I need something. A bad cold had me for the month of October. I am ready to move on but I feel like I am starting over. I am having a hard time getting back in the game and am wondering how it is done. How do you get your mind back in the game? I haven't exercised in a month, when I started too early a week ago the cold moved into my chest and I went backwards. I get cleared by the doc tomorrow, but I am worried I have lost the momentum. Any recovery steps or just "Get-er-done"?

I found for me that you just have to start out slow and steady. I just recently started exercising again and just doing about 30 minutes a day. One day I will do weight training and the next a simple aerobic routine. I figure if I go overboard, I won't continue.0

I am in the same boat. Bad cold most of October meant that I wasn't allowed to do much on doctor's orders. It seems to have gone and I've been cleared but......I haven't really done much of anything in 3 weeks. AND with Halloween there was candy everywhere. As of tomorrow, I'm focusing on drinking my water and cutting back on the sugars. If nothing else, I'm hoping that will get me back on track. Plus I start exercising again tomorrow  and am excited about it (first time in weeks).
We can do this!! Let's beat this thing UP!0 -
For me it's mental. We can do it physically. We just have to make ourselves. I have to go feet first and jump right in. You'll find what is best for you! Good luck and get up and at 'em!0

On my off days, I put on the IPOD and Move to the music for awhile! That at least gets the body going in the right direction!0

I was off in July due to a hurt foot. Just start back at 15 minutes or so a day and you will get your groove back!0

I fought a cold the entire month of September. One way I stayed "with it" was to take an easy walk several times a week. Then, when I finally got over it completely, I eased back into running by alternating 10 min. walk with 10 min. run (or whatever I could do), and that worked fairly painlessly. I was so glad to feel like being active again that motivation was not so much a problem. Maybe this will help next time.0
