Is Slimfast the only way....

To get some pre-run carbs (and not too filling) into me when a training run is going to happen over suppertime? I was reading labels and trying to find something decently high in carbs for energy - and all I could find that fit the bill were the meal replacement bars (which was kinda funny as I am using them as a snack to tie me over until my later on supper).

If you have any tips for a 4:00 pm pre-run snack, please let me know!
