Why Whey?
I bought the costco Whey Isolate for my husband because his doctor recommended it for his fruit smoothies in the morning. I can't find a huge amount of information on what it is and what it is good for. Seems to go with body building. Does any one have a simple explanation as to why this is better then say eggs...... I am…

Looking for idea's please. I am going winter camping this weekend, and looking for menu items. We are group camping with a family with kids. What would you bring that is either pre-cooked, or easy to prepare in the bush. This is a no electricity,no running water (unless the river counts) type camping, it is in the rain…

Dr oz and Proana
Was just watching Dr Oz, he is doing a show on proana. It is hard to watch, but it shows that there is nothing glamerous about going down that road. We are all fighting to lose weight or gain strength and are using this site to help educate ourselves. Watching this show on Dr Oz today just helped me put checks in place so…

Reading Posts instead of exercising
Still in my housecoat reading posts and commenting doesn't make for a great calorie burn. Someone please tell me to hang up my coffee cup and take my dog for a long walk.

Starting AGAIN, Looking for + viewpoints
I started MFP May 2010, and in 6 months lost 30 pounds and then made it to -50. After a bad move and a new stressful job, two years later May 2012, I am starting over at the same weight. I have already lost 8 pounds but am very conscious of the familiarity of these particular pounds. So with a sense of humor I am saying…

Haven't weighed in since NOVEMBER
Ok, it's been on my mind and so I am putting it out there. It have been a year since I've been on this site, and I was doing a slow and steady loss of 5 pounds a month from to May to November. I lost 30 pounds!!! Then I got sick, then we moved to another town, and then I procrastinated. Now that I have been back a few…

Re-Start or Kick Start or Jump-start
I need something. A bad cold had me for the month of October. I am ready to move on but I feel like I am starting over. I am having a hard time getting back in the game and am wondering how it is done. How do you get your mind back in the game? I haven't exercised in a month, when I started too early a week ago the cold…

25 Pounds lost, can't see much difference
Dont get me wrong. I am very happy with losing 25 pounds. It's half of my 50 goal. I am just dissapointed that it doesn't show more. Maybe I have more then 50 to lose. Cloths feel much better. Body stronger. I can run longer. Maybe the next 25 will show more. Still happy overall.

Deep fried ice-cream
I am afraid to look up the calories for deep fried icecream. I went with a friend to the city for the day and brought a bag with healthy snacks. We are both overweight, she more-so. So when she took me to her favorite mexican restaruant for lunch she ordered for herself deep fried burrito's, I ordered salad with grilled…

What are the 'little things' you've noticed with losing?
I just read someone celebrating that the towel goes around her with no gaps. I laugh, I would like that. I noticed a ring fit me better yesterday. What little things have you noticed????

Let's hear from 1 year (or more) members
Just curious, how many have used this site for a year or more? What have you learned? What have you succeeded at? I would love to have an idea of what a year of keeping track of calories and exercise accomplishes. Yes I like to read the back pages of a book first. Thanks for sharing.

I Broke 200!
I broke 200 this morning. I know this isn't a success story yet but considering I have tried diets for the last 5 years that have'nt got me past this number. Funny how I prevously lost the same 10-15 pounds at least 10 times. I feel strongly that this time is different. I have new tools. Counting calories does work. I have…

Wanted: Your Celiac Story
I won't start with my own story but I will add it right away. I am wondering how similar our stories are. Maybe by sharing how Celiac's was diagnosed in our case, others that see a resemblence to themselves will get tested and their lives will change. Questions that come to mind are: At what age were you diagnosed? Was it…

Getting over Ben and Jerry
Cherrie Garcia is my favorite. I love digging to get those chocolate chunks. I keep re-living our time together, and am finding it a hard affair to get over. No seriously I would like to know how you reset your brain after a cheat so that it doesn't keep replaying as a failure. I have ruined beautiful diets by one binge.…

standing still, is it possible to get too much exercise
My weight is very slowly moving down hill. Lately it seems to have plateaued, yet I am exercising for more than an hour a day, adding weights while on the treadmill. I expected results to come faster. I am eating enough, maybe too much>? But the exercise is making me hungry. Anyone suggestions or ideas?

Diet Shame- Brain Fart
I just had a thought. To me it is profound.(becuase I had it) I have always been ashamed to admit I was watching what I am eating. I am afraid of the judgment that goes along with it. People wondering if I will stick to it, or commenting on my diet choices. One of the reasons I have a problem with weight is because I am…

New, hippy and Celiac
Hi, I am beginning to wonder if I am the only overweight celiac out there? Most Celiac's are diagnosed by "failure to thrive" otherwise known as too skinny. I've been there too, but not in the last 10 years and not when diagnosed. It is always encouraging for me to hear of others celiac's stories of how they were diagnosed…

Back Problems
Everyone has back problems. I can sympathize. It's awful, frustrating, debilitating. So my story will sound familiar. I am a little over 200 pounds on a solid Irish frame that hides weight well. But I have 3 disc in my back that are "degenerating" fast. I was just recovering from 2 weeks of bed rest from my annual "back…
