to purchase something right away to get started and it seems like the moves revolve around the gym. All I have at this point are dumbells and a bar, so I need to be able to start there for now. I found Nia's site…

Day 2 - Level 1
I finished day 2. Surprisingly, I noticed my endurance as slightly better than day one. I'm expecting it to get better over time.

Who has to exercise as soon as they awake?
I do because I loathe exercise. If I don't force myself to do it as soon as my feet hit the ground then I will make all types of excuses and it just won't get done. Anyone else like this? Has converting to the morning time helped you to be more consistent? And what's worse is that if I don't do it in the morning. The rest…

Android App with intervals and speed alert?
Anyone know of one? RunKeeper is perfect at alerting you each interval. But it does not allow you to specify a speed. Also, if I go below the minimum speed I've decided on there is no alert to let me know that. Of course that makes sense since it does not even allow you to specify a speed. I need an app that not only…

Nike+ App Question
Just wondering if this app allows you to do intervals. I downloaded the app but don't see that option. I may be missing it. Does anyone know?

Running belts, bags, etc. What do you use?
Just curious on what everyone uses to keep their hands free during running. I need my water, keys and cell phone, but I can't stand to have anything in my hands. I do have a cell phone band that goes around my arm but that is annoying if I need to look at my phone or skip a song etc (hard to get to). For now I am…

Glute soreness and best exercises for tightening glutes?
I am just getting back into working out and I notice again, that although squats are supposed to be great for glutes, I only feel muscle fatique and next day soreness in my hams, quads and inner thighs. I feel nothing in the glutes at all. I notice that when I run hills my glutes are sore. So this is a multipart part…

Does anyone else have a violent nauseous reaction to soy
A few years ago I used to drink Atkins shakes because they were healthy and delicious. Without warning they changed the formula ;I tasted a mild difference but kept drinking. Literally within 30 seconds I was violently ill. I found out they changed the formula. Well for years I avoided soy because of this. Recently, I gave…

Exercises that work back fat
Here is what mine looks like but even worse with a bra. What exercises work that area. I've been lifting weights but when I lift I feel it in my arms not that area of the back. What type of exercises treat that area and should I feel the workout in that area like I feel in arms and legs. For some reason I think if you…
