The "B" stomach.
After reading a thread from much earlier last year about women with "B" shaped stomachs, It suddenly dawned on me that I am one of those lucky people who have it (SARCASM!) I decided to start a new thread in hopes that people who have this same issue can comment on their experience (whether it be finally getting rid of it,…

BEANS! (and Tempeh?)
Hey guys, Some of you may have seen my last post about thinking of more meat-free options to incorporate into my lifestyle before it got removed. I know people love beans and Tempeh, so I'm looking for your favorite ways to use them for meals and snacks.

Slippery hands on deadlifts
Hey guys (and girls!), I was wondering if anybody had any tips regarding a slippery grip on the bar during deadlifts (and other lifts for that matter). I know a lot of people say to use chalk, but the dust from it really irritates my nose and I have a weird issue with feeling it on my hands   I've heard of…

Girls - If you are afraid of becoming too bulky from lifting
I heard a really great analogy today. Now, It's common knowledge that it's very difficult for women to achieve the feared "bulky" and "bodybuilder" look, but I think this quote can really help cement in your mind that lifting heavy will NOT make you bulky without the use of EXTREMELY heavy weights, supplements/steroids, or…

Bench Press without a bench?
I'm about to begin Stronglifts 5x5 and finally have almost all the equipment I need. However, right now I don't have a bench. I know, i know, look on craigslist etc, but there isn't any for sale in my price range right now and close to where I live. So, what I'm asking is if it is okay to do them on the floor, or if…

Your best TOMATO SOUP Recipes!
I'm looking for a really great recipe to make tomato soup with. Growing up, all I ever enjoyed was the campbell's kind. I'm more open now, but I still want something that'll really excite the tastebuds! I've made a few, but none of them had the "wow" factor. So without further ado, please share your favourite and or tried…

What are your experiences/thoughts with These Jillian DVDs?
Hey guys, TL;DR : How do you like Jillian Micheals' 6 week 6 pack, Banish fat boost metabolism, and or No more trouble zones DVDS? Experiences/Results/tips appreciated. So recently I've been completing my second round of 30 day shred. I haven't done it for a year, because I fell in love with Blogilates on…

What are your best whole grain healthy bread recipes?
I was just reading another post about types of bread. Currently I eat a generally healthy bread, but I'd love to save money and know EXACTLY what's going into my bread. So, do you have an amazing bread recipe? Looking for a tasty one that hopefully won't be too high calorie, but no problem if it is. Thanks guys!

One pound per month - final stretch
For the last 7-8 months, I've only lost 1 pound per month. I eat at what is close to a 15% deficit if I am not mistaken now, and my goal is 1/2 pound per week. The problem is, I only lose a pound a month at maximum, and only on my period. I've taken to only weighing on those days. I'm patient and will continue with my…

Has anyone "transformed" their body WITHOUT lifting heavy?
I just thought I'd ask. Currently, there's no way I can sign up and pay for a gym. Therefore, I can't really be lifting heavy either! Right now the only strength I really get in is body-weight work and 3-8 pound weights(I do lots of jillian micheals) and cardio. I have build a small amount of muscle in my arms (then…

Just curious - casual swimming?
Hey guys, I usually work out for about an hour or so per day with body weight strength training, occasional medium weights, or have a cardio day. After my workout I like to go in the pool we have outside in the summer. It's nothing fancy, just a backyard pool. I don't swim like an Olympic competitor obviously since I just…

Blogilates?
Hey guys, I'm thinking of taking a break from my Jillian micheal's when I'm finished this DVD (Done 30DS, Nearly finished RI30) And trying the Blogilates calenders (on youtube). Has anyone else done these? How do you feel they were? Did you see results? if so, when? Obviously I know any exercise is better than none, but…

How are you incorporating coconut oil into your diet/macros.
Hey everyone! I have a huge jar of coconut oil that I use for pretty much... everything. BUT I have yet to cook or consume it. I know that the fats in coconut oil differ from that of other foods and are composed differently, but I'm not sure whether or not to take the plunge and go over my macro for fat simply because it…

Self-Tanner (not fitness related)
Hey guys! I was wondering if it's okay to make an exfoliant scrub with coconut oil and sugar before applying self tanner all over. I know you're supposed to put extra lotion on elbows/ankles/knees to prevent from getting too dark, but will putting coconut oil on my skin prevent my tanner from doing just that.. tanning?…

