Exercising with thumb arthritis
Any tips for working out with thumb arthritis? I do strength training at the gym and yoga, and my painful thumb arthritis is making it difficult.

Almost a year
So this group started almost a year ago! How was everyone's 2021? Is this group going to keep going into 2022? Participation has fallen off so I was just wondering.
-
Hydration
When do y'all find time to drink water? I can't really drink much during the day because I don't have many bathroom breaks at work, but if I drink in the evening I'm up and down all night!
-
Happy October
Hope everyone's October is off to a great start!
-
Checking in for September
Hope everyone has had a great summer. Bring on fall because I'm sick of temps in the 90s!
-
August Goals?
I want to continue with great family time and try to have a good attitude about returning to work at the end of the month.
-
Swimsuits
What kind of swimsuits do y'all wear? I'm stuck between a classic one piece or a skirt/top combo or board shorts and a top. Not sure what to get.
-
June goals!
Well, I figured I'd start this thread. What do you want to accomplish in June? I have maintained for the last several months, which is ok. I'd like to get the final 15 off this summer. Also I want to incorporate some more hiit videos in my workout routine.

Constantly injured
Every time I get on a roll with my fitness, something derails me. Right now it's my knee, but it's been my foot, my hip, etc. Do y'all manage to get in daily exercise without injuries? What's your secret??
-
Retirement
Anyone here retired? I'm not yet but starting to think about it. I like my job, but I'm getting tired of it too. If you're retired, what do you do with your time?

Hairstyles
I watch the train wreck show 90 Day Fiance (it's a guilty pleasure) and two of the older women were wearing pigtails last week. The internet went nuts saying women over 40 can't do that. I sometimes rock pigtails on the weekend and never thought I shouldn't. Do y'all buy into "age appropriate hair" or do you believe we can…

Thread for those doing Breath with Adriene
Thought it would be fun to discuss the 30 day Breath series with anyone doing it. Did day 1 yesterday. This is the first 30 day that I have done when it dropped. Day 1 was nice and slow so I could focus on breath and alignment.

Happy New Year
Wishing everyone in this group a happy new year- I hope we all stay healthy, happy, and active in 2021!
-
Anyone still here?
I finally made it to onederland and am down to 186. I stayed in the group because it was somewhat active but now it seems dead. Anyone still here?

Christmas dinners 🍽
If you celebrate Christmas 🎄 what are you having on the big day? I'm cooking prime rib roast, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, and pumpkin pie plus one other dessert probably cookies. Yes, I'll be going over my calories that day!

St john's wort tea
Does anyone have any experience drinking st john's wort tea during pms or to help with depression? (Or taking the supplements) Is it effective on an as needed basis or do you have to drink it everyday? Seems like a better alternative to stress-eating if it works.
-
Question for those using st john's wort
Does it work if you use it as needed like if you're having a rough few days or does it need to be taken daily?
-
Any emotional eaters in this group? What triggers you?
I'm an emotional eater. My main trigger is stress from worrying about my teenage daughter. When she's having mood swings or is upset, I deal with it by eating. She has depression so it's hard to deal with. I also get triggered if someone upsets me at work. I've been working during quarantine to try and figure out if I'm…

Menopause podcasts
Do any of ya'll know of any good menopause podcasts? There are a lot out there but I want to pick the right one to listen to.
-
Yoga!
I'm on day 18 in the 30 days of yoga with Adrienne series. I'm a beginner but I really love it. Not sure what to do after the 30 days. Any suggestions from yoga people on what's the best course of action after the 30 days?

Garmin question
Can all Garmin users connect with one another- like can a Vivofit and vivosmart users connect or do you have to have the exact same device?
-
Running socially distant
Just read that runners should operate at 12 feet of distance instead of 6 feet due to heavier breathing and expelling more droplets. Didn't know if everyone else had heard that.
-
Walking
Has anyone here had any real success with walking as your only means of exercise (of course combined with healthy eating)? I am interested to hear how you did it. How much and how often, etc. Thanks!

Garmin's Vivo fit
I got this for Christmas and I was wondering if anyone else uses this device. I'm excited to get it going. If you have one, do you have any tips for starting up? How many steps should be my goal?

Best of the worst thread
This thread is to share what's the best thing to order from the least healthy restaurants? Here's mine: Restaurant - five guys Order- veggie sandwich...it's actually really good ...best without cheese but tastier with cheese.
-
Hair update
So I started using Aveda's shampoo, conditioner, and scalp system for thinning hair right after Christmas. At first I thought it was doing nothing, but with continued use, I do think that less hair is falling out. It doesn't grow hair, but it's supposed to help with breakage and falling out. I'm going to finish this batch…

30 minutes
You only have 30 minutes to workout. What do you decide to do and why?
-
Side bends with weights
I see a lot of people (mostly women) doing side bends with dumbbells. I figured if so many people are doing this it must do something, but I don't think it's really doing anything. Is this exercise worth my time?
-
Swimsuit shopping
When all your weight collects in the middle, there is not a swimsuit on earth that looks decent. No amount of ruffles, skirts, roushing, or tummy control can make me want to go swimming this summer. Which sucks cause I live at the beach!

Question about this machine
It's supposed to strengthen your back, but I don't feel anything when I use it. I added some more weight but still really just feel it in my hands. Does this contraption really strengthen your back?
