Period of Time For Weight to Go Up? and a TMI
So I'm still worried about this, and wondering whether this program is for me or perhaps I'm an outlier for whom it just won't work. Still at 1700-2000/day, usually closer to 1700-1800 this week. It has been just about three weeks for me. Weights 3X/week, walking 4-7 days/week in addition, and a regular lifestyle in the…

I Quit
Just no. Folks, thanks for being kind but I can't keep doing this. I am "obese" again. Keep gaining. AND measurements are up. If others can eat this way and lose or at least not gain, I am sincerely glad but I am an outlier. Thanks again for all the input and everybody hang in there.

Metabolism Reset - Eating at TDEE Support Thread
Alright ladies, this is our support thread for our metabolism reset. From reading and posting on several threads today it's clear that there are quite a few of us in the same boat here. Some of us are new to EMTWL. Some have been doing EMTWL for several months, but didn't do a metabolism reset in the beginning and now our…

Weight Gain During A Cut
Has anyone had this happen? I did a reset and my weight stabilized. I go into a cut and gain five pounds. What gives? Yes I log consistently, I use a scale, and I do not eat back exercise calories.

I Need Help :(
Help... :( I have been dieting since 1978. I was skinny before that (age 11) and suddenly ballooned. I did start eating more at that time...I remember that. I would eat while my mother was at work. She had been very controlling of my food. I got some freedom and took it. Weirdly, it wasn't as if I'd wanted to eat MORE…

Good News
So I started off such a whiny itch on here that I thought I'd share some good news and encouragement. I've been on this plan...well, it's not a plan exactly...what would you call this? Anyway, I've resolved to feed myself and work out for a little over a week now. And in that time: 1. I gained a pound, or thought I…

Anyone Have A Blog?
I started an MFP blog when I joined MFP and decided to update it with a weekly post on my journey with EM2WL. If anyone would like to look at it, it's here. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/cinblog1965/view/meal-planning-938758

Don't Have Access to Machines
I've been doing some light weights for a while now. I would be glad to heavy lift but I can't afford a gym membership at the moment. Any recommendations on what to do? I keep seeing this stress on heavy lifting. I'm not being lazy or cheap; if I could I would be in a gym. Thanks for any help!

Protein Tips
I've changed my exercise level to moderate now that I'm exercising more and trying to increase my strength. With a 15% cut I am at 1794 calories now. I'm having a hard time hitting my protein goal. I don't want to increase the chemicals (protein powder and bars) any more than I already have (a Zone Perfect bar for a snack…

Recalculating TDEE
So, I'm wondering. I didnt buy the starter kit, and the quick start guide is sorta vague. After a cut cycle, do you recalculate your TDEE for your current weight or go back to the original TDEE?

First cut complete
I just completed my first cut. Today I’m back to eating TDEE. I went with a 6 week cut to start slow. The 1st week I did a 5% cut then started subtracting 50 calories until I reached the 10% cut. I ate at 10% for 4 weeks. I’m a little disappointed with the fact I didn’t have a loss. I was hoping for half an inch around the…

Calculating percentage of macros vs grams of macros?
Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere on this site, but I can't seem to find this info anywhere here. I set my macros to 40% carbs, 30% fat and 30% protein...I believe this is what is recommended for EM2WL? My TDEE with 15% cut is 1779. According to my food diary, my goals for the day are 188 g carbs, 62 g fat and 140…

Should I push my calories higher?
I have been resetting for about a year, slowly pushing my calories higher and have been lifting heavy consistently since May 2016. I have reached a point where I am toying with the idea of a cut, but I'm not 100% sure I've reached my TDEE yet. Stats: CW: 109.6kg (241 lbs) Height: 174cm Lifting heavy 3 times per week,…

Increasing Calories - What to expect & why you need patience...
Because the calorie upping process always brings some concerns, I thought it might be helpful to have a synopsis of the process. We're all different, and of course will respond in different ways, but at some point during the process we may feel like we are all alone in our reactions to increased cals. We often hear the…

