To get some pre-run carbs (and not too filling) into me when a training run is going to happen over suppertime? I was reading labels and trying to find something decently high in carbs for energy - and all I could find that fit the bill were the meal replacement bars (which was kinda funny as I am using them as a snack to…

First Full before 40 - Keeping a promise to myself
I made a promise to myself when I took up running 6 years ago that I would run a full by 40. I turned 39 a few weeks ago and the first thing I did – sign up for a full marathon in September. I am elated and terrified all at once. I also signed up for a training group, so here’s hoping I don’t break that promise to me :)

Logging on vacay...yay or nay
Going on a hot holiday to an all inclusive resort. I have worked really hard logging and exercising and close to my ideal...really just to the point of toning up a bit. When I go on vacay I don't log. I make some healthy choices, never eat to feel stuffed...just satisfied. And, of course, there are the drinks (rum punch…

Can someone explain Stronglifts 5x5 to this wet noodle?
I am the wet noodle, which is how I lovingly describe my arms. I keep seeing all over the boards about Stronglifts 5x5 and people doing this. What is it? Do I need to buy a program? Can I do it at the gym? Is is a total body strength/muscle program (meaning should I incorporate other weights into it)? Will it help me to…

Do you dread eating out now?
I have become so obsessive with weighing and measuring and portions, my cals/macros, etc. that when I am invited to go out for lunch I just hate it, becasue I can't calculate it with my method. My wedding dress won't fit

I lost my dancy class rythym when I started to run :(
In my 20s I took "dancy" areobics classes and I will say I rocked at them - I could do the steps, I added in all the extra moves - I had rythym. As I recently learned - 10 years have passed since that time. I have been really focussing on running - still go to the gym, but my cardio is on machines (other than running).…
