Low cal, low protein: Is this my problem?
I workout a lot (weights, HITT…5-6 times a week). My calories are always well below my burn . I am pescatarian and have noticed my fat is high (dairy, oils) and protein low. Everyone I train with, eat with is surprised I am so soft 4’11, 120 lbs).Thinking I need protein powder. Could this be my problem. Always really low…

Good at home plan
Sadly, I have decided my gym no longer feels safe. I have dumbbells up to 20 lbs at home and can run. Wondering if anyone knows of a good at home plan. I am using Geoff Bagshaw on Instagram- but also want to continue weight training. Thanks!

Has my trainer lead me astray?
Wondering your thoughts. I used to focus very much on heavy lifting- major exercises like deadlifts, barbell squats, barbell rows, etc I got a trainer and we are doing lots of sets of three exercises together like dB thrusters, planks, farmers walks. I was hopeful at first but I am starting to wonder. I am consistent, it…

At home, body weight workouts?
My weightlifting was going great but with covid-19, thinking I may be skipping the gym and staying in my apartment for sometime. Wondering if people have links to good home workouts. I am sure there must be a way to maintain some gains/stay in shape at home. Would love suggestions! Thanks!!!!

Weightlifting Music
I am sick of mine. Any suggestions?

Cardio before or after?
I always do my cardio before my weights. Today I did it after weights and what a difference (better lifting; higher heart rate on cardio with less effort). I was wondering what others experiences have been and rationale for before or after weights. Thanks!!!

Eating back exercise calories
I have two questions. 1. If I am at 1200 and had 200 exercise calories...do I get 1400 that day or 1200...or half??? 2. If I went over by 200 yesterday, am at 1200 + 200 exercise calories today...same question plus should I stay at 1200 on day two to try to make up for yesterday? Many thanks!!!

Do I need 1200 calories?
I am 4’11, 112lbs, aiming to lose about 10-15 pounds (fairly athletic; was my normal weight until a serious injury that left me unable to exercise for 3 years when I was 45). MFP says 1200. I workout quite a bit, but my size means I don’t tend to get many exercise calories (e.g. today: 30 mins kickboxing + hour walk gave…

Would like info about sugar and alcohol
I am 4’11, 112 pounds (would like to be 100 again), on 1200 calories (though sometimes over), quite active and am starting to think it is time to take a serious look at sugar and alcohol. I am thinking both of these could be a re-examined. Wine or beer is usually the culprit when I go over and often my sugar is too high.…

Weights: how many times a week
I used to be in good shape 5 years ago prior to a serious injury that had me unable to move for a year and in pain for 3. A couple of years ago I recovered and am really into a 30 min HITT kickboxing circuit that I like to do 5 times a week but think my body is the type that needs weightlifting to really start burning/lose…

Do we compensate for exercise?
Hello, If my goal intake is 1200 calories (I am only 4’11) and I burn 250 with exercise, am I supposed to eat 1450 that day, or is it fine is I eat 1200 or 1300? Thanks!

Eating clean? What does it really mean?
I have some questions. I am 4'11 and about 101 lbs. I could stand to lose about 5 lbs. I eat 1200 a day. Need to weightlift more (right now about once aweek...bad), but do some pretty intense cardio. I do not eat anything processed but I eat well...in that I like wine, good chocolate, cheese, sushi, curries. Most of our…

Misfit shine?
Has anyone got one? I am interested in it because I was looking at the fitbit and other things but they are not waterproof and the misfit shine is. I want to be able to swim with it so thinking it might be the solution. Yet I know it is new, etc. Anyone with experience using this tracker? Thoughts?

biting the bullet and eating more
I have been at 1200 and not eating calories back so sometimes netting 400-800. I feel like my body has just not been tapping into fat stores. So, here I go. Going to up the snacks and meals, cut down the starchy carbs and up the fruit and veg as well as calorie dense foods. Would love to hear some success stories from…

IIFYM Question
I have just worked out my macros and come up with 25% protein, 25% fat and 50% carbs. Here is my problem: I do not eat meat (though I eat fish and eggs). Many of my protein sources are fatty and my fat is always way, way too high (like 35%). My protein is almonds, cheese, eggs, more cheese....other nuts and…

Vacation tips?
I have to go to a conference for a week in a tropical location. Then I will be home for a week and a bit and then going to Portland (land of the best happy hours ever!) for a week. I have decent gyms in both hotels. I have worked very hard to lean up this summer and I am a bit worried that it will all be for naught by the…

IIFYM question
My fat is always high...even the blood tests from my doctor says so....but it is(dr. confirms) the good fat. (e.g., I eat a granola that is high in fat because of sunflower seeds). Is this good fat still a problem? And how can I keep my protein high when I don't eat meat...but still keep fat low (I get a lot of protein from…

Is it me or my macros?
I have been at it awhile. First I was told I was not eating enough. I upped it and have been doing heavy lifting and keeping my calories right. but it strikes me that weight and calories are not enough. I am guessing I need less fat, more protein (my diary is open). I have been topping up the calories with fat I guess. I…

Protein power advice
I have decided to track my macros. I think my fat needs to come down and my protein needs to go up. I don't eat meat but I do eat fish and eggs. Much of my proteins comes for those and cheese and tofu, nuts, etc. Given I want to up protein and lower fat I am thinking of getting some protein power. Any guidance?…

Eat Dairy Queen...lose weight?
Curious question: I was not getting enough calories. Not coming close to my 1200 and adding my intense workouts was making my net intake really low (300-500). Been boosting up and eating more. This has worked, losing weight and feeling great in my workouts but tonight I was just way too low (like under by 700 calories), so…

40's, shorties, or Canadians
I am looking for new friends and any or all of these would fit the bill. 42, 4'11, 101 lbs.....just trying to get leaner and in the best shape of my life. Would love more friends....happy to motivate and be motivating!

You do intakes? Wow!
I saw on someone else's thread that you do intakes/give advice. I have copied the questions below. Would love some guidance as I am stuck. I will start by saying I am 42, 4'11 and 101lbs. I exercise a lot...always have...but I am soft and the results do not reflect my efforts. A friend of mine always says, weight just…

Heavy lifting?
I am seeing a lot about this and wondering what people mean by it. Could someone define and tell me the benefits please? I know that when I was in my best shape I was weightlifting more and more consistently. As I have little to lose and am mostly seeking to shred some fat and get some definition, I am thinking this might…

Advice and friends for the 4'11?
Hi all, Seeking some advice and supportive friends who are also petite women and who are trying to get into great shape. According to the scale at my gym, I am 101. I clearly do not want to lose much. Maybe 5 or so pounds...and really, I care more about composition than weight...would be happier heavier if it meant more…

fruit in the evening
I have heard this can be a problem due to spiking blood sugar, insulin at night and that it is best at breakfast, lunch, post-workout. Thoughts? I know some will say counting calories will suffice...it does not for me. I only have a few pound to lose. Calorie deficit does not seem to suffice for me.

No Carbs at Dinner?
Wondering if anyone has tried this. I did so once and it seemed to work (but it could have been a host of other things...particularly that my weight training was really intense then). Thinking about taking it up again. Don't have a lot to lose and I eat fairly well...definitely under my calorie limit each day (1200....I am…
