Clumsy Man Attempting Yoga
Hey everyone. I've been doing yoga for about a month and it's probably the most challenging exercise I've ever done. I use a DVD which I try to follow and I find myself stumbling all over my living room. As much as I'd like to go to a yoga studio, I'm just flat out embarrassed. I'm afraid I might start stumbling all over…

Your Favorite Weightlifting Exercise/Least Favorite
What's your favorite weightlifting regiment? In other words, what movement do you think has provided you with the most noticeable improvement to your body. I hated weighted plank rows when I first started but now I love them. I've gotten lots of good shoulder definition that I didn't have before. It is now my favorite. My…

Questions for Those Who are into Yoga
Hi everyone, I have worked really hard the past year and a half to improve my upper body strength and have seen great results. However, I am still not quite satisfied with my overall core strength and I feel as though there's more that I can do. Many friends, particularly females, strongly recommend yoga and I think I'll…

"Bad" foods that are addictive
Almost all of you who have joined MFP (with the small exception of a few creepers and possible stalkers), are here to improve your diet and to work on becoming more fit. However, no matter how much progress many of us make, there's always one snack or some kind of junk food that can easily set us back once we get our hands…

Bob Harper/Super Burn Pure Strength DVD
Has anyone else out there tried this DVD? It has really helped me quite a bit in building my endurance and strengthening my upper body. This is one tough workout that will have sweating profusely within the first 7-10 minutes. I am still struggling in getting my waist down a few more inches but that's probably more…

Foods that can kill your diet
Hey, I'm just curious. Many of us are on MFP because we are either trying to lose weight or maintain our current weight level by monitorning food intake. However, there are some foods that can kill your day if presented to you to the point where it's useless to even count anymore. And if you do count, the results are going…

Gaining Weight from Weight Lifting
I notice that I have gained about 5 pounds in the last 2 weeks and it was right around the time I started a strict weight lifting regiment. I've always been more of a runner and am just now really getting into lifting weights but I'm a little bothered by the fact that I am gaining weight. Does any of you know if this is…

Co-workers that like to bring food to work
Anyone else out have this problem? Despite being adamant that you will not indulge in their sugary cookies, cakes, fried bread (aka donuts), they keep stopping by your desk anyway? Are they really showing good intentions by being thoughtful even though you tell them "no" constantly. I stepped away from desk the other week…

Celebrity doppelganger
Have you ever been told by someone that you look like someone famous. An actor/actress, musician, athlete, politician. Who is your celebrity twin. I've often been told that I look like R&B singer Tyrese. (even though I'm a good 13 years older than him).

Natural Blood Pressure Remedies
Hi, Anyone out there suffering from high blood pressure. i'm currently on meds and I hate taking them. I am looking for some alternative remedies so that I can once and for all get it under control. Too Obsessed?
I'm almost addicted to the myfitness pal app. I know it sounds like it might be a good thing but friends of mine are telling me that I am allowing it to run my life and I'm too rigid with my fitness and dieting habits. Anyone else out there getting any backlash from so-called "friends" or family about the same issue? Do…

Cold Feet
No, I'm not talking about backing out of a wedding at the last minute. :) Any of you out there have a problem with really cold feet while running when the temperature drops below a certain level? If so, what's the best thing to do to avoid this. I guess I could wear two sets of socks but I'm not sure if I can maintain good…

Pickle Juice
I've been training really hard for an upcoming marathon lately and I sometimes have issues with cramping up as well as dehydration, despite drinking sufficient amounts of water. Many fellow runners and others who are into high endurance training have recommended drinking pickle juice as a remedy against cramping and…

What/Who annoys you at the gym
Okay, I know many of you spend time at the gym and you've seen your share of interesting characters. What annoys you while you there? Here's a couple from me 1) People who parked their behinds on one of the weight machines without using them, probably on their cell phones or texting. 2) Folks who make all these obnoxious…

Who Inspires You at the Gym
Okay, Now that we discussed what annoys you, who inspires you. It doesn't have to be at the gym, it could be on a running trail or at the park. I spoke to a lady once who was 72 years old who was working the circuits and machines like she was 30. I was about to quit for the day until I saw her, I stayed an extra 30 minutes.

Signed up for full marathon
I completed a half Marathon back in March 2012 and am planning a full Marathon March 2013. Exercising in the Morning
I noticed that ever since I decided to stop hitting the doggone snooze button to get up and work out in the morning, the pounds are really starting to drop. Traditionally, I'd work out in the evening and see no real weight loss but now that I run, lift weights, etc in the morning before work, I see much more positive…

Pescatarian Diet
I have lost a total of 15 lbs since I started using Myfitnesspal. Since May, I have been on a diet of vegetables and seafood (by definition, I'm a "pescatarian not a vegetarian) and the pounds have started to melt away. I only have about 5 more pounds to go (I'm currently at 185 and I'm 6'1") and it's great to see the…

Here I go again
I was very successful in losing over 30 pounds over a two year period from 2007-09. However, I gained much of it back and would like to lose an addtional 15 pounds (now at 200). Not extremely overweight but enough to make me feel a bit sluggish and unmotivated throughout the day. I also like to exercise and compete and…
