Setting up Personal Training business from home
Hi! I am a Personal Trainer, and want to train clients from my garage at home. Are there any other UK pt's who have done this that can give me some pointers? I've registered as self-employed, but can't find much info about any restrictions/ insurance that type of thing. Any help would be appreciated :-)

HRM not working...
Had my polar ft4 HRM for just over 3 years. It's started acting up, it wouldn't pick my HR up, then it would shoot to 230, then 00. Bought a new strap as had replaced the batteries not long ago. And still doesn't work!!! Think I just need to accept the inevitable and buy a new one?????

Protein snacks with no nuts???
anyone have any good recipes for protein bars/ cookies etc that don't use nuts or nut products eg peanut butter?? Im struggling to find any??

Anyone been to Mexico in June??
Im looking at booking a last minute holiday to Mexico (Cancun/ Riveria Maya) on 13th June, however I keep reading that it can be really rainy at that time? Injury - help!!!
I have a shoulder injury that's flared up, and now have a pulled thigh muscle. Both felt better, went to the gym today and took it really easy, but both flared up again. What exercises can I do that will have the least amount of impact? Finding it hard, as both are such major muscles for upper and lower body.

Protein making me nauseous?
So on saturday I decided I need to kick myself into gear with my exercise, so went to the gym Sat and Sun. My nutrition also needed reviewing, so I upped my intake of protein. Sweaty gym clothes!!! Yuk!!!
Ive been going to the gym before work, so my sweaty gym clothes stay in my gym bag under my desk day. Any advice on how to keep my gym bag smelling lovely, rather than smelling like something's died in it?!?!? Just opened the bag now, phew!! Lol :smile:

Different Calorie Allowance Calculations
MFP has my maintain calorie allowance at 1680. Im just about to start New Rules Of Lifting For Women, and the book works out my maintain calories at 1937, with extra on lifting days. There is different calculations to work out each, but which one is best to go for??

Getting body fat % calculated
I want to get my body fat % calculated. This may sound stupid, but will the time of day affect what my result will be? I know my fat wont change throughout the day, but will getting measured either at the beginning or end of the day affect the result eg through water, food intake etc?

Looking like a gym horror!!!
After a hard workout in the gym today, I looked at myself in the changing room mirror, and was horrified!! I had sweat everywhere, my face for bright red and my fringe (bangs) was plastered to my head. Girls - how do you stay looking at least half decent in the gym whilst working really hard???????

Do the body fat machines at the gym really work??
I know they won't be accurate, but do the body fat % machines at the gym generally work? I dont have callipers and my gym doesnt measure body fat, so i'd like a general idea of what my body fat % is. Anyone use the machines?

Dont need a calorie deficit??
Im now in maintenance mode (5'7", 127lbs), but am training for a 10k race and to be super fit, so am accumulating a high calorie burn. I cant however eat all my calories back without stuffing my face with pizza (although I would very much like to do that!!) I use protein shakes which helps with the calories, but Ive found…

Injury in Toe
Hi, Ive injured the ligament/tendon between by 4th toe and my foot. I think it was from running up and down stairs all day at work, so now when i curl my toes it feels really tight. Measuring Body fat %
I know body fat can only be nearly accurately calculated by the pinch test etc, but is there a good website that can give you a good general overview? Ive tried a few sites, getting results ranging from 20% to 25%. So Im either an athlete or average!! Anyone know of a good reliable site?
