I've been eating too much in the last week and I don't know why

It's not even that I'm letting myself get hungry - it's just like the food is there and I can't stop myself eating it.

I've been doing so well and only have 7 pounds to reach my goal, and I'm so scared I'll fall at the last hurdle and put the weight back on.

Does anyone have any good motivational tips for those moments when I'm tempted to cheat? I really want to reach my goal and stay there, so I will try anything!

get rid of the food. WHatever it is that is making u cheat shouldn't be in your home at all. get rid of it. It its HEALTHY food you're gorging on, you need to make a daily plan and NOT deviate from it. If you slip up don't be too hard on yourself, go for a run instead to burn off those extra calories. you can do it! only 7 pounds to go?! thats amazing!:flowerforyou:

I do plan my food in advance but sticking to my plan is the problem! I have been exercising a lot, in fact I went to the gym 5 times last week and I walk every day, but I've still gone over my calories.

I have thought about not having the tempting food in the house, but it's so depressing to think I can't have ANY treats. I'm not bingeing on huge amounts of chocolate or anything, it tends to be things like cereal, which is healthy in itself but not when you have 3 bowls in a row! I also eat 100 calorie ice creams, but I've been having them every day - if I cut those out, that would add up to 700 calories a week, which is quite a lot!

I just want to be NORMAL - to have food in the house but be able to control myself around it!

Oh, and thanks for the words of encouragment Kerri, it means a lot  You've done so well too, 23 pounds is great!

I hear you indigo...I sometimes do the same thing. Lately, I have been forcing myself to drink 2 glasses of water if I walk anywhere near the food that I craving and know that I shouldn't have. The great thing is that I get completely full and feel like I couldn't eat another bite! I also have a picture of myself up on the fridge that was taken when I was at my heaviest...talk about a motivator!! It really mades me back away fast:noway:

Keep up your chin. Drink lots of water and be sure and eat all the time...eat small healthy snacks all day long...that's how I lost the most weight the fastest. Since I have stopped doing this I have completely plateaued. I also need to start following my own advice again! Good Luck...you can do this!

Thanks, that's good advice and I'm glad it's not just me! I'll definitely try the idea of drinking water (I don't drink enough anyway) and I think I'll try eating more fruit too.
