Dr Hyman's 10 Day Detox?
My mom said I should read this book about eating healthier and doing a 10 day detox. I've read some of it so far and I decided to give it a shot. I was in the grocery store for a good 2 or so hours making sure I had all the ingredients lol. Anyway I really think it can benefit me because I am a terrible eater. I can't seem…

Thoughts on HIIT workouts (High intensity interval training)
I did my first turbo fire HIIT workout today and I loved it! It flew by and Iiked how you did a basic combo routine then the same only a lot faster. According to Turbo Fire's information, it's supposed to burn more calories even when you are resting then if you were exercising on machines at a gym let's say. Now I haven't…

21 Day Fix, help to eat better?
I'm really going back and forth on ordering the 21 Day Fix. I seriously need help with an eating plan because I know that's why I'm not losing weight anymore. However I'm not really interested in doing the workouts that are included (because I do turbo fire, Turbo jam, and PiYo already). Should I order this program and try…

Should I buy Piyo??
I'm really going back and forth on ordering Piyo. First off I love Chalene and have had much success with her programs. I do a lot of cardio and little to no strength training since I pretty much bounce from turbo fire to turbo jam. I throw in Shaun T's Rock it Out weight workout but that's it. I read about Piyo and it…

FitBit? body bug? I need an HRM!
I've heard of so many heart rate monitors but I just need a simple effective one to track calories burned. I'm very good logging my food for the day but I can't be sure how many calories I'm burning or how accurate website "calorie calculators" are. I feel like if I had a fitbit or bodybug I hear so much about I'd have a…

Can't stop snacking and losing my portion control!
So I'm starting to make poor food choices and can't stop snacking at night. I'm still doing well exercising, it's just the diet I'm going down hill with. I am just noticing that I'm eating more, not necessarily always bad food, just too much. I'll have some hummus and crackers or with carrots but I can't stop. Or I'll have…

How do you log in Ab Jam (Turbo Jam)?
I have a heart rate monitor but for the life of me I can't figure out to get the heart rate part of the watch to unlock-therefore it's become useless so I don't really know my heart rate. I was wondering if someone could give me a general number of calories burned during this workout? I'm 28, 5'2 and 128 pounds. Thanks :-)

Doing more than one Beachbody workout a day?
I never thought I'd be up to it or actually want to, but I find myself doing more than one workout a day now. I may do 40 mins of Turbo Fire then 30 mins of Shaun T Rockin Body. I used to follow the turbo fire schedule but now I find I'm enjoying mixing things up. Do you find you aren't always satisfied with one workout…

Trouble doing standing Ab exercises! (Shaun T)
So I've successfully done standing ab exercises with Chalene in "ab jam" from the turbo jam workouts, but I want to try some new moves. I have another standing Ab workout by Shaun T-Hard Core Abs. I had a lot of trouble really feeling like I was doing the moves correctly. It was fun but I was annoyed enough at myself that…

How to make a Hybrid workout program??
So I've been doing Turbo Fire for 4 weeks just about and I love it, but I have Turbo Jam and Shaun T Rockin Body workouts. I was thinking about mixing the workouts up that way I'm getting the most out of all 3 of these programs-however I don't want to change the progress I've made so far. I did my first Shaun t workout…

Accidentally sent Shaun T's Rockin Body-anyone try it?
I sent away for Turbo Fire and they sent me Shaun T's Rockin Body instead. Now of course I called and now have my Turbo Fire (yay!) but the lady on the phone said I wouldn't need to return the Rockin Body. I've never tried Shaun T's workouts before but figured I might as well since I have it now. I was gonna try the Rock…

Losing Weight or Losing Inches or both?
At first when I started my diet and exercise plan I went on to lose 20 pounds but now I'm not losing anymore. However I took my measurements around my waist last week and then yesterday and I lost an inch off my waist. Is it more important to focus on losing the pounds or inches? I never took my measurements in the…

