Newbie here, a little nervous and a few questions!
Okay! I've always seen posts about EM2WL and I know quite a few people that do it. Since starting mfp, I've been netting pretty much 1,200 daily. I was previously using another calorie counting website, and it was the same situation, always netting 1,200 and rarely 1,300. Eating a lot (unless it was crap...) was pretty…

Supplements
I'm interested I know what supplements you take or have taken and if you think they make a difference. I've been looking at this offer http://www.myprotein.com/uk/products/weight-loss-bundle-mp and wondering if it's worth buying some of the individual products or not. I already take a multi-vit + iron daily and l-lysine…

Got a minute to spare some advice?
Hi all. So I've been maintaining at 112 lbs while eating 2100 cals a day for a while now. I've been training with my trainer and lifting heavier 2 times per week and running 2 times a week. The fifth day I either strength train or run depending on how I'm feeling. I stopped tracking around the 28th since hubby and I were…

In need of help please
I am either just slow with this whole concept or I am just doing it wrong. I need some help from someone that has had success with the EM2WL. I've opened my diary for now so that I may get some help. I do cook most meals at home and try to vary my veggies/fruits. There was a few weeks where I didn't log anything, but it…

Trading fat for LBM...How?
Trying to wrap my head around this... I know you can't gain muscle on a deficit, but how do you trade fat for LBM, especially if you're eating either at or right close to maintenance?? How does this actually work? What are you gaining to increase LBM if it's not muscle? Just started EM2WL, so freaking out a bit right now…

Discussing EM2WL with trainer or coach
Hi all. I am 5'5", 187 lbs, female, 41 years old. Yesterday I started a primarily strength training boot camp which meets 60 minutes 2x/week, plus has "homework" of 45 minutes of cardio 4-5x/week. The coach emailed my calorie goal...1330…much lower than the 1600-1800 calories per day that I calculated. (Also, I got a…

Take a look at my diary...one year, slow progress...
If anyone on this forum has some insight, I would appreciate it. Lost inches and 11 pounds in 2012, reset my eating last June to up my calories per this group's wealth of info, using the excel spreadsheet to find TDEE/BMR and have been pretty consistent on my calories, and I just bought a food scale. I looked back at my…

Want to Know If I'm Okay
Hello everyone! Hope that you all are enjoying the New Year so far :flowerforyou: I've been eating 10-15% from TDEE for a month & I've been seeing the muscles in my arms show more. I'm 106-107lbs & spent 4 years doing cardio before I began EM2WL after reading IPOARM. My focus is cutting BF%, not losing weight; I want to be…

Just need some clarification
I am currently resetting my metabolism but my reset process will be over soon, I am still confused about somethings with this whole program. Here are some of the questions I would like answered 1.) Will this on;ly work if you eat clean? 2.) Is this program only for people who want to "bulk" up 3.) When you started the…

Reset -- How do I know if 8 weeks is enough?
My info packet says that for a full metabolic reset, I need to eat "at TDEE for a minimum of 8 weeks." Here is my dilemma ... I am on week 3 and even though I eat something healthy every three hours, from the time I wake up until I go to bed, I am not eating at TDEE. (Now if I added in ice-cream, fried foods, etc, I could…

Diet and Migraines
I've been struggling with migraines since puberty, and in the last ten years they've been steadily getting worse and more frequent. I've tried restricting my diet, and have to avoid a lot of foods that trigger migraines (MSG, chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, etc). I've been on beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, epilepsy…

could really use some insight/advice
Hi, I'm hecham and I'm slowly buying into this EM2WL thing. =) I am 26 yrs old, female, 5'3 and my current weight is 135. My BMR is about 1350. My sedentary tdee is 1600, but I burn about 1800-1900 with normal daily activity (like work and errands). I have worn a bodybugg in the past and about 1800 was what I registered on…

I never really left... ;)
Hey everyone. I've decided to rebuild my friends list after a hiatus. Re-add me and lets get the party started! :)

I did it!
Quick background, I'm a habitual undereater and stuck in the belief that to lose weight you're supposed to go on weird diets and just eat less. When I first started tracking, I was at anywhere from 400-800 cals a day max. For 5'6" and an active lifestyle, it's not enough! It took almost a year of seeing people fuel their…

Upping the cals!!
Hiya, So basically I've lost 23kg (50 pounds) and am about 7kg (15pounds) from my "ideal" weight. However, I have been doing the cutting calories and increasing cardio for about a year and have plateaued for the last 2 months or so. To try and break the plateau, I dropped to 1200-1400cals per day and burnt 700-1000cals…

where does cardio come in?
I'm finishing up my last month of Chalean Extreme and I've been eating at a 250-600 calorie deficit for quite a while. I don't know why I was eating at a deficit when I want to build muscle. I guess in my head, it's because I have a layer of flab over my muscles that I want gone, but cutting my calories obviously isn't…

Weighing during Reset
I'm on week 5 of my reset... I havn't looked at the scale bc I know it will most likely bum me out, and I'm not interested in that! However, in a lot of posts I've seen that people keep a close eye on their scale to see when they are gaining/maintaining at TDEE... should I be doing this?!

Should I increase calories gradually?
Checking on scoobys workshop I should be on approx 1,900 cal per day. Over the last 12 months I've been at 1,500 and gradually lost 18lbs bringing me pretty much to where I want to be ( 5' 6" tall and currnetly hovering between 132 - 134lbs) I train 3 - 4 times a week - manly running or circuit style sessions. This year I…

adivice please! just getting going...finally!
I am doing tdee -20% and want to combine it with 5/2 fasting. I find I sleep better when I do this. Does anyone else combine the two? Hoping for advice re counting the calories. On my two low days I am getting 500 cals. For the rest of the week should I eat at tdee or at the 20% cut? I don't want to overeat so any help…

MFP calories vs Scooby calories
Hi, I was wondering which one I should follow, MFP is telling me to eat 1200 calories to lose weight and the TDEE calculator tells me It is 1700. I'm 5"1 and weight 122 pounds and workout 5-6 days a week. I feel I should eat 1700 calories when I workout and 1200 when I don't but it seems really low. Any ideas?

I heard you can help!
Hi Everyone, I'm ready to join the eat more to weigh less crowd. I've been on MFP for almost a year now and lost 34 pounds in 2012, then gained back 13 in the past 3 months. I never fully understood how many calories I should eat, and ended up in a plateau I couldn't get out of. Can you help me figure this out? Here is…

40's and up on EM2WL Support Group ?
Hello all, I've been following this program for about 10 weeks now. I've noticed that most of the 'really' successful women seem to be under 40. I'm 53 with a low thyroid and I've starved myself in the past so think this groups GREAT!!! I'm holding steady but know if a 36 or a 28 year old is saying 'this is going to take a…

Having trouble calculating calories needed
Hi everyone! While I have been on MFP for over a year or so now, I'm just getting myself okay with the idea of eating more. Like most people, it set me at 1,200 calories a day. A month or so ago, I upped it to 1,500 calories. I just read "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" and am very interested and committed to beginning…

Does EM2WL only apply to certain type of woman?
Hi. I just wanted to know if the eating more to weigh less program only works for those looking to have a body like Jillian Michaels or something... Is it only for those who exercise everyday or do strength training? Let's face it... not everyone exercises hard (my exercise of choice is walking because I hate going to the…

I'd like more EM2WL friends!
I'd love some more like-minded friends! I lost 50 pounds during 2012, so this really truly DOES work! I'm ready to tackle the next 40 pounds in 2013....who would like to come along for the ride with me?
