High Testosterone in Women and weight loss?
I'm 18 and have been overweight since middle school and trying to lose weight since high school. It seems like the pounds won't come off, I've lost about 15 lbs since September. I was curious one day so I googled high testosterone levels in women and I have quite a few of the symptoms: oily acne prone skin, excess body…

Post-Vacation Weight loss
I spent a couple years eating 1200-1400 cals, stalled completely and discovered Eat More to Weigh Less. The philosophy behind it is after doing low calorie diets pretty consistently for a long period of time, it loses its effect and your metabolism adjusts to hold on to the weight, thus the recommendation of spending a few…

No progress on cut
It's been 2 weeks and all that's happened is my bloat went away and at first, I went down 3 lbs pretty quickly but now I'm one lb heavier than before I started. I set my fitbit food plan to 250 cals less than I burn and sometimes it let's me eat up to 2100 but on some of those days I only eat 1900, is that too much of a…

Do fitbits really help?
Thinking of getting a fitbit, and I have a few questions. Now I heard it tracks calories, can I average the number that I burn daily to get a more accurate TDEE? If I do cardio one day do I eat back those calories? I'm assuming it would be better than a calculator for telling you how much you burn, but has anyone had more…

The Mental process of eating more?
So I've been working on my reset for a couple weeks now, and as I'm getting to 1600 calories a day, I'm finding it tough to get up to that much without feeling "guilty." It doesn't help either that I still feel pretty full all the time and even when I'm hungry I'm bloated as well and find it hard to eat anything without a…

Is this normal?
Every time I change my routine, the scale gets stuck! When I added zumba, I was stuck for a few weeks. Then I dropped 4 lbs within a week, and after that I went from netting 1300 cals to 1500 and started working out more and on different days of the week as well. When I did that, I got stuck for a couple weeks and still am…

My Body Gallery?
I found a website a while ago called mybodygallery.com and I've been looking at it recently just to see where I stand in comparison to other women. I noticed something funny when entering my sizes and height. I'm 5' 4" and at 202 lbs I wear size 12/14 and L/XL shirts so I use those interchangeably on the site. Without…

Gaining large amounts of weight from exercise?
This has happened to me twice already, but not recently, I'm just curious. A couple years back, I tried the Atkins diet and joined a gym. I was losing weight rapidly and lost about 35 lbs. Then I got tired of the diet and started eating regularly. I also stopped exercising. I gained about 20 lbs initially, and when I began…

Building muscle?
I don't do any strength training currently, and I've been on a plateau for a while. I want to start building muscle, but I don't know where to start. I've heard countless weight-lifting techniques but I'm unsure which ones are actually effective.

5 month plateau?
It's been a long time since I've seen any significant change on the scale, and I'm stuck. I don't go over on calories, but, I'll admit, I probably don't eat the best food. Lately, though, I've been playing tennis 3-4 days a week. The only change I saw from that was smaller thighs, but that's it. Any tips you have for…

Healthy Recipes using Ground Beef?
I found some ground beef in the freezer today and I would like to know if you guys have any creative, healthy things to do with ground beef. I've already done chili, tacos, and the like so something different would be nice! Thanks all!

Are baked apples with cinnamon good or bad?
I personally love apples, and they've been a huge part of my diet since I started MFP. I read a thread about cinnamon, which gave me a thought about baking apples with cinnamon. Considering they'll be baked with butter, I was wondering how nutritious they'd be. Is it a good choice? Or should I pick something else to eat?

Sleeping Better
Call me crazy, but I think losing weight has made me sleep better. I used to have terrible insomnia some nights, where I would just toss and turn until about 2 am. Now I'm consistently sleeping like a baby, and insomnia is no issue. I also have almost no need for an afternoon nap. Has anyone else experienced the same?

Cheat Days?
So I've been doing pretty good for a while. I've never gone over my calorie goal once yet, and I decided that a "cheat day" is in order. Thing is, I might feel guilty at the end of the day :grumble: Do any of you have cheat days? What do you eat on your cheat days? Do you feel guilty about it?

Crossfit?
I would like to start strength training sometime. Howver, I have no idea where to begin. Is crossfit a good idea for someone who has never really done strength training in their lives?

Losing inches but not weight?
I know I should be glad that I'm losing inches but I'm beginning to wonder when the weight will catch up. I keep going back and forth between the same 3 lbs. (189-192) and it's getting frustrating. I haven't lost weight in about a month, but within that time, I've dropped a pants size. I shouldn't still be this heavy.

Running doesn't build muscle?
I've heard so many things about how running doesn't build muscle. I'm on week 4 of C25K and my calves are rock hard, so how is that not muscle? They definitely weren't like that before. I'm just curious as to how it doesn't build muscle. You don't see any runners with twiggy, wimpy legs.

Can exercising increase your appetite?
Today, I noticed that i burn through everything I eat so quickly. I usually eat a bagel and cream cheese with some sort of fruit for lunch, and that usually keeps me filled until dinner, but today, I was hungry before I even got home. I went to the gym about an hour after dinner (6:30?) and started week 4 of C25K. I got…

Slowly gaining the weight back?
I have a bad habit of weighing myself a lot when I know I shouldn't be, but this is ridiculous. My weight is driving me crazy. I haven't lost in 3 weeks, and I've gained 4 lbs. back (I only lost 5 in the first place). I don't look or feel like I've gained weight, which is why I'm kind of worried. I don't feel like I should…

Old Sweater NSV
Even though I haven't lost any weight recently, I went digging through my closet to try and motivate myself. I found a pullover sweater that I got as a gift about 5 years ago. It was always too tight and uncomfortable, so I never wore it. Today, I pulled it out of my closet to give it a try. Turns out, it fits me, and I…

The scale hasn't budged in 2 weeks?
Ever since last Saturday, I've been 189.6. I even tried experimenting and weighing myself at different times of the day to see how my weight changed during the day. Nothing. I was still 189.6 in the morning, before and after dinner, and before I went to bed. Just this morning, when I weighed myself I was 190.4! I don't see…

(x) lbs. in pictures
I think I'm going to create a video documenting my weightloss. From now on I am going to take a picture of myself every week until I reach my goal and post it on Youtube when I'm done. Anyone that would like to try this, please do. And if you have done it, post the link in this thread!

Can exercise cause weight gain?
A week ago, I weighed 189 lbs. This morning, I weighed 189.6 lbs. I have started couch to 5k (I'm on week 2), and I've noticed my legs slimming down quite a lot (my thighs went from 29" to 26" in less than two weeks!) and I went horseback riding yesterday for the first time in 2 weeks. Is it possible this is just a muscle…

Couch to 5k?
I just started couch to 5k today, and I just wanted to hear some success stories on it for motivation.

I Can't Run for my Life?
I've never been able to really run much, and even today, I can still run only 2 minutes at the most before tiring out. I want to be able to run a full mile without stopping to walk, that would really be an accomplishment for me. What I need to know is, how do I train myself to run longer distances?

My Very First NSV :)
So I had a uniform shirt altered a week before I started MFP. The shirts aren't cheap and are a pain to order because our first initial and last name are embroidered on them, so I tend to just get things like that altered. The shirt fit near perfect, it was just a tad tight when I sat down, you know that weird little fat…
