My bmi is 22 so I'm not overweight but I'm curious. If I wanted to lose 10 pounds at a rate of a pound loss per week, How long before I start to see a loss I'm in eating 500 calories below my tdee? My tdee is 2600 inc exercise (Fitbit) so if I'm eating 1900 calories for example, my projected weight loss should be a little over a pounds a week. If I do this from mon to the following Monday, the loss should reflect on the scales, right? I've been doing this for the past week and weigh in tomorrow. I really do not want to be overly disappointed if I don't lose so wanted to know if it's normal not to lose fora few weeks for the body to play catch up outwork out what's going on

You might have lost more, you might have lost less - at first the body can be a little unpredictable, but for me by week 3 I started seeing a steady loss (I'm losing at about 0.25-0.3kg/week) so keep it up!
Remember that a loss is a loss and just stick to it no matter what the scale says!

That's hugely reassuring. Thanks!0

No problemo! It's always really hard at first so anything I can do!0

I was taught to also measure your waist. You may loose inches and see no weight change.0

What are your stats? Your activity level / workout programme?
That's a fairly high TDEE for a female at a BMI of 22, are you particularly tall / active?
That said weight loss is not linear0 -
Sorry, should've been more specific. I'm 5' 7 and on my feet all the time. Walk 10-15k steps daily and workout 4x a week with Kettlebells and interval training for 50 min, burning 550-600 calories (wear a heart rate monitor) does it still seem too much tdee? Hope I'm not inputting details wrong0

OK
Your HR Monitor is not giving you an accurate burn because interval training <> steady state cardio - I would halve those to begin with and monitor your weight loss over 6 - 8 weeks and adjust based on how your body works
at 5'7 and 141lbs I would imagine even with 10-15K steps that's an overestimate
Scooby puts you at at around 2350 - http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/
for context - I'm 5'8, 160lbs at maintenance, BF 23% (so decent musculature)
I walk around 10K steps daily, work out hard 3 x a week
My TDEE is around 2200-2400 based on actual analysis over the last year
I'm not saying yours can't be as high as 2600 but if you aren't losing as much weight as you imagine over 6 to 8 weeks you will know to adjust it0 -
thanks rabbitjb! I'll do what you suggest and amend accordingly if I don't lose as expected. Thanks again0

You're welcome. Good luck
you may like lnking to a trend tracker - there's apps like Happy Scale and Libra and sites like www.trendweight.com0 -
Weight loss is linear if you consistently eat at a deficit. You will see results very quickly if you consistently eat at a deficit.

Over time - ie tracking over 8 weeks possibly with trendline smoothing
Week by week - it's not
but then, I think you know that but are enjoying your new agitator status0
