Look at what you have, not what you had
Look at what you have, not what you had I was watching the Suze Orman show FOREVER ago and she said the below in reference to people who's lives were devastated by the financial crisis: "Look at what you have, not at what you had, such as a job, a house, a hefty 401K account, etc. Stay with gratitude, not envy, regret, and…

Recipe: Zucchini and Green Chile Breakfast Casserole
I made this today and it's REALLY good. More importantly, it's super easy to make, portion and then toss in the fridge to enjoy later. The only annoying thing was that it took 50 minutes, not 25-35, to firmly set and get golden brown on top. I started checking it every 10 minutes starting at the 25 minute mark. I don't…

I'm falling in love with another blog. Here are Rachel Wilkerson's Basic Principles on how to live a healthy, non-obsessed, livable life: http://www.rachelwilkerson.com/basic-principles/ This is the kind of stuff I love. The kind of life you can 'rinse and repeat' forever because it's gentle, non-obsessive, health focused…

All Inclusive Vacations?
MFP Family, I'm interested in booking an all-inclusive vacation within the next 18 months (want to save up). Sandals and Secrets are SOOOOOOOOOO expensive, but I see great 5 and 7 night deals on funjet.com. My husband and I are interested in a resort that is couples-friendly, but not, you know, gross (some of those…

Good tips for everyone
http://thehealthyapron.com/your-best-self-one-month-makeover/ I didn't read all of the articles from each week word-for-word, but I the ones that interested me had some great (and what I consider sound) content. As always, do what is best for you. I found that much of the information provided mirrors my sentiments :)…

Something I keep in mind when I’m not happy with the numbe
My main goal is to be relaxed and non-obsessive about what I eat and about moving my body. As a former obsessive, I frequently have to combat getting stuck mentally on the ‘small stuff’. Case in point: When I weigh in and see a number that I’m not happy with (it ‘should’ be lower after how hard I worked this week/how…

Setting the stage for successful social eating
Ideally, I would never have to work from the outside in and no 'tip' or 'trick' would be needed. I would just make amazing choices, listen to my body (i.e.: eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full), but in social situations this common sense stuff can frequently fly out the window. In order to set myself up for success,…

If the dress is small, I MUST BE SMALL!!!
One of my new dresses arrived last night. Pulled it out of the paper and said "uh-oh...that looks really small". I figured I wouldn't be able to get into it and it would be going back. It fits. Like. A. Glove. I won't be wearing it until spring, but this is the dress (if you're interested):…

My first spinning class: Holy *kitten*!
So I took the LAMEST spinning class last week and was encouraged by my MFP friends to try spinning at least four times before I decide if I love or hate it. I tried it again last night with a different instructor and, let me tell you, it was a different experience entirely. The class TOTALLY kicked my @ss in a way that I…

My First 30 Day Shred: Level 1
Santa brought Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred for Christmas. Tried Level 1 for the first time yesterday and I LOVED IT! First let me state that I will not be doing this every day for 30 days. This is just another option for my daily work out. If you haven’t done the 30 Day Shred before, the format is awesome: - Quick warm up…

Attention Dancers!
I asked Santa for the Dance with Julianne: Cardio Ballroom DVD for Christmas. He totally delivered and I tried the DVD for the first time this morning. Water Aerobics
Took my first water aerobics class last night at my local Y. It was SUCH a great workout! Not sure if you've thought about trying this kind of class in the past, but if you're considering it you should definitely give it a try. I'm glad I did. After class, I was that kind of exhausted that I used to be after getting out of…

Do you count calories from insoluble fiber?
Fiber One has 14g of fiber. Only 1g is soluble. I'm reading that insoluble fiber is not digestible by the body and therefore the calories from insoluble fiber do not count. Is this true? That would mean that Fiber One has essentially no calories. Your thoughts? Charmagne

Meals that are good sources of fat and protein?
Hi, MFP family! I'm operate at my best when I get the bulk of my calories from fat, protein and veggies (satisfied longer, think about food less or not at all/limited cravings). Protein and veggies are easy to prep and fit into my calories. It's finding food that also have enough fat to keep me satisfied that don't break…

How would you celebrate?
Dear MFP Family, I'm getting pretty close to my stretch goal of losing 100lbs. If I don't get there, that's totally okay because I am happy today as I am. But if I DO get there, THAT IS A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT AND DEMANDS A CELEBRATION! I have some ideas (trip to Vegas, a fabulous piece of jewelry, rent a beach house on the…
