Ladies, what does your strength training weekly routine look like?
Do you work particular body parts one day? Could you please share which body parts you work each day(s) mom-fri so I get ideas on how to structure my week. Thanks!

Strength training- which is better?
3 full body workouts 3-4 times a week or an upper/lower body split 6 days?

Are short rest periods between weightlifting considered cardio?

Post lifting meal
After an hour of heavy lifting, I have started to eat 5 scrambled egg whites with a tsp oil, a banana and an apple. Is this ok for recovery? I don't like the idea of a protein shake and find the whites more convenient anyhow. I eat this within an hour of the workout finishing. What are your suggestions for post strength…

What do you do if you go over your calories?
I went over by 500 calories for the day but am still within my tdee. Feeling rather annoyed at myself as I've been on track for the past few days after giving myself a real telling off! I've already done a strength and conditioning 50 min workout this morning. I could do steady state cardio on the elliptical for an hour…

if you did 3 alternative days of full body heavy strength training, what would you do on other days?

Setting macros and protein
I'm trying to lose fat and maintain muscle. I'm eating at a 500 calorie deficit approx.m, following iifym but do I really need to be eating so much protein? It's making me feel awful inside. I weigh 142 pounds and am not overweight. Want to lose 10 vanity pounds ideally. My protein intake goal is 125g daily, fat is 60g and…

Will I burnout doing this?

Anyone getting good results from losing weight on iifym?
I'm thinking of giving it a go. I tend to eat more carbs and fat than I should, and consume less protein so am setting up my diary for 40c/35p/25f. Does this seem OK to lose body fat and maintain muscle mass on a 500 caloric deficit? I plan to eat nutritious foods 90% of the time. Any other pointers for me?

Am I likely to lose a lot of muscle..
My tdee is 3000 calories (I workout a lot) and I consume 1900-2000 calories a day. I know that means I have 1000 calories left over. It's recommended to eat around 20% under tdee to you don't few too hungry and don't lose a lot of muscle but I'm more than content eating this much. Definitely doesn't feel too little! Am I…

Always bunged up and halve a cold since working out
Daily. Since I got my Fitbit a month ago, I have made it an obligation to do at least 60 mins of exercise a day. Wher it be interval training, Kettlebells, a walk or high resistance elliptical. Problem is, I'm always getting sore throats and generally feeling like I'm coming down with something. My health is normally on…

Calories in vs calories out
If I'm consuming 1900 calories daily, and burning 2500, will I be losing around 1.5 pounds a week? I seem to be consistently and unintentionally be consuming this number and with the workouts I'm doing as well as general daily activity, seem to be burning 2500. Will be weighing in on Friday but was curious to know how much…

Strength training and hiit on the same day?
Well I did 20 min of Kettlebells today and then 15 min of hiit on the elliptical. Couldn't physically do more hiit. Now I'm feeling the effects of overtraining. Had a nap, I was THAT tired. Is it advised to do strength training on different days to hiit? To get the best results? I was thinking of doing 30 min strength…

How long before j see the scales go down?
My bmi is 22 so I'm not overweight but I'm curious. If I wanted to lose 10 pounds at a rate of a pound loss per week, How long before I start to see a loss I'm in eating 500 calories below my tdee? My tdee is 2600 inc exercise (Fitbit) so if I'm eating 1900 calories for example, my projected weight loss should be a little…

Ok maybe I'm just not that smart...
but I've read and re-read the faq's and still am not understanding something. During a workout, my fitbit tells me I have burnt much less than my polar hrm tells me I have. I have tried manually logging my workout and inputting the calories I have burnt according to my polar but the fitbit still adds less calories than I…

what type of exercise is this classed as?
My max heart rate is 188. If I'm cranking up the resistance on my elliptical and keeping my heart rate between 165-175 beats per minute, for 45 minutes, is this classed as steady state cardio? Same as if I'm taking my kids out for a double pushchair speed walk with my heart rate being as high as mentioned before. I've been…

What is my activity level?

Seen as my charge doesn't log calories correctly from intense workouts...
I took it off and wore my polar ft4. When I finished my workout, I manually logged it on the Fitbit app and I that I had burnt 400 calories from the workout. Why on earth has it only increased my daily calories by 250 instead of the 400? I just got the Fitbit a week ago so am still getting to grips with it. If I manually…

Manually logging workout on fitbit
I manually log my workouts on Fitbit. I take it off during workout and wear my polar heart rate monitor instead as Fitbit grossly underestimates my calorie burn during intense workouts. It doesn't seem to add those workout calories to my total daily calorie burn though. It's supposed to, isn't it? This is so annoying as I…

Reading so many contradicting things. Confused!
So I'm planning on firming up. I'm a 5' 7 female and weigh 143 pounds. My body frame is small and I am 'skinny fat'. I've been following ww for a good few years and my weight loss has halted. That's why I think it's time to focus less on scales and more on losing inches and gaining muscle. My Fitbit tells me I burn 2200…

So scared to eat 500 calories under my tdee
I've been on weight watchers forever and although I'm at a healthy weight (143 pounds, 5' 7 32 year old female) I don't like the way my body looks. I workout 5 times a week for an hour very intense. With weight watchers, I've not been losing any more weight for a month or so now and am fed up. With ww, I was eating roughly…

Please help
So I own a Fitbit charge that informs me that I burn 2200 calories a day on average. I'm a 5' 7 female, 32 years old and weigh 143 pounds. I want to lose 10 pounds. I workout 4 times a week and the number that Fitbit gives me for daily burn does not include my workouts. They're an additional 500-600 calories per workout.…

Working out while fasting
im fasting for Ramadan no eating or drinking from sunrise to sunset (21.5 hour fast) and have been doing this for 7 days now. I have 21 more fast days to complete. During the fast, I take out my daughters in the double stroller, for a 4 miles brisk uphill ealk/jog as the weather is glorious here in the UK at the moment. I…

personal best :-)
I finally plucked up the courage and managed to do 3 TGUs with a 16 kg bell on the right and 2 on the left (form was starting to get sloppy so I stopped. very proud of myself, I had a baby 4 months ago and was nervous as anything about the TGUs because a month after she was born, I really struggled to do just 1 with an 8kg…

HIIT...how often?
I've started doing HIIT on my crosstrainer (elliptical) 1 min going all out on a high level, 2 min slower pace. I do this up to 45 min. My question is, could I do this 4x a week if I wanted, without it having adverse effects on my health? I've heard HIIT workouts should be limited. Thanks!

unsure about whether to take protein powder...
i want to reduce my body fat. I am female, 5' 7 and weigh 150 pounds. I have set my macros to 40c/30/30. I workout using kettlebells (12 and 16kg) 3x a week for 45 mins. My macros always run short on protein so I amm in two minds whether or not to have a protein shake straight after training. I typically consume around…

How does my (open) diary look to you?
I'm 28. 5 weeks pregnant and trying to eat as balanced as possible for myself and my baby. I'm 5' 7 and weighed 140 pounds pre pregnancy. I have gained 16 pounds so far. I workout with Kettlebells 3-4x a week and feel full of energy and very healthy. Does it look like I'm making good food choices? I can't do without my…
