Anyone getting good results from losing weight on iifym?

I'm thinking of giving it a go. I tend to eat more carbs and fat than I should, and consume less protein so am setting up my diary for 40c/35p/25f. Does this seem OK to lose body fat and maintain muscle mass on a 500 caloric deficit? I plan to eat nutritious foods 90% of the time. Any other pointers for me?

Eat unprocessed, whole foods. 15c/20p/65f for sure.0

It's all about balance. No particular macro split is superior; if you feel good, energetic, satisfied and easily stick to your calorie goal (the primary goal), you are eating well. A minimum of protein and fat, calculated from your weight (estimated lean body mass), is often recommended, but with lots of different opinions to the actual numbers. The calorie deficit will take care of the fat loss, strength training protects the muscles. Focus on a wide variety of whole foods, and you are most likely eating healthily.0

I've been counting macros and it's worked for me. I have some thyroid problems I'm currently working through so my loss is slow as molasses. The best part of IIFYM is that I'm not hungry because I get plenty of protein, but I always have room for treats or favorites. I can eat anything I want, but not necessarily in one day. And the focus on macros instead of just calories reminds me that the types of foods matter for satiety.0
