Who uses the food/exercise notes section of their diary?
I've just started adding notes to my diary and I was wondering who else does the same. So far I'm finding it helps me workout how I feel about what I ate and how my body feels after eating it. The same with exercise.

Tips for an instructor?
I recently qualified as a PT, which is awesome, but the gym I'm working at wants me to lead some group classes, which isn't something I was really planning on doing. I'm up for the challenge, but as I'm someone who has only really ever taken part in the odd circuits session, I was wondering what tips any of you class-goers…

It's Official
I'm enrolled on a Personal Trainer course starting in September. It'll take me all the way up to a level 4 Obesity and Diabetes management specialist. How's that for extra motivation to lead by example! So excited!

I DID IT! :)
Okay so I never had more than 10 lb to lose, but I've been on and off MFP for 2 years now and this is the first time I actually reached my GW. In the past I aimed for lower numbers, set my activity level to sedentary and logged and ate every little bit of exercise I could. That worked short term but I was barely eating.…

Guilt-free clean eating flourless protein pancake recipe
Happy Pancake Day! We (my friends and I) were discussing pancakes all day yesterday without even realising pancake day was right around the corner. Now I’m about to share with you my own recipe for guilt-free clean eating pancakes which are full of protein and fiber. The beauty of this recipe is that the pancake is oven…

A different approach - success so far
First of all, I'll tell you all that I'm a bartender, so alcohol is part of my day to day life. That is what makes Dry February a bit of a big deal. A colleague and I are in the middle of a complete month off the alcohol. We have different reasons for doing this, mine being to see what a difference it makes to my mfp…

Disappointed
my plan today was a 1hr treadmill session followed by a session in the weights room, but by the time I got off the treadmill the weights room was heaving. I went to speak to a friend who was lifting, while I looked around for a space for me, but I ended up leaving. I'm disappointed in myself as I'm usually not intimidated…

Anyone work with alcohol? Bartenders etc?
I'm a bartender and while I can say no a lot of the time it's inevitable that I'll have a drink here and there. I try to fit it into my diary but I'm looking for other MFPers doing the same?

Stopping Smoking as a result of diet and lifestyle changes?
I was never a heavy smoker, and I noticed last Summer that I smoked a lot less whenever I was running often. Well this Summer I'm back on track with MFP, eating well and joined the gym. last week I just stopped buying more cigarettes. It's been 8 days without a cigarette. If I'm in the situation where I would usually have…

Caught myself overeating
Gave the rest to the dog. He's happy. I could be worse. Pat on the back and using it as motivation to go exercise tomorrow.

Does this count as a NSV?
My sister, who writes for a women's fashion and lifestyle magazine came to me this morning, to ask for a health/fitness/body image quote to add to the next issue. It will be printed alongside a photo of me. I'm chuffed that of all the people she knows it's me she comes to for an article on health and fitness. She's never…

Theoretically....
With an already low body fat %, so without worrying about abs being hidden by a layer of fat, would it be possible to get 6 pack abs from planks and side planks alone?

Bartending Calories
I recently started a new job as a bartender. Up until yesterday I logged my shifts as 'cooking, food preparation'. Out of curiosity I decided to wear my HRM to work yesterday. From 3-8 I cleaned toilets, took recycling out, restocked the bar and served happy hour customers. Not once was I without something to do, and I was…

Advice on Joining the Gym
I'm thinking of joining the gym in a month or 2 when I've made up for my recent holiday spending. I was a member of a gym once before, and I remember when I signed up they showed me a few things to do and gave me a checklist so I could track my workouts, but I never really got into it. The gym here is very small, and it…

Non-gym goers motivation
I'm not a member of the local gym. Maybe I will join one day, but for now I prefer to exercise for free. I snowboard and I run. They're both easy for me to motivate myself to do. Any strength exercises however, I might do once and then never again. I'm the girl that did day one of 30DS and no more. So to my fellow non-gym…

New Burn Goal - I challenge you to do the same
I wore my HRM up the mountain today, snowboarding. I went with some beginner friends so we had a very slow afternoon, but I was shocked at the number of calories I burned (and I paused it every time we stopped). Tomorrow I'm going to go up again, go for longer, or faster or do more difficult runs as my goal is to burn at…

Subtracting resting calories from HRM reading
I'm a little confused about the reading on my HRM. When I got it, I put it on while I sat and watched tv for an hour. It said I burned 170 calories. Does this mean that if I go running for an hour I should subtract 170 from the calorie count, since my body would have burned these anyway?

Yoga for Runners
I'm getting back into running again after a winter of snowboarding, and I was interested in cross training with yoga. Does anyone know what type of yoga I should be looking for? And should I do this after a run, later in the day or on different days? I won't be attending any classes, so I'm looking for youtube videos,…

You weigh HOW MUCH?
I bought a scale yesterday so I could weigh myself. I did, all was good, I put it away under the sink. My boyfriend then came home and disappeared into the bathroom for a shower. 2 minutes later he called out 'How much is 150lb?' I was shocked. He's about 6 foot tall and a builder. In my eyes he's big, strong and sexy. I…

But I love baking
I love baking. I really love baking. But I have no self control. I just made a healthy zucchini cake, and made a small version by quartering the recipe, but I ate the whole thing! Its still less than 700kcal for the whole cake, and I gave some to the dog too, but I'm so pissed off with myself. The day is still young, so…

One meal that suits both him and me
Okay, I need some ideas of healthy, filling meals that suit both me and my boyfriend. He is a builder who eats a lot and never puts on weight, I'm currently playing housewife and trying to lose a few pounds. I'm trying to find evening meals I can make for the two of us with very little effort. Last night I made chicken…

New relationships
i heard you weren't suppose to start dating when on a diet, but this isn't a diet, it's just making better choices. Anyway, I got back together with an ex about a week ago (another reason I thought all would be fine, the fact he's an ex) and I'm finding it almost impossible to stay on track. We've been eating out or…

Making myself accountable
so I'm announcing to the world, I will be racing in my local 10k trail running race next June. Yes it's a long time away, but I plan on doing more skiing than running this winter so I'll have to put in hard work from April onwards. It'll be my first race, but it's pretty much an extended version of my usual route anyway,…

Why did I not think of this before? Protein shake idea

Drunk munchies
what do you feed yourself when you stumble in drunk late atnight? I don't keep terribly bad foods in thehouse out of fear of drunk binging, so last night (I seem to remember) I cooked some onions and courgette, dropped an egg into it, added sardines in tomato sauce and pit the whole lot on a bed of quinoa. For my hangover,…