Trying to live Low Carb, but carbs are everywhere!!
So I've been struggling for months trying to live low carb or almost no carb because I know carbs cause fat to be stored in your belly. I eat only whole wheat, but it seems like after I check my nutrition chart the carbs are always 50 or more percent of my meals for the day. I mean should I disregard it if I'm eating whole…

Heart Rate Monitor and Calories Burned
So I decided to go out and buy a heart rate monitor so I can get a more accurate idea as to how many calories I'm really burning. Has anyone used heart rate monitors during their workouts and did you find it was more accurate in comparison to just guessing? I for instance looked up how much I thought I was burning with one…

Follow Turbo Fire schedule or mix with other workouts?
So I just started turbo fire yesterday and I love it. I'm trying to decide if I should follow the strict workout schedule or mix it up with turbo jam. I love turbo jam but it's saying if you follow the schedule exactly you could lose a lot of weight faster. I wanted to ask if you've done turbo fire, did you follow the…

Love Turbo Jam, considering Turbo Fire?
So I recently decided to get back into my Turbo Jam workouts. I always loved them and Chalene and recently read about Turbo Fire. How is it in comparison to Turbo Jam? Are the moves similar? It sounds intense from what I've read and I want to change up my routine since I'm now stuck in the upper 120s and I'm trying to get…

How beneficial are food scales?
I felt silly even considering buying a food scale, but I know myself and I know I'm fibbing a bit when I say I ate 50 calories (a tablespoon for example) of hummus. But I want to stop lying to myself and maybe using a food scale would be a way to finally lose that last bit of weight. Perhaps I'm struggling not because of…

Good workout shoes for cardio? Toe pain?
So I bought these nice new balance shoes and have been using them for my workouts (turbo jam). They are comfortable (although they do say they are running shoes) but I got them at Marshall's so they didn't have a big selection. My problem is yesterday I was doing a workout and my left toes started feeling like they were…

Kind bars, good snack for losing weight?
I usually eat one kind bar a day (I prefer the chocolate peanut butter one). Would you say kind bars are a good snack choice when trying to lose weight since they are generally filling and have a lot of protein? The ones I buy are 200 calories but if it's filling I think it's ok to eat. Thoughts?

To all the mommies, did your "loose skin" tighten up?
So I'm a mother of 1 and I did a very poor job monitoring my weight when I was pregnant. I treated being pregnant and as a great excuse to eat whatever I wanted. As a result, I was 5'2 and almost 200 lbs. After I had my daughter I had that dreaded loose skin flab that just hangs there. I am starting to see real definition…

Best and/or Favorite Ab workouts?
I need to change up my exercise routine and I'd like to focus on my abs. Are there any good workouts that anyone is really into that really made a difference for them? I just do basic exercises like bicycle, crunch, plank and side plank you know..but I'd love to really tighten up this area of my body. Any suggestions?

High calorie meal but low in carbs/sugar, still healthy?
So I always have a hard time finding a filling meal for lunch since I'm on the low carb diet. I usually go to quick check for lunch but I'm always careful to look at the nutrition facts and log them in to my food diary. I ordered a regular salad with tuna and oil and vinegar yet it goes from 250 calories to 670 and all I…

Plateau! Tips on how to lose the last 10 pounds?
I started at 148 lbs when I began this new lifestyle and began mfp. I've lost 18 pounds since April 1st but can't seem to break into the 120s. I work out about 6 times a week varying from 10-30 mins depending on my schedule. I also try to avoid carbs and continue to eat healthier but I've been stuck for at least a month.…

Hi everyone, 28/f trying to lose 20 lbs!
Well I found myfitnesspal through my dad. I love it and faithfully use it everyday! When I first started I was 148. Now I'm 140 which is great but I can't seem to get out of this range! I'm 5'2, female 28 yrs old, and proudly from New Jersey by the way :-) I don't exercise much but that's because I work a lot during the…
