disgusted with myself and venting....
So between 5/25 & 6/17 I lost 7 pounds of muscle, gained 11 pounds of fat for an overall gain of 4 pounds. I lost 72 calories off my BMR and gained 15 years on my metabolic age. Why, do you ask? My awesome new job! I really like working there, but the fringe benefits are killing me! I have access to FREE cookies. Some of…

Lifting heavy questions for you
Over the past two months I have incorporated lifting weights down at the gym into my exercise routine. I cut back on cardio (only running 3 days a week) and am lifting 4 days a week. I have not read any books, don't work with a personal trainer and need a little advice from the more experienced people. Background info....I…

I am not used to consuming water, as I don't like the taste of it. In the past month, I went from consume about 4 glasses of water…

foot injury....photo
I was doing a weighted calf raise last week and noticed pain in my foot. I used to call this spot my "little ankle" but now have determined it to be (I think) the navicular tuberosity. Anybody have any experience with injury to this body part? There was never any noticible crack, pop, tear or immidiate pain, so I don't…

Besides water, what do you drink.....
Besides water, what do you drink to stay hydrated? I am looking for ideas that don't involve aspartame. I switched from coolaid to Crystal Light, but I think the aspartame is playing with my insomnia and acid reflux. Have never been much of a tea drinker. I used to drink a ton of cherry coke, but dropped that cold turkey…

logging activity as "1 calorie burned"
I have seen some people here that log in their activity as "1 calorie burned" as opposed to entering it as what they actually burned. I have heard several explainations as to why, from "so it doesn't mess with my macros" to "so I don't have to eat back my exercise calories"..... Can anyone help me understand this?

advice...body compostion analysis
Last week I wasn't feeling quite right. I am not sure if I was fighting some bug, lack of sleep (my husband has been keeping me awake with his bad back) or not enough calories. I had no energy, felt icky and achey and NO motivation to do anything. Getting myself to the gym was such a chore and I felt SO unproductive while…

Does anybody change the daily fats on their calorie/nutrients Because I eat a healthy amout of almonds and walnuts, I am always over on poly and mono fats. Is this a bad thing? On my mobile application, it says I shouldn't be eating any poly or mono. My weekly totals for polyunsaturated fat is 36 and my monounsaturated fat…

Your thoughts please................ Today I just finished off w3d3 of c25k. It was a struggle for me. I don't know if maybe I should repeat the week, or try w4 and see what happens. Towards the end of my 3 minute segments, my chest starts getting tight and my heart rate goes up between 177-180, which is max for me. I have…

So when you know you are retaining water (from too much sodium and DOMS) and you have a weigh in/measure in, do you skip that week, record it as normal, or wait a few days? Inquiring minds want to know.

We love snow days!
We have 6-8" of fresh snow on the ground this morning! The kids are happy because there is no school. The dogs are happy too! Took them for a walk out to the empty lot behind our house and the snow is up to my knees in some spots.

(7 lbs) water weight?!?
Hello Groupees! Watching what I eat and exercising are new to me. Saturday was a big workout day for me (went to a trampoline park with a friend for a workout class - burned 600+ cals in @50 minutes). Sunday is always a rest day. Sometimes I might take the dogs for a walk just to get out, but really no much activity at…

The "perfect food"
Is there such a thing as the perfect food? You know...the one that supplies you with the exact amout of macronutrient in the right percentages. Like 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat. Has anyone invested in any of the apps you can sync MFP to? I am looking for feedback on the BodyMedia FIT LINK armband. You can sync it to MFP. It helps track you calories burned and your sleep, although I am not sure how it monitors your sleep. Linda
