I've been out of the habit of running regularly after an injury at the tail end of March sidelined me for a few months, and a busy softball season meant I didn't get back into the routine. I just managed the odd 5k run here and there, and my fitness declined horribly. 2 weeks ago I decided to get back to it and I've…

Today was supposed to be my first half marathon, but I didn't run it. :disappointed: Back in March I was in great shape, running decent distances and planning for my half today. On April 3rd I did something horrible to my hamstring and knee in my right leg while playing football, as well as pulling a calf muscle in the…

@ceciliaslater so sorry to hear about Maggie. What a horrible situation. My sympathies.
-
Welp, that's not going to happen. Popped my hamstring tonight :(

Missed my March goal by about 8 miles: I took the last week off when I had to abandon a long run 4 miles in with a calf strain. It didn't feel right so I wanted to stay off it rather than push it until it went seriously wrong, so no running for 10 days. Ugh. It's been feeling a bit better now, so I tried an easy 5k today.…

Yessssss!!! Well done!

@louubelle16 excellent time! Congrats! @Elise4270 nice job on the PR :) @brian_gunther keep it up, you're doing great. It was my birthday today. Started with 5 miles this morning, including pacing my wife to her first sub-26 minute 5k at Parkrun. So proud of her, even if there was some melodramatic "I'm dying!" after the…

8.3 miles tonight, 54/75 for the month.

Ugh. Not feeling it At. All. this week. Big weekend stag do, followed by playing football on Monday night, then a couple of long days at work. All combined with generally awful sleep has added up to general lethargy and total lack of motivation to run. Finally forced myself out this evening and got just shy of 7 miles in.…

5.5 miles recovety today... wishing I'd forced myself to use the roller after last night's run.stiff and achy legs which only started to loosen up in the last mile. That's probably it for the week as I'm off to a stag do (bachelor party) tonight for the weekend, which is unlikely to be conducive to healthy pursuits! 39 /…

So I totally bailed on last night's run... worked about 2 hours later than planned, then when I got home around 8pm just sat on the bed to read mfp for 5 minutes before going out to run... and totally passed out asleep . I decided to "listen to my body" and postpone it until today instead :) Last night was supposed to be…

@moyer566 hope you get well soon! @ceciliaslater fingers crossed for that tendon... @sleepigrl dont sweat it, you're getting in a good number of runs. Maybe don't worry about the distance too much, and just try to get out as much as you can? Like @ceciliaslater said, maybe adjust your pace. The best thing I did for…

I wish I knew... With size of my schnozz you'd think I'd be able to breathe easily through it, but the minute I start running it just fills up. I don't stop to blow it though: snot rockets ftw! (Always good to do a quick courtesy check first though!)

Woohoo! Well done!

A pretty slow 5k at Parkrun this morning. Legs felt very heavy after 8 miles last night and 10k on Thursday. Rest day tomorrow! Added 1.5 miles with warm up and cool down to get to 19 miles for the month. 19/75.

I have Garmin connected to strava and runkeeper, and runkeeper connected to mfp. This gets the running data everywhere I want it to be. Mfp is connected to google fit, and fitness sync reads my weight from there and writes it to strava (and fatsecret). No double counting, and all my data gets where I want it to be. Maybe a…

Couldn't agree more. I've only been here a couple of months, but I love how supportive this group is. It's been a big factor in stepping up the amount of running that I'm doing. 8 miles tonight. 14/75 for the month.

My brother has started C25K after seeing how much weight I've lost from dieting and running. Super proud of him.
-
Just followed you! Your mileage looks very similar to mine. Looking at your followers I took the opportunity to follow @7lenny7 @ceciliaslater @Virkati and @Stoshew71 as well :) Did 10k this evening. Really really didn't want to run after getting home from work, but I sucked it up and got out there and wouldn't you know…

I've been away with work for the first couple of days of march, so I've not had a chance to run yet. 215 posts in here by day 2 though! I would love to hit 90 for the month, but I've got a few things on which are going to mean I won't get out as much as I'd like, so I'm going to aim for 75 miles. Oh, I signed up for that…

5.5 this morning, to finish the month at 56 miles: travelling with work tomorrow so I won't get a chance to run. Nowhere near my 76 goal, but that's ok, I've had a good month of running when not coughing my lungs up. 3 hours of indoor softball this afternoon as well, I'm absolutely knackered!
-
@Orphia wow, that's a great week you've had: a 5k PB AND a distance PB AND you've made goal for the month. Way to go!
-
Thanks! My theory about the pacer throwing everyone off might be right. It turns out that from a field of 156 runners yesterday, there were 67 PBs!
-
@WhatMeRunning @5BeautifulDays @michable @Elise4270 @juliet3455 thanks so much for the encouragement and advice. I think I will take the plunge and sign up for that half! Having never done much in the way of organised running and "real" races, I really do appreciate you taking the time to give me the push I needed :) 1…

Not got round to checking in for a few days. Properly over the cold that wiped out 10 days earlier this month, it's great to be back in the swing of things. Did a very slow 5 miles on Wednesday, and a quicker 7 miles tonight. Won't get anywhere near my goal for the month, I'm at 46 out of a target of 76, will probably end…
-
Woohoo! First time I've managed to run in 12 days after having a stinking cold. Felt great to get back to it with a 5 miler this afternoon. 34 miles for the month so far, don't think I'm going to make my 76 mile target :( still, good to be back to it :)
-
Seems like he wants to be a skinny corpse.
-
Noooooooooo! I've woken up with a cold today and Mrs whatang has banned me from running. :(
-
Haha, thanks! Football was yesterday though, so it's not *quite* as crazy as it sounds! Hope your thumb heals up soon :)

Love this. Totally stealing it!
