Any Runners with Multiple Sclerosis?
I USED TO run. "USED TO" as in past tense. Almost ten years and 70 lbs past tense. I stopped running when I got pregnant with my fifth baby and had morning sickness all the time. Now I would like to do something like the Couch to 5K plan to get back to it, but my doctor said I am not supposed to get hot enough to raise my…

Which Volumetrics book would you recommend?
I saw a segment on the news years ago where a group of firemen lost weight by replacing their normal doughnut or muffin with LOTS of other foods for the same amount of calories. The idea is that while you would wolf down the original item and probably still want to eat more, with the replacement you will usually quit…

Nutritional Info for Chicken Thighs
When I looked up how many calories were in 8 oz of boneless skinless chicken thighs in the database it ranged from 260 - 480. That's a BIG difference that can change whether I'm over or whether I'm under my calorie allotment for the day. Does anyone know what the correct info is? Thanks

Family-friendly things to do in Boston?
When we go on our family camping trip in the fall we will be coming back through Boston. I've checked Yahoo Travel and got the Massachusetts visitor guide for things to do, but I was wondering what someone from the area would recommend. We are on a budget so I don't want to waste money on tourist attractions unless they…

Just for Tam - Favorite BOARD games
So what's everyone's favorite board/card game? We LOVE games! Some of my favorites are Settlers of Catan and expansions, Slamwich, Apples to Apples. Rio Grande Games and Mayfair Games have some really neat ones. You can find them online or at specialty game shops.

New Kitten - name ideas?
Yesterday our four month old baby goat was killed by a dog, so today we got the kids a little kitten. It is gray, black, and white with white feet. Very cute and playful and I'm not even a cat person. Anyway, she needs a name. Any ideas?

How much for a Nintendo Wii?
Hubby wants me to bid on a Wii this evening while he is at work. What did y'all pay for yours and what would be a reasonable bid. Looking at one with 2 remotes, 2 nunchucks and the set of 5 sports games and the additional 9 Wii Play games. Help please! Don't want to waste money if I can get it cheaper. Thanks.

Somebody other than family...
noticed that I'm not as big as I used to be. As I was going into church yesterday, my assistant pastor's wife said, "You look like you've lost weight." Anyway, that just made me happy. 22 pounds down.

Spent all afternoon at the doctor's office
My four year old angel daughter tripped while pushing her stroller and crushed her fingers between it and the cement this afternoon and the force split her fingers open. Had to go to the doctor right as hubby had to go to work so had to take all five of the kids. Three fingers just had to be cleaned and bandaged, but one…

Rounding myself up into starvation mode???
Maybe I've just hit a plateau or maybe there's another reason I didn't lose anything this week. :grumble: Whenever I eat anything I always round up - if I have almost a cup of something I enter it as a cup, if I have something that's 97 calories I round up to 100, if my two year old eats six bites of my English muffin I…

I didn't eat the pound cake
My mom makes the best pound cake in the world  and she gave my family some because she and my dad are going to Italy for the month. One of my sons didn't care for it, so there was his piece just calling me to eat it. I fully intended to - even looked up an average of pound cake calories, but I DIDN't EAT IT.…

Y'all talk about that?
Last night, my husband walked by the computer when I was on here and asked, "Who's that?" I told him, "You know, my fitness pals." He wanted to know how y'all were doing, but he was surprised when my answer included not only "diet" topics, but also personal things like upcoming weddings, expected babies, friend's deaths,…

My new favorite breakfast
Well this is more of a recipe idea than a recipe, but its sort of like a Greek salad in an omelet. Its low-cal, but very filling. I love it. Omelet made with one egg, teaspoon water, cooked in non-stick pan with cooking spray seasoned with Greek seasoning filled with: 2 cups raw spinach - steam and drain 1/2 roma…

I cut 200 calories off my favorite splurge.
When I go grocery shopping for the week, I usually splurge with the rotisserie chicken salad from the deli. Its very creamy so I know its probably crazy high in calories. They don't give nutritional information (wonder why? )but since straight mayo would be 400 for half a cup I know I'm at least under that because…

Well I was reading through some posts and thought, "I wonder why Banks hasn't left any replies? I'm loving MFP!
I started a couple of weeks ago and I am loving MFP! While I realize that we are responsible for fueling our bodies with healthy foods and that our calorie allotments are a license to eat 1,400 (or whatever your amount is) worthy of junk, it is nice to realize that occasionally it is okay to plan to have a treat without…

Curse of the Nasty Chicken Nuggets Triumphed by the BDCNSALF
Okay, so I've been doing REALLY, REALLY good since I started this time. I wasn't even having that hard of a time. Right now hubby and most of my kiddos are sick so we didn't go to my mom's for lunch yesterday like we usually do. Hubby said to just pick up something on my way home from church so I wouldn't have to cook. He…
