What's your biggest hurdle right now?
Title says it all. :) I just started a new job. It's 6 1/2 hours a day, 5 days a week and it'll be the most I've been away from home since I became a mom 18 1/2 years ago. Planning meals in advance, making time for exercise, wow, I'm working hard to not let it become overwhelming.

Was just given an Isogenix sales pitch last night
And was told how bad my homemade soup is for the body, fat makes you fat and the apples my kids eat have NO nutrition in them, what-so-ever. I'm sold. There was also this obsession with buying organic. I dared not say that I don't buy organic because I didn't want to hear how I was poisoning my family. Fun times. I can…

More than halfway there.
Starting weight 241 current weight 184 Goal weight 140 (ish, we'll see when I get closer.) I'm 5'3'', age 46 and I've been somewhere between, obese and morbidly obese my entire adult life. While still obese, I am the healthiest I've ever been. :)

My guestimation method worked alright, until about 4 weeks ago.
However, it's time to buckle down and be accurate on calories consumed. I need scale recommendations. Thank you.

Anyone Fitness Blender fans buy the FB Fit 2 schedule?
I have the first one and I like it and am wanting to do it again but I see there's a new one and I'm itching to get that and try that one out now. I was disappointed to see they've raised their prices on their calendar schedules but not surprised, I mean, they were so rock bottom low. They're still reasonable (a little…

What are the benefits of plyometric based workouts?
One of my ankles is prone to injury, so I tend to stay more low impact but in doing beachbody's Les Mills Combat, I've ventured into more jumping and am finding I rather like it. Although for me, it's more like small hops. ;) Feel free to share your personal experience and if you like or dislike plyometric workouts.

Last year I let my children's problems stress me out
and I neglected myself, put a bunch of weight back on. It wasn't good for me, it wasn't good for them. It was a super hard year (my oldest was considering suicide, just to give an idea on what kind of stress.) This year, I've made commitments to myself on taking care of myself, putting myself first and so far it's gone…

What's your non-scale victory today?
Today I put on a vest that I couldn't wear six months ago, and it fit perfectly. How about you? :)

Anyone can? I'm making unsweetened applasauce today.
A friend with four apple trees told us to come help ourselves, so I'm making a whole lot of unsweetened applesauce. I'm guesstimating it'll be about 40 or so quarts by the time I'm done and it'll take me all week to do it. My kids love me. Homemade is so much better then store bought.

And today's non-scale victory!
Mine, while showering after my workout, I noticed I have these lovely ankles! I have been having trouble with swelling after working out and it's not there, no cankles! So even though it's too soon to see a difference in how my clothes fit and I'm still bumpy and curvy in all the wrong places, my efforts for a smaller,…

Need an alternative exercise for side plank hip raises.
It's too hard one of my shoulders, even modified on the side of my knees and elbow instead of hand and feet. I'm pretty good at alternatives or modifications for other exercises (using the couch for slightly elevated burpees and such) but I'm flummoxed on what I could do for that one. Thank you! I'm 45, 236 lbs and 5ft…

Getting started again!
I've been off since before Christmas, just not taking the time to take care of myself. Well no more! I've gained some weight back, I've inputted my gain, so all my numbers are honest and i'm committing to recording all my food. My appetite is out of control and late night snacking kills me. I'll try to go bed earlier so I…

I'm amazed 45 pounds down and I still feel just as fat
I can pick out individual differences. My face is definitely thinner. My clothes are smaller. I have some great muscles going on underneath it all. I can feel my ribs without any effort but even with all that, when I look at myself and get the full picture, I don't feel any different. It seems pretty whacked in my head.…

Counting calories on homemade soup stock?
How would you start to do that? I mean, cooking bones with veggies and then sieving the whole thing doesn't really work in the recipe counter. lol Suggestions?

To the person that sent me a friends request this am
I accidentally pressed delete while considering your question. I'm sorry! I was going to respond personally, as best I could but now your name and info has fallen into the web based void. Should you happen, on the slim chance, see this, please feel free to send another request and I promise to accept BEFORE considering…

Music, Pandora recomendations?
I just realized my brilliant husband wired the tv so I can stream pandora and play youtube exercise videos at the same time. I've been doing fitnessblender, which doesn't have music. So hit me with music that keeps you motivated! Please note if not child friendly, I have 7 year old twins that exercise with me sometimes. :-)

What do these numbers mean on my home page
1480 Goal 1486 Food - 529 Exercise = 957 Okay, I get the first three. 1480 is my goal. 1486 is how much I've logged for food and 529 is how much I logged for exercise which leaves the last number 957 (net). Am I suppose to be shooting for something specific there?

People with excess skin, what do you wear for exercise?
I have extreme skin on my stomach. It hangs a good 3 inches and when I move very actively, it slaps (so embarrassing!) especially during jumping jacks, burbees, you get the idea. This is with normal workout clothes, usually undies, shorts. I was 266 at my heaviest 15 years ago and since then I've lost, gotten pregnant,…

No one notices my weight loss
I keep thinking it's coming, it's coming but *sigh*, I'd really like someone to notice. I'm certainly not working on a healthier me for the kudos, but it'd make my day. I'll keep working on it. Someone will notice eventually. Edited to add, sorry, that really was whiny.

Dumb news feed being down
All day I've wanted to say to my friends, look, I'm 4 oz. from being at a 25 pound loss! But I can't. So I told you all instead. lol

Would love some more, like minded friends
Hey all. I'm a 43 year old mother of five. (with ages ranging from 7 to 15) I'm 20 pounds down working towards a hundred pound total loss. I enjoy bike riding (working on my endurance and increasing my times and distance), yoga, pilates, walking, weight bearing toning, and other low impact exercises. I'm trying to focus on…

Any suggestions for a good low impact workouts?
I'm mostly looking for DVD ideas to expand my library. I have a couple Leslie Sansone that I use and for the outside, I walk and bike. I can't do jumping, twisting motions. Thanks. :)

Emotional eaters, how do you deal with stress???

Revamping routine for summer and kids
Kids home for the summer in a few weeks! My kids are finally a bit older so I have a bit of leeway, but my one son struggles with raging, so that really limits the time I can leave him home. His older sister just can't handle him (and it's not fair to her). So I'm *hopefully* going to get out to walk with my mom before my…

How much exercise do you do when you're sick?
I'm a little torn what I should try to do today. Sore throat, fever and stuffy nose are what I got going on. I cancelled my walk with my mother, we tend to really push our pace and I fear I don't have the energy for that. I'm thinking of a something light here at home. Opinions? ( I know there's plenty out there, lol)

Another newbie, mom of five
Hi, I'm 43, mother of five, youngest are seven year old twins. I was losing weight for a good many years (in the middle of having babies) but 3 boys, really close together completely threw me off track. I need to be back on track and it's been long enough, it's basically starting from scratch. I have about a hundred to…
