Macros and Weight Loss
Hey everyone I’m new to the whole Macro/ Calorie thing and I’m trying to loose weight. I have a lingering question about weight loss and loosing fat. In order to loose weight is meeting or staying under my macros for the day enough or am I supposed to be burning more calories than I consume? I’m open to any advice or…

Get Your Macros in Check
I’ve always eaten somewhat healthy for the majority of my 43 years of existence. However, I had some bad vices though out adulthood and never realized how easy it could be to get a six pack for f I actually quit those vices and counted macros. My fitness pal has made it super easy to not overeat. I’ve tried to track…

Net Carbs Not Calculated Correctly in Android App
I am a premium member and I rely on this app to calculate Net Carbs correctly. The problem is (confirmed by Myfitnesspal support) . The formula for Net Carbs = Total Carbs - (Fiber + Sugar Alcohols) . The android app does not subtract sugar alcohols, which totally skews my macro calculations. How can I be…

Check off as you eat
I would love a way to add a checkmark next to items after I eat them. I plan my entire day the day before and eating snacks throughout the day, sometimes forget what I have eaten and what I have left. Would love to be able to place a checkmark next to what I’ve eaten.

Macros and nutrients
Hi Everyone, I took the time today to study my nutrients. This program is for you to see for yourself how you eat if you use the tools. I use macro a lot to balance carbs, protein and fat with nutrients just getting a glance. Today, I was stunned to see so many zeros, especially with potassium, sodium and iron. A few…

Years of yo-yo dieting
Hi! I am not new to MFP. I used to use it religiously several years ago. I used it to track macros and calories and it worried for a while. It did help me lose 40+ pounds several years ago. During the lock down, I got into intermittent fasting. It worked but I am feeling burnt out too because I been doing IF for 2 years on…

Mackie Nutrition Scale?
I came across this scale while looking for something that I could bring on the road with me: https://www.mackiescientific.com/ Has anyone used this before? It looks like it has it's own food database plus you can add your own foods and recipes. I know that free apps can do the same, but the nice thing about this being in a…

New here because of Genopalate
I did Genopalate (have tried EVERYTHING short of bariatric surgery) and got my micronutrient recommendation along with a bunch of other fascinating info. They suggested MFP to more easily track nutrients. I've been at it less than 2 weeks. I'm an RN, and thought I was doing the right thing with my food intake ... just too…

IPA, antidepressants, menopause, and macros, oh my!
I've used MFP intermittently for a long time, with good results when I was younger. Then the accident and four major surgeries later my life is radically different. I used to be an endurance athlete....now I have to come in for a rest just from cutting branches in the yard! In the last 10 years I've gained about 10-15 lbs…

Not Wanting to Re-invent the Wheel
Can anyone share their "perfect" meal plan for one day or one week? I'm having a hard time hitting my desired macros. I know yours most likely won't match mine, but I'd like a starting point. Myfitnesspal doesn't remember my previous meals from a few years ago when I was more disciplined. *This question is going in tech…

Need some help meeting my macro goals!
Hello everyone. I recently suffered from some serious gallbladder attacks and kidney stones along with stomach ulcers, so I've changed my diet completely. I'm female, 5'6 and 245 lbs currently, and though I'd like to lose weight, I'm more trying to eat low fat, low cholesterol, low sugar and no dairy. I eat lots of veggies…

Breakdown of macros
I hate the new update on MFP. I can't tilt the screen to see the breakdown of macros anymore to show how much of what I'm consuming each meal. 🤬🤬🤬 Anyone else notice this change? Am I the only one upset?

Macro confusion
Hello, admittedly I have no idea what a healthy breakdown of macros would be for a keto vs low carb diet. What is best for maximum weight loss? Right now my daily limit is set for 900 calories which seems low.

Allow total macros consumed or macros left on diary overview
I'm using MFP to try to hit my protein goals each day, and stay within a calorie range. Rather than seeing an overview of my macros "left," counting down, I'd like to see a status of my macros consumed. This would allow MFP to be less diet focused for individuals who are taking a more flexible approach. I'll also find…

Myfitnesspal not syncing nutrition further back than when I got my iphone
So I’m just about to get an Apple Watch so I’m sorting all my data syncing with apple health before hand. I’m having one problem with myfitnesspal. But the problem is that very specifically the nutrional info I’ve tracked with myfitnesspal (calcium, iron, sodium, etc) is only syncing onto apple health back until around the…

Understanding Fat Goals
I am having a hard time tracking meals to be high calorie, lower fat. Even some of my meals show I have 21g of fat, but most of those are polysaturated and monosaturated. There might be 1g of saturated fat, no trans fats. Mind you, my alternative meals are very low fat, like a salad with maybe 1tbsp of dressing. I am just…

Could we get 6 macros to track instead of 5?
Hello, I was wondering if maybe the owners of this website would consider adding another slot to track macros? I would really want to track protein, but i'd have to get rid of either saturated fat, total fat, sugars, or sodium to do that which I feel is unoptimal. It's not even a paid feature from what I can tell to add…

Macros ratio
Hello, I'm on a calisthenic journey since 2021. I managed to lose 15 kg and build some muscles. Today I downloaded my fitnesspal app to calculate my macros and set some future goals : the question I have, the app set me a macro ratio of 50% carbs (around 230g , 30% fats, 20% protein) ; doesn't it seem like too many carbs…

What macros percentages do you use, and why?
I'm trying to decide what macros percentages I want to use. My goals are to eat better to manage PCOS (less refined sugar and refined carbs). I'm not sure what to choose since there's a lot of confusing information online about the relative health of various macro breakdowns and whether they lead to various diseases or…
