Protein making me nauseous?

So on saturday I decided I need to kick myself into gear with my exercise, so went to the gym Sat and Sun. My nutrition also needed reviewing, so I upped my intake of protein. Not to high levels, but much higher than what I normally eat as my protein is very low. Today, I woke up with a headache and feeling very nauseous. The nauseous has gone now (the ginger biscuits helped!!), but could it be my sudden increase on protein that casued it? Or just one of those things??

Was there anything else you changed? DId you not drink enough water? Did you not have your normal amount of coffee, tea or pop?

If you aren't used to working out and didn't drink extra water it may be a bit of debydration. It would also of been caused if you added more sodium than normal.

It also could just be a coincidence.

I've recently increased my protein and haven't had any issues with it.

I had this issue when I tried to eat tuna with Greek yogurt.. I normally eat quite a bit during the day but that combination just didn't work for me. It may just be the 'new snack' that's the problem. Though I have had issues before with tuna on an empty(ier) stomach - that is something I have seen noted in various places, to make sure you don't just have a huge glob of protein BUT I have @60 g every day for breakfast and didn't notice the issue..Only tuna, so it may also be the sodium content combined with protein.

Your diary is closed so can't see what you ate to comment on that but just wanted to share in case it was tuna ;)

Think I've worked it out. I've had a lot of milk the past 2 days, and now I think about it, when I've had a lot before I've had the same problem. Im usually ok when just have it for breakfast, but had my protein shakes with it too. Might lay off that and see how it goes.
