Went over a little on Carbs
I went 46 over on my carbs having adjusted them to 40 percent. I did make it very close to my 1200 calories for the day. Do I worry much about going a little over my carb limit?

I'm so upset and I have been so confused on how to lose weight and nobody on general boards is answering my questions. Thankfully, I was directed here. This is going to be long so please bare with me as I feel like this is my last hope before I just stick to what I have been doing which was unhealthy. Now to start, I am…

unusual medical situation, not sure where to go from here
I'm a 41-year-old diabetic and have had poor tolerance for most oral medications. I'm going to have to give quite a bit of background before asking my question, so please bear with me! A few years ago, it was entirely diet and exercise controlled (and I had to have been eating at least 3000 a day). Then a lung infection…

Carbs or now carbs
Just wondering if the majority of people eat carbs or not? And if you do, do you eat them throughout the day or just in the morning?

cardio and strength training
I do 4 days of strength and 3 days of cardio a week, so obviously some days will over lap. When they do and I have to do both in one day, I usually run and do upper body exercises, so my question is does it matter the order I do them in? Should I run first then do strength? Or the other way around? Should I space them out…

I'm getting super frustrated trying to figure out how many calories to eat. Please someone just tell me! I've read all the stickies on MFP, BMR, TDEE, etc. I understand them, but still don't know what I should do for ME. Is it just trial and error? I'm a 33yo stay at home mom, 5'1", and 257lbs. I HOPE to exercise 3 times a…

Hi! I just started eating more to lose weight last week and this is my second week. After thanksgiving holiday I decided to change my lifestyle and lose weight by deiting and exercising. I joined MFP and did the low calorie thing for about a month and I lost about 11ibs. There were some weeks I didn't lose anything.…

Reset or ok to just raise?
I have upped my calories to 1650 (suggested from scooby) and was just wondering if I should do a reset or just stick to what I have. I ate pretty haphazardly for most of November and December, even before then I'm sure, and for the first week of Jan tried limiting calories to 1300. Ended up being aroung 1450 average, then…

New and frustrated
:frown:  I have lost 34 lbs on MFP, but I've been losing the same 1-2lbs for weeks. So, I researched eat more to weigh less. When I looked over my dairy I noticed my NET calories were way under my BMR. I know that a gain on the scale is expected, but I really am having a hard time with my weigh in today. Its only been…

Strength training at home?
Hey guys! I've just started to eat more and hopefully I'll see some positive results from it sooner rather than later. Meanwhile I'd love to get started on strength training and lifting, but I won't have access to "heavy" weights for another two weeks or so. Are there any exercises I can do at home which will prove to be…

Any recommendations??
So I've been lifting heavy for 2 months now and started out weighing 132 and now weigh 137. I'm in medical school so for most of the day I am sitting in class or sitting down studying, but my workouts usually follow this plan: Mondays- sprinting workout (including warm up and cool down for 35 minutes) and leg workout (for…

Trouble figuring out my TDEE
I had calculated my TDEE a while ago but I am just not sure if I got it right..can someone give me there thoughts please I'm 39, 5'8, currently at 194 lbs. To give you a idea of my activity level I have a desk job, up and down a few times a day but not too much. Lunch hour is usually spent picking up groceries or other…

Eat at TDEE at reduction OR TDEE (with lowest act. level)?
Question. I'd imagine it doesn't really matter, but I thought I'd throw it out there. I understand I figure out my activity level (say, moderate where I work out 3-5 hours a week) and then eat at that TDEE amount with a 15% reduction. Would I get different/better results if I eat at TDEE amount with a 15% reduction set to…

Having Doubts: Need Help
I'm having doubts about eating more. I calculated my TDEE and it's 2660. 80% of that comes out to about 2160 calories--that still seems like a lot. I work out 6 days per week, and as a graduate student I'm always walking to, from, and around campus. Still, should I be eating that much? I don't know if it's the mental block…

Do I HAVE to reset?
Hi all, After plateauing for a couple months and doing some research I have decided to start eating more. For the past four months I have been eating 1200 calories (pretty consistently). Can't seem to process the numbers!
Basically I've always felt that it's important to make sure you're eating enough no matter how quickly you want to lose or how much weight you want to lose. I'm always scared I'm eating too little, so this group was very intriguing for me. For some reason I just cannot fully understand how to get the right numbers, so I…

How to add strength?
I'm new to the idea of EMTWL, but have always felt that surely eating 1300 calories wasn't very healthy. I'm ready to give this a shot and have read alot about focusing on weight training vs. cardio and watching the inches vs. the scale. Right now I'm doing 3 days of running, and plan to continue that, and also am doing…

Low Calorie Burns on HRM...and my TDEE
I'm curious about this. I seem get relatively low calorie burns for the activity I do. Numerous times, my friends will comment that my burns for walking/running/hiking etc seem low to them compared to what they earn for the same amount of time doing the same exercise. I've noticed this as well. I use a HRM, so I'm pretty…

My TDEE
Ok, so I got a fitbit for Christmas. I have been wearing it every day for 16 days. I did the calculation and it shows my TDEE is 2291! I'm blown away! I still wasn't eating enough! I was trying to stay around 1800, but my 15% cut is 1946! :noway:  My question is, if I stay around 1800, is that gonna help or hurt me?…

Resetting gone wrong?
Hey everyone, Im posting this on the EM2wL forum, too, so I can hopefully find some answers (& soon) just wondering if any of you have gained a lot of inches and 3 pant sizes two months into their reset (or can point me inthedirection of someone who has) Not to discourage those that are resetting...but I'm very nervous.
