Men, Running undies?
Support, chaffing, dryness. We all know the issues and problems. Do you run au naturel (under your running shorts), use lined shorts, or an under garment? If the latter, using an under garment, what is your brand/type of choice?

Calories burned running
Is it better to log running calories as the run, one hour and 57 minutes at an 11:30 pace, or just count the run as "steps" taken? Or does it really make no difference? Thanks. The question relates to CICO only.

First Half Marathon in September
So, so far, after my first two 5 K's (May 15 -29:09 & May 30 -28:28) I've entered another 5 K in July, a 4 Miler in August and a Half Marathon in September. My training routine is (more or less) Monday 5 miles @ a 10:20 mile pace; Tuesday, Cross training, a Fitness Blender routine focusing on lower body (35 to 45 minutes);…

A Presidential Connumdrum
I find it difficult to support either Candidate for President from the two major parties (now that Hillary is claiming victory). I am actively looking for an alternative (other than not voting at all which is a non answer). Really don't care if that person "has no chance of winning". That's not the point. The point is to…

New 5K PB. ;-)
So it was my second "race", still did a better time. 28:28 chip time, (down from 29:09). Mile pace 9:09; overall 527/1345; Gender placement 386/733; Division M 60-64 16/27. There are some real fast older guys out there. Winner of my division beat me by about 9 minutes.

Signed up for my first "race"
in about 20 years. The "Run the Hook" at Sandy Hook N.J. May 15. A 5K. They will also have a 10K but let's not get ahead of ourselves. "Race" is in quotes because, in my little mind, "Race" just means group run. Currently doing 4.75 miles at an average 10:35 per mile pace. Walking the first quarter as a warm up and the…

Half Marathon training, time and miles?
OK, I have my first 5K "race" scheduled for May 15. I am currently running 3 days a week (4.75 miles, 4.75 miles and 6.65 miles on Saturday). All times include a 1/4 walking warm up and about a 1/2 mile walking cool down. Averaging 10:15 minute miles for the 4.75 and 10:45 minute miles for the 6.65. What kind of…

Does running 4.75 miles count as "leg day"
or should I schedule a "leg day" in my weight sessions? During the cold weather months (I don't like running in the cold, judge if you want to) I don't run but lift 6 days a week alternating among upper, lower, core, total body and cardio. Now that I'm running three days a week do I schedule, and do, a lower body lifting…

Running socks?
Since 1969 I have been running, first in grade school then High School, College and U.S.M.C., with old style cotton/polyester blend socks. Went to a Running Store for new shoes (same price as the best price off Amazon) and the sales person asked if I used cotton socks. When I said yes, he asked if I got blisters. The…

Viili yogurt
Has anyone tried Villi yogurt, either store bought or homemade? Can you, should you, strain it like regular yogurt to make a Greek-like product? "She who must be obeyed" likes a more mild yogurt and I'm trying to accommodate her. Does Villi seem like a solution? Thank you for your replies, opinions and thoughts.

Who cooks using Greek Yogurt
in lieu of sour cream or Mayo? Or anything else, for that matter. Please share your experience and recipes. Adding nutritional values is a nice touch if easily provided. Thanks

First run(?) of the season
First, let me say I usually run(?) after work. The parenthesis question mark is to question my use of the term run. This will become clearer as I go along. Therefore, after daylight savings time is over in the fall, I stop for the season as it's just too dark to go out onto the streets. I know, wimpy. I get my cardio…

Dead Lift with Dumbbells, how do you do it?
First, I'm 61 years of age and everything I learned, (remember) about working out comes from the 70s. Some/most/all of that information is wrong, outdated, passé, has been updated, "we don't do that, that way anymore". I still remember that from the spring season of my High School Freshman year, when drinking water during…

Restuarant app?
I read, heard, or dreamed about a new "restaurant app" that will make logging restaurant meals easier. I seem to have trouble finding this app and, therefor, an unable to use it. Could someone help me out on this? Thank you

Unshelled peanuts
I like peanuts as a snack but how do you log unshelled peanuts? The data base is not clear. Are those figures for the shelled nuts or unshelled. I like them in the shell as it slows me down while enjoying them (feel the same about pistascios) Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Fitness Blender Users, I have a question
When you purchase one of their (Fitness Blender) programs ( 4 or 8 weeks) do you buy it forever or does it expire after the specified time period? I often will not adhere strictly to the schedule but will use the various days at various days as they may fit into my schedule, thereby using it for more than the 4-8 weeks.…

Does Chobani Apple Cinnamon Greek Yogurt with Oats taste sour?
Or did I get one past it's prime? 60 year old American male here trying the above, or any yogurt, for the first time. Do they all have a sout taste? Not saying it was terrible, just sour. Is this right? Do you all like the taste; put up with it because it's good for you, or; do something to change/modify the flavor? Did I…

1200 Calories per day MINIMUM
Please bear a question. That 1200 calorie minimum intake that everyone talks about; is that total calories eaten or NET calories eaten? i.e. I'm "allowed 2010 calories per day. I get "credited 500-900 calories per day exercising (I run/walk 4.3 miles three days a week and calisthenics on the others. My steps are tracked by…

Failure, mis-step or no biggie
12 days in and missed my first net calorie goal. Missed it by 170 calories. Hot day, BBQ at my house, cherry vanilla ice cream (locally made) just too good to pass up. Is this: 1. failure,2. a mis-step, 3. no biggie or 4. something else? At my second Sunday morning weigh in lost 2 more pounds for a total loss of 4 since…
