Keto and eczema
I have psoriasis and I also have eczema. The psoriasis pops up in different places than my eczema does so I know this is not a psoriasis flare. I restarted keto the first week of November and by the end of November I had really bad eczema just on my lower legs (from knee to ankle on the front of my legs). I usually will…

Took a break but back
I was pretty active here until almost 2 years ago when life got crazy, I fell off keto hard and just had to work to survive the craziness that my life had become. In November last year things settled and I picked keto back up and have lost 40+lbs since. Last time keto was a chore this time I've done it for long enough that…

I think I broke my stomach
So I was doing great chugging along on keto. This week serious stomach issues have hit me, every time after I eat I get severe sharp pain on my right side. Eating slightly higher carbs seems to help, eating higher fat definitely makes it worse. The pain is pretty sharp (I'd say a 6 or 7 or so on the 1-10 scale) and enough…

Question for the ladies
I haven't been on keto too long so this is my first PMS week on keto and the cravings and absolute desire to eat - specifically extra pepperoni pizza, carrot cake and chips with dip is insane. I've never experienced cravings this strong. I'm making pizza in a mug for supper (mozzarella cheese, sugar free pizza sauce,…

Torani syrup
I can never find the sugar free syrups locally and finally decided to take the chance and order a bottle on amazon. So glad I did! I got the basic sugar free vanilla and 1tbsp in my coffee this morning made the best cup of coffee! Plus the bottle is HUGE using 1 tbsp at a time this will last me forever. Any other flavors I…

Again with the calories question
Sorry still wrapping my head around this....it's hard to get rid of the old ideas. When I look at my weekly calorie intake I am significantly below the level MFP has set for me (a bit under 2200), most days I'm between 1600-1800 - total not net. For years I've been told (through WW and other diets) that I need to eat…

Living it up for 2 days
Now my stomach is reminding me why I'm doing this. Don't regret my choices because I need a few of these "cheat days' to make this work for a long time ...but ready to be back to keto tomorrow. I'll be interested to see how long it takes me to get back to ketosis this week.

Hungry day
Usually I pack two snacks, sometimes I eat one sometimes I eat none - rarely do I eat 2. Sadly today is a hungry day and I ate both snacks with my lunch and I'm still hungry. As soon as school is done I'm heading to the grocery store to get some cheese and salami to kick this hunger in the bum. I am working hard to resist…

Favorite Keto supper?
I get stuck in ruts easy with food...mostly because I like how easy it is to track the same thing over and over. Looking for more creative meal ideas. I eat eggs a lot for supper because they are so easy My favorite meal right now is stupid easy. 2 or 3 eggs fried in 1 tbsp Kerry gold topped with 1 oz feta, a small…

Fixes for low macro days?
I sell Usborne books and had a vendor event today. Brought a coffee with cream and 1 splenda, and threw a few slices of salami and a cheddar cheese stick in my bag in case I got hungry. Here it is 3:30 and all I've had is the coffee, cheese stick and 1 slice of salami and I have no appetite. On top of that I let my oldest…

Protein question
I've been off on my protein goals lately (as in low) - is that a serious problem? For example once MFP adjusts for my activity today (which I never eat back) it says I should be eating 221 grams of protein today (which seems INSANE to me). I only had 78 grams. My macro % are still in the right proportions though. Part of…

Heartburn
So the last two days I've had heartburn awful. I've taken probiotics, with higher fat meals I'm using digestive enzymes..what else can I add. I'll take a heart burn pill when it gets really bad but I'd like to figure out how to make this stop without using meds all the time. It always seems to happen in the late…

Full day of eating
Anyone interested in posting pictures of each meal at the end of the day for a full day of eating thread?