Need help on my journey!
Hello! I am new here at MFP. I’m so glad I found EM2WL! I have been trying to find my TDEE for about 9 months now, and I could use some help! I have a history of under-eating, for at least several years (and maybe much longer). I did gain weight a few years ago, and then lost about 20 pounds by restricting calories. I am…

Wanting to get this right.
Hi there! I've lurked around em2wl for the past year or so, but am finally ready to give it a real effort. I had a back injury this spring, which ultimately led to a minor operation this summer. I completly stopped dieting and counting calories thru all of that (since April) so, while I have gained some weight, I feel like…

Looking For Reviews of Beginners Guide To Strength Training
I'm looking for guidance with strength training. I've read NROLFL and it basically said if you don't have access to ALL the equipment specified, you can't build more muscle using this book. I'm definitely paraphrasing here but that was my take on it. I don't have access to squat racks and I have no room for a home gym. My…

Epiphany
What Kiki stresses finally sunk in last night when I had an epiphany after considering the bootcamp discussion yesterday. Even though when I was in my teens, 20s and 30s I was just slightly overweight, I never had issues dropping weight unless I was working out at the same time. In fact, I always said I couldn't do both at…

Weight gain concerns
I'm struggling a bit with this weight gain. I started eating more 4 weeks ago and have gained 6 pounds and I am starting to be unable to wear some of my clothes. I am not new to EM2WL. I have done a reset before a few years back. I had jumped right up to TDEE but in about 6 months I gained over 20lbs and went up 3 clothing…

Fitbit Calories
If I sync my fitbit to MPG and get added calories, should I eat those or just stick with my calculated amount of calories from EM2WL?

Newbie questions, a 'bit' confused'
I apologize in advance for all of my questions and my confusion. I am a bit unclear about the TDEE, BMR and cut weight. My question(s) are, if my BMR is 1950 and my TDEE is 2681 and my cut weight is 2279 (based on weight of 233, height 5ft 1in., and the activity level set at light, 1 to 3 days a week, female and cut rate…

Strong Lifts 5x5
So...does anyone else use this simple program for their strength training? I have a friend who is very fit, and very knowledgeable, telling me that I don't need to lift so heavy and that "Getting stronger and getting in shape doesn't mean you do that." I'm not sure if I should be mildly insulted or not? Or if I've been…

Update
I have done 2 weeks of EM2WL now and my energy level is so much better than when I tried to do Weight Watchers or diets. Never having restricted my calories for any length of time, at least not the last few years, I started with a 15% cut. I calculated my average calories in this week and it averaged 2041 and my average…

Starter Kit download
Hi! I bought the starter kit (and still have the email from Paypal as proof) but I can't find the e-book anywhere! I thought I'd saved it :( Is there a way I can get it again without having to pay a second time? Also - I see people talking about the training app - can someone explain how I can get this as well? Thank you x

Eating more
Okay folks, I'm starting to wonder about if I'm doing this right. I'm seeing a lot of people who are saying that they're struggling to eat their calorie goals for day as they increase to their projected TDEE. I decided to "rip the bandaid off" and just jump up to that amount. I was deprived too long. The scale has been…

First Post!
Hey everyone! I am sort of new to EM2WL. I have a question I am not sure you guys can help with, but I need to ask anyway, cause I am driving myself insane. To sum myself up, I have lost about 100lbs over 10 years using various methods of weight loss. At first I did terrible diets and ate 1200 calories and was miserable,…

Day 2
Today's my second day trying this I'm dreading the weekend because I always have been an overindulger on the weekends, eating and drinking what I want. You know, I've earned it for working hard all week . . . haha. My stats: I'm 52 (ugh my matabolism crashed and burned in my late 40s), 5'3" and 150-ish pounds. I love to…
