I've been on weight watchers forever and although I'm at a healthy weight (143 pounds, 5' 7 32 year old female) I don't like the way my body looks. I workout 5 times a week for an hour very intense. With weight watchers, I've not been losing any more weight for a month or so now and am fed up.

With ww, I was eating roughly 1400 calories a day. I've decided to give mfp a go. I own a Fitbit charge which informs me that i burn approx 2200 calories a day without working out. Just general day to day activities. To lose a pound a week, I should be eating 1700.

I'm scared that I'm going to gain weight if I jump from my ww allowance of 1400 calories, to mfp's 1700. And on days i exercise, eating back those calories so I'd be expected to eat 1700 + 500 (workout calories) = 2200 calories and still lose a pound!

This makes me very nervous as I'm used to eating considerably less than this and not losing. Please help!

Actually, if your using your average burn from your Fitbit (found on your fitbit profile page), then you would NOT eat back exercise calories since they are already included.

Also, it is highly recommended to weigh your food on a kitchen scale and only use measuring cups for liquids. With MFP there are also no free foods (I remember reading that WW didn't have you count some fruits/veggies).

It's just an estimate. Log what you normally eat for a while and confirm that you are actually eating 1400 calories a day & maintaining. If you are maintaining and you want to lose, lower it by 500 calories.

A lot of times when people are at a healthy weight but not satisfied with their body they focus on recomposition in which you would actually eat at or slightly less than maintenance while incorporating strength training.

There are great threads on here with pics of results, you should check them out OP, but regardless, you probably shouldn't aim for more than half pound per week loss if you're already at a healthy weight.

Split it! Eat 250 less, and burn 250 more through exercise. :)

Weigh your food and monitor your intake for two weeks before you make any other decisions. Weight Watchers offers free foods and free foods do not exist. I'm around 90% certain you are consuming more than 1400 calories per day. If it turns out you truly are only consuming that little and not losing, you need to see a doctor right away because that's abnormal.

Are you currently weighing everything you eat and using that to calculate your points total? If your using measuring cups, your actual calorie count can be way off....meaning your eatin more than you think.

    .

She specified non exercise days...so she would be correct to eat back exercise calories.
