Newbie loss, plateaus and weight loss math... With graphs:)
Hi there, I work with numbers for a living and when I started this journey 2 months ago I decided to gather as much "data" as I can in order to figure this weight loss thing out - I weigh myself daily and keep track of calories in and out. Since I've seen a lot of posts from disheartened people that feel they're…

Ladies: How many lbs have you lost to drop a bra band size?
I'm hoping to find someone who's tracked their underbust measurements and could tell me how many lbs per underbust inches have they lost. I keep wondering if I should buy new bras with smaller cup or it's worth waiting to see if I drop a band size first.

A Yoga program from beginner to advanced?
Hi there, I'm looking for suggestions for DVD series I could follow to take me from a beginner yogi to an advanced level. Before you suggest classes - which I am well aware are the BEST way to learn such practices - I live in a village and there's no Yoga class I can attend. So I'm turning to the next best thing - DVDs /…

For the nerds in you! TDEE estimation, with graphs :)
Hi there again! I'm a hopeless data lover - I believe the best way to deal with a problem is to study and understand it, because then you can control it, and I've been approaching weight loss the same way - by weighing myself daily and keeping an accurate journal (to the best of my abilities). I've already posted some…

Week 3 stats! 11/14
I've been eating just under maintenance all week and haven't lost any more "fat", but I've still been shedding some of that depleted-fat-cells-filling water. Of course, as soon as I eat few calories over maintenance I "gain" all the glycogen-store related water (about 4 lbs), so my "real" weight is about 122lbs. 10/24:…

Week 2 stats! 11/07
Hey, I know it's still 6th for most of you, but it's 7th afternoon for me:P 10/24: 55.9kg (123.2lbs) 10/31: 55kg (121.2lbs) 11/07: 54.25kg (119.6lbs) Lost 1.6 lbs in 2 days, finally shed some of that water. I love it when it happens!:) That being said, I'm going into maintenance (I'll try to still create a deficit with…

At goal weight. Ways to improve w/o access to gym/weights?
Hi there, I'm yet another one that reached her goal weight (21 BMI), at about 23% BF according to the impedance scale, and is a bit lost on what to do next. I'm not happy with my body, I still feel pretty fat despite being in the best shape I've ever been in, and at the lowest weight since I was 13 years old. I'm finally…

At what BMI / BF% were you able to wear shorts?
Hi there ladies, I know many of us would like to be able to wear a pair of shorts confidently. I was wondering, for those who made it (I've seen quite a few success stories "after" pics in shorts), around what BMI/BF% did that happen? When did those inner thighs say good-bye to each other and got toned enough for public…

Fat but flat belly turning into hard belly sticking out?
Hi there, I've been dieting and exercising for 2 months and had a very steady result in both weight and inches loss overall. I'm not very big so changes are small but noticeable. Overall my body is going from, as I used to call it, "jelly body" to being "hard" at touch - back, thighs, bum and abdomen - and measurements…

Confused about calorie math
Hi there. I'm from the side of the world that uses kgs and cms, so, when trying to convert the golden "3500 calories for one pound weight loss" rule, I got terribly confused: 1 kg = 2.2 lbs, thus 1 kg weight loss = 3500*2.2 = 7700 cal But 1g of fat = 9 cal, thus 1 kg of fat = 9000 cal Thinking it's a matter of "energy…

Water weight / weight loss stalls
Hi there everyone, Just looking for some reassurance/confirmation :) I've just started Insanity recently. Before this I had been losing my steady pound per week without miss for 2 months. Now, right after starting Insanity, I'm finding myself 3 pounds up and staying steady (yes, water weight retained in my healing muscles,…

Strange NSV
I play the piano (badly) every now and then. It helps me relax and release my anger on something that doesn't have feelings - although I expect I might victimize some of the passers-by... Oh well. I've only been playing for a few years, I have no technique to speak of and my finger muscles are nowhere near strong enough. I…

Almost done with 30DS ... worried about the future
Hi, 4 days left of 30DS - time for new goals and plans. I was wondering what are your plans for after finishing 30DS? I would certainly hate to see all that hard work be lost, but I can't decide what to start next...

Wait... what??
So I've done my weekly measurements and I seem to have *gained* 1 cm everywhere. I can shrug off the waist and blame my big dinner but the hips and thighs?... Now that's a shocker. I am losing weight at the rate predicted, I'm doing my workout and I'm right on track on my calories. I expected to see what I see every week -…

Shouldn't I get "tighter"?...
I think the dieting is finally getting to me, I'm definitely going through an emo phase right now. I *know* it's all going well, my body looks better, the tape measure shows a (modest) improvement, even the scales agree. And yet I feel i'm flabbier somehow - especially my belly and my arms that look and feel like they're…

More of the same... At what BF% to start building muscle?
Hi, Inspired by all the threads where people are wondering if they're ready to go at a calorie surplus to gain muscle or they're not quite there yet, I was wondering if there are any guidelines on where a female should do so BF%-wise? Any personal experiences maybe?

Tanita BF% measurements
Hi, I have a Tanita scale at work that measures BF%. I know it's very inaccurate (it shows me values anywhere between 26% and 29% during the same day), but I've seen some comments in the forums from users that have the same type of scales, so I was wondering if any of you have found a way to get slightly more consistent…

Excercises to make chest ribs less visible?
Hi, I'm a bit disgruntled at the fact that whenever I lose a bit of weight my ribs on the upper chest area start showing in a rather unflattering way. I've overheard male friends discussing how to train their chest muscles in order to get a nice round shape and I was wondering if that's something that could solve my…

Any way to increase bilateral symmetry?
Hi everyone, I've recently joined with the purpose of toning up my body. I'm a complete fitness beginner, I don't have access to a gym and frankly my main goal is just to develop a habit of running for 30 minutes 3 times a week, which is something I have been doing for almost a month now. Although I have nowhere near…
