Fit Bit Blaze vs my Garmin with chest strap?
A friend of mine is selling her Fit Bit Blaze. I have a Garmin with a chest strap that I bought in 2014. It still works fine. How good is the fit bit blaze? Is the HR monitor accurate enough? Calories burned, etc? Worth buying?

What to eat at 4:00 AM?
I like to work out/go to the gym before work in the morning. I am not very hungry at that time but I have to eat before I work out. Any ideas for quick breakfast that will prep me for my workout? I am trying to get away from cereal -- Special K/Krave .... This week I've been eating 1 tbsp of peanut butter on wheat bread.…

C25k NSV :) :)
I jogged for 3 minutes straight (twice!) today! I am on Week 3 of C25k and I THOUGHT the program was walk 1:30 and jog 1:30 but I didn't know that it was only part of it with two intervals of jogging for 3 minutes. 1:30 into the first 3 minute jog I was thinking - "Why is it taking so long to go to brisk walk?" Well - I…

Curious - How did relationships change as your weight change
I am curious about this. I am wondering how my bf of 3 yrs and I's relationship will change (if it does at all)... I am trying to motivate him to join the gym with me but he hasn't yet but we have both been eating healthier. I am hoping as he sees my transformation, he will be motivated. I love the way he looks now but I…

Another NSV - Starting to see changes!
Well, I have been on this journey since January. I've 'tried' a million times before but this year I am serious about it! I have been struggling with only seeing small changes and no changes as a whole. However, in the last 2 weeks I am starting to see changes in my stomach *finally* I still have a long way to go but I'm…

Great Article Regarding "Cheat Meals"
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/ask-the-ripped-dude-cheat-meals.html This article from Bodybuilding.com discusses how cheat meals are ok and good to help you on the straight and narrow. It talks about the rule of 90/10 where 90% of the time you eat what you're supposed to-to reach your goals and 10% of it should be your…

Small NSV
I know this is small but it means something to me. I started C25K this week. So, Tuesday, I did it at the gym on the treadmill. It was challenging but I got through it fine. Today, I didn't go to the gym this morning so I went to the park after work and did Day 2. It was much HARDER (as expected) on the track! I will be…

NSV for me :)
I'm pumped! Over the weekend my sister and sister in law said I should try jogging at a low speed at the gym. I was actually afraid because having something moving under my feet that fast just didn't sound good. When I told them I was currentlly walking at a speed of 4.0 in intervals, they said, well you can use that speed…

Heart Rate
For those who were obese and mostly sedentary before exercising: I would like to amp up my cardio work outs but what I'm doing now keeps me within (and mostly to my max heart rate). I am ready but it's obvious my heart rate is not. I have learned that after being sedentary for long periods of time (eating unhealthy, etc)…

I guess I should make a formal introduction of myself :)
I have been lurking for a little while and have been participating in some of the conversations. I love this forum :) So, I guess a little about me: I first 'learned' that something wasn't right in grade school (somewhere between 4th and 6th grade). A group of my classmates were standing in a group singing (about me)…

Calorie Intake
My calorie intake on myfitnesspal is telling me 1200 per day but that is too low and I'm worrying that my body is in starvation mode. I realized after doing some research that I should be taking in around 1900. No matter what I do on the app I can't make it change automatically. Do I just change it myself? I guess I just…
