Calories burned by legs bums and tums class?
I'm doing one of these tomorrow, does anyone know how many calories I will burn in 1 hour? I weigh 118 pounds.

Capoeria
Has anyone tried this? I did a class on Saturday and I LOVED it! It was really good fun and while it was hard work, felt more like play than regular exercise. It worked too - I'm still having trouble walking today!

Calories burned by kick boxing
Hi all I'm doing my first kick boxing class this afternoon and thought I'd see how many calories it would burn - I was amazed to discover it will be 533 calories in 1 hour! I can't believe it's this much, even my aerobics class is only 348 cals burned and that kills me! Is it really that hard? I'd love to hear from someone…

Please help me get motivated!
I've been eating too much in the last week and I don't know why  It's not even that I'm letting myself get hungry - it's just like the food is there and I can't stop myself eating it. I've been doing so well and only have 7 pounds to reach my goal, and I'm so scared I'll fall at the last hurdle and put the weight back…

What is Cool Whip?
I keep seeing this come up in recipes but I'm in the UK and don't know what it is! I'm guessing it's some kind of low fat synthetic whipped cream, am I correct?

Wonderful wonderful exercise!!!
You know those people who actually enjoy working out? Well I used to think they were a bit strange... but I seem to be turning into one of them! I joined my local gym about 2 weeks ago and have just done a workout - and honestly, I feel amazing! I've spent the last couple of days moping about over my ex (who wasn't right…

Flax Pancakes
This is my first recipe posted on here, I hope you all like it! I got the recipe from a South Beach forum, it makes a great breakfast or dessert and feels really indulgent. It's also pretty good for you and quite filling. I like to serve it with fresh berries, low fat plain yogurt and some sugar free maple syrup, but they…

Rate of loss is greater than expected!
According to MFP I will lose an average of 1/2 pound a week if I stick to my calorie limit. But interestingly I lost 2 pounds this week! Admittedly, I put on 1 pound the week before which I think was water weight, so that accounts for some of the loss. But I still lost twice as much as expected! Has this ever happened to…

Aqua aerobics
I did a class today and it was great! It was a mixture of cardio and strength training, since you have to move against the water. I really worked my arms and thought it was much better than conventional aerobics because it's gentler on your joints and you use more muscles. It didn't burn loads of calories (218 per hour)…

Anyone else slightly scared by their maintain calories?
I just found out my maintain calories for when I reach my goal weight - they're only 1430 a day! I'm eating about that amount now (though some are my exercise calories so I should be losing, albeit slowly), and this has really brought it home that this way of eating is for LIFE. Never will I be able to go back to eating…

Addicted to exercise!
Ok, that's a slight exaggeration  But I seem to have suddenly developed a real taste for working out! I used to be someone who did virtually no exercise (though I have been walking for 30 minutes a day for the past few months) but after completing a 6 week yoga course (1 1/2 hours a week) I joined my local gym 3…

Calories and Kilojoules
Most of you will probably know this already, but I read in one post recently that someone was confused about how many kilojoules are in one calorie (I think their HRM counted in kJ and they needed to convert it). Anyway - there are 4.2 kJ in one calorie.

Exercise and weight gain?
I know weight loss is never predictable, and I'm trying to lose 'the last 8 pounds' but I put on a pound this week and am so disappointed. I ate healthy food like I normally do (though since I joined this site I realised I was going over my calories so tried to cut back) and really upped my exercise - I've done 2 yoga…

Another exercise calories question...
...no, I'm not going to ask if I should eat them  I was wondering if they're worked out based on our individual weights, or if they are just general guidelines. I only weigh 119 pounds (I'm short!) and realise that I will burn less calories per hour than someone who weighs, say 150 pounds. Does anyone know?

Less than 100 calories cheesecake!
Ok, this doesn't taste like real cheesecake but it's very nice and good for a dessert or treat. If someone can tell me how to enter it into the database I will do so, otherwise the nutritional content is given below. It serves 8 but I had trouble sticking to just 1 slice so I froze the rest (I don't know how well it will…

Calorie limit is too low!
Since I joined this site I've cut down on my food and upped my exercise, but I'm still struggling to stay within my calorie limit. I did 80 minutes of yoga this morning and have eaten healthy food all day, but I'm about to eat my dinner and after that I will only have 40 calories left. That means I can't have my usual…

Looking for really filling recipes
Sorry if this has been covered before, I'm new to this forum. I'm struggling to stick to my 1200 calorie limit, even with my exercise calories. I was wondering if anyone had any good recipes that are low in calories but really filling (I hate being hungry). I like pretty much anything really, I'm not a fussy eater.…

I'm new and very impressed!
I was recommended this site by someone on a South Beach forum and I think it's great! Not only does it give me peace of mind that I'm not overeating, but I also find it a great way of motivating myself to exercise! By seeing how many extra calories I can eat every day, I feel inspired to get the exercise in (because my…
