Spent all afternoon at the doctor's office

My four year old angel daughter tripped while pushing her stroller and crushed her fingers between it and the cement this afternoon and the force split her fingers open. Had to go to the doctor right as hubby had to go to work so had to take all five of the kids. Three fingers just had to be cleaned and bandaged, but one had to have six deep stitches. Then had to wait at CVS for her antibiotic prescription. Not a fun afternoon. Seeing my baby in so much pain made me stomach roll but I'm an emotional eater too. Struggling between not eating at all or eating everything in sight. As for her, she is getting whatever she wants the rest of the night.

Awwww! Poor baby! I am really sorry to hear that happened. I'm not sure how I would be if my son got hurt badly. Either a wreck or I would go into "super mom mode"

    Hugs!!

Thanks everyone. She is sitting here with me and is enjoying looking at everyone's pictures. She thinks Sarge is a doctor.

So sorry about what happened. When my son was a toddler, somehow he got his finger in the back of my bedroom door as I shut it and the top part of his finger was cut half off. He had to have it sewn back on. I was horrified. For weeks I couldn't walk through my bedroom door without having flashbacks of his poor little finger. Now he's 21 but you can still tell his fingernail doesn't grow quite like the others. Give your poor little one extra hugs and kisses from me too. God bless her little heart.

Thank you everybody. She is on a schedule of antibiotics and painkillers and I let her have a Sprite which I rarely allow and she got to watch Tigger so she went to bed fairly happy though she informed me it still hurt REALLY, REALLY bad. I just popped two Excedrin Migraine and am splurging with a Diet Pepsi so I'm feeling better too. Ate apple and cheese slices for supper so I didn't blow it for the day after all. Thanks for making a bad afternoon better.

I have 5 kids too, and believe me, we have seen the inside of the emergency room often:laugh: And it usually happened either on vacation, or the day before! Chins, eyebrows, fingers, more chin splits. Finally, one doctor told me, "Look, this is the same exact stuff as super glue." As long as the cut wasn't too deep or too long, now I just clean it out, put super glue on it and stick a butterfly bandage over it. Presto, good as new and no scar!
