Getting, and using, your food scale for the first time and finding out that what you thought was 4 ounces of pork loin was really only three. Hurray for the extra ounce!

    About weighing food. I convinced my roommate that she could use less dishes if instead of measuring out a cup of rice, she could just pour the rice while the bowl as on the scale, to the appropriate weight...