Supplementing
I dislike taking daily multi-vitamins, the only things I can see that they do is make me pee neon yellow. I have continued to take a Vitamin D and Vitamin B supplement as I do have a deficiency in both. I also take MagCalm some nights. Right now I just use the Rite Aid brand of most vitamins, but I do realize that there…

First Keto restaurant excursion
Today I treated myself to lunch out alone before a high anxiety dr apt. I went to my favorite burger place (Elevation Burger) and had planned on ordering with no bun. Got there and realized they do lettuce wrapped burgers. Two grass fed beef patties, aged cheddar, 1 slice tomato, elevation sauce, a few slices of raw onion…

Carb question
Why do some brands of eggs have carbs and some brands of eggs do not? When I read the nutritional information on the large cage free eggs I buy it says 1 carb for each egg, when I read the nutritional information on the regular eggs I buy it says no carbs. I'm perplexed -the eggs are the same size. I'm really curious…

Digestive enzymes
If those are something that helps - do you need to take them forever or does your body eventually get better at making more of them? Also I wish I had discovered these years earlier - so many foods triggered IBS for me and I'm finding the digestive enzymes to help so much in reducing the number of times it happens.

Shocked!
I started keto last Tuesday and really it's been pretty easy going for me. I was already eating low carb so this switch just meant cutting back and measuring my veg while adding fat to them and more fat to most meals. I've kept my net carbs at or below 20 most days with yesterday hitting 25 (but my stomach was bothering me…

Fats question
I've been reading up on MCT oil and want to be sure I understand it. Is it basically a more processed coconut oil with the beneficial fats concentrated? I know I don't have to use MCT oil but I'm just wondering if it is useful. For now I'm just adding olive oil and using grass fed butter to up fat in meals. So I'm just…

Sweat
I know being stinkier is normal (and I've hit that I can't use my "normal days" deodorant any longer I had to break out the "serious business" stick. Is it also normal to just feel warmer overall and sweat more?

Oh man...but a good discovery
I always pack all of my food for the day (except supper) the night before and track it. Today when I went to look in my bag for my usual breakfast I discovered that I had managed to forget to pack my lunch - but I did stop for an iced coffee this morning with cream and splenda and when I really thought about it I wasn't…

Interesting meal comparison
This is the food I packed for school tomorrow (7:15-3:15) - it's pretty egg heavy but I think it will satisfy me. One container has 3 scrambled eggs with 1/4 cup sausage and 1 cup spinach cooked in 1/2 tsp butter topped with 1 oz feta, 3 deviled eggs (pink topped square container), 2 mini kosher pickles (other pink topped…

Another newbie question
I tried the launchpad but couldn't find the answer. How do you know when you are in ketosis? Do you need to buy the strips to know for sure or are there certain "sure signs"?

Diet soda
I'm working on getting rid of it. I like various sparkling waters and they work nearly as well taste wise for me...but does diet soda affect blood sugars? Am I messing up by having 1 can every few days as I start my keto journey? I feel like in moderation as a sometimes treat there are wrose choices but I also realize that…

Just starting and I'm a bit overwhelmed
It was recommended to me that in an effort to try and naturally treat mild-PCOS (did not like how met made me feel) I try some diet changes - specifically to eat very low carb, which led me to researching the Keto diet. I had cut out a lot of carbs prior to this but I wasn't very low carb by any means, in doing research…

Flabby to Fit Support Group
I've attempted to lose weight numerous times and always struggle when I get to about 20 lbs down because it all feels like too much of a life change for me. I think one of the things I've been missing is a group of people who have lots of weight to lose (I have at least 100lbs to lose) and can understand some of the…

HRM, Apps and calories burned
I just got a Polar FT7 and I really like it, I'm a numbers nerd so it is motivating to me to have all of that data. But I'm curious about the differences I'm seeing in my calorie burn between two apps. I use Polar Beat while working out to see the graph and what zones I am in, plus I like the voice cues it gives. But I…

Kettlebell workouts
I bought a kettlebell forever ago and never used it. But I've been using it the last few weeks and I'm enjoying it. So far I've tried Jillian Michaels and found that she transitioned too quickly plus I'm not fit enough to do full turkish get ups (and as minor as it is it really annoys me that she doesn't do all of the sets…