Feeling Fat.
I know a lot of us struggle with seeing someone new in the mirror. I kind of have that problem. The trouble is, I also have a BF% of 26, and I'm 10 pounds from my goal weight. It's been stressful lately, thinking that I'm not doing enough exercise (even though I increased it to an hour of strength (bodyweight) per day) I…

To increase or decrease now... that is the question.
As the title says, I'd like opinions and experience! I've been eating 15% of my TDEE for around a month or 2 months. I adjusted this from 20%, as I'm only about 10 pounds of my ultimate goal weight, but still have an oddly large=ish BF% (26 average on calculators) and am obviously more concerned about fat loss and BF% than…

Does anyone else seem to ONLY lose weight on their period?
It seems like since I entered the last 5-10 pounds to go range, I can only lose weight on my period. Typically 2 pounds, but the rest of the time it's pretty constant/fluctuates up. WEIRD! most people gain. Anyone else like that?

Anti-depressants and weight loss?
I really need to be on some type of anti-depressant, but I'm terrified I'll just gain all the weight back. Yes, I continually hear "wouldn't you rather not worry and not be depressed?" But that doesn't really matter because I'll be depressed if I gain the weight that I worked SO hard to lose... People don't seem to…

What should I do about this user?
I know I'm not the "internet police" or anyone to tell anyone how to live their lives. However, after quickly glimpsing at a thread dedicated to some weight loss pill, I noticed a girl asking a question about the effectiveness of said pill. I thought her outfit looked really nice, so I clicked her profile for a closer look…

Which heart rate monitor would be a good choice for my cat?
I really want to start a Couch to 10k program, but I want my cat to run it with me. He is very active, so I want to make sure he gets enough calories. Do you think he needs the same as me because we run together and therefore must have the same TDEE? Thanks everyone, it's really appreciated. PS: which brand of cat food can…

What would you say? Sedentary or lightly active?
Although I've lost 40 pounds, I'm going to take a little "diet break" and eat at TDEE soon for a few weeks. However, I STILL cannot decide if I'm lightly active or sedentary! Here's my stats: I work out on average 5 days per week, 35-60 mins each time. Bodyweight strength training for most days, with warmup cardio for 15…

Should I up the calories even MORE?! (Last 15 pounds)
Well! Here I am after a fourty pound loss. "Losing weight was so easy!" I said. "I won't ever have to suffer a plateau", I said. LOOKS LIKE KARMA CAME AND BIT ME IN THE BUM! ( Or in this case... the lower belly and thighs) I currently weight 119.8 - 120.4. My BF% is around 26.9, give or take. This seems pretty high. 5'3.…

10 Gross ingredients you won't believe are in everyday food!
I found this article and was disgusted! (just a disclaimer about the L-cysteine: I don't think human hair is in any foods. That would not be FDA approved, although I could be wrong there is strong evidence it is only duck feathers.)…

Does anyone NOT like lifting heavy?body/medium weights
Does anyone NOT like lifting heavy?body/medium weights/ dvds/ youtube instead? I personally have never lifted heavy before. I don't have the money to join a gym, or the transportation, or really the time to make it to and fro. I applaud the people who can! And I don't have the money to magically transform an entire room of…

Increasing calories close to goal weight
So, I'm nearly at my goal weight. about two weeks ago I ate 1600 up from my normal 1400, and I think I lost a bit. I went back down from there to 1400 this week, and have lost slightly (but the scale always fluctuates, so..) I initially upped my calories because I wasn't losing and I was SUPER hungry. I've heard you should…

Half metabolism reset
So. I'm in the final stretch now! I'm very short, so I'm looking to weigh around 110-115 pounds in the end. However, as these things happen, I have pretty much completely stalled on weight loss. Do you think I should do a "half" reset? (This means from 1400 calories a day to 1500 ish for about 4 days) Do you think it would…

Any suggestions to blast those last 10-15 pounds?
I've really slowed down in my weight loss recently, which is because I'm sooooo close to my goal. (It's bittersweet!) I know there are a lot of things to bust through plateaus, and I've heard a few. I just want other people's suggestions on what they did during their final pounds to keep things rolling :)

6W6P questions, NMTZ questions, So many questions!
Hey everyone! I was just wondering what your thought of 6W6P and if it gave you good results and if it wasn't just focused on the abs (meaning did your legs tone up too?) And I'd also like to know how people felt about NMTZ. I run for cardio, and I'm currently doing C25K and don't think I'd want to alternate this DVD with…
