I was checking out condoms at a Walgreens counter once and the checkout guy (who couldn't have been over 20) says, "someone's having fun tonight." I was so taken aback, I couldn't even come up with a snarky reply!

I make ahead four to five dinners on Sundays and this week it's baked catfish filets with steamed broccoli. I can pre portion all of it into the five containers, then just nuke them. As far as the second week, I don't have many ideas for foods that will last that long in a fridge, but a rotisserie chicken with steamer…

I suddenly started having issues with Greek yogurts. I've LIVED on Greek yogurts for years, and now even a half of a plain yogurt upsets my stomach to the point I feel I just ate two Thanksgiving dinners. I cut out caffeine and sugar about four months ago, so my only chocolate (and it's become a craving) is sugar free…

I haven't seen this in my gyms, but i would consider it pretty strange. I don't get the ones that wear only a bra to workout either. They're usually the ones not sweating at all...

I was tired of the yoyo diets and needed help getting into a new lifestyle change. I was approved by insurance and my PCP within the first month, surgery was scheduled the next month. It went by fast, faster than most from what I've been reading on these threads. I had my surgery on 1/25/16, starting weight was 226, now…

@NicoleL874 Thanks! It really does feel great! And you're right, without food or beer as the focus, it can be hard to remember some holidays! I'm Irish-Italian as well and I lived like it and I LOVED it! Congrats on your 5 lbs to go...I have no doubt that you'll make your doc happy! @Lori_Pensel Thanks! I have been…

@jcavanna2 My experience was similar to @NicoleL874 . I only spent one night, brought my phone and charger, but I mostly slept and watched tv. I was so dopey and sleepy, I didn't really want to text or fbook or any of that. I brought all my own toiletries and I didn't change clothes until the morning I was about to be…

One week to go, Lori! Are you excited! I know we're all excited for you :)

Hey, Shelly! My Food Diary is public to my friends, so feel free to add me. I sometimes post my own healthy recipes, but not often b/c of the time it takes to type them in from home...LOL. But I do log everything I put into my body.

I wouldn't say 'push yourself', but don't stop completely b/c a cold has you down! Try making your own chicken soup from scratch. it's easier than you'd think, and YOU can control the sodium intake! Also, I take extra vitamin C and echinacea for a cold with some hot tea.

Me too. I stopped drinking for New Years and I'm still dry. Of course, it IS St Paddy's day...
-
And a good day to you too! had a bummer week beginning, but turned out pretty great!

This was true for me also. I've done juice cleanses a couple times over the years (thank God I won't do that anymore!) and I got the headaches and dizziness. Congrats on your decision! It was the best one I ever made.

My regular now is as it was before surgery - certain foods = everyday, other foods = every other day. Immediately following surgery though, I didn't go for 5 days, was drinking Metamucil and that didn't seem to help. I didn't feel uncomfortable, though, but in reality, I wasn't eating any food! Once I was off clear liquids…

That is so great! I've got another checkup in two months and I have a cholesterol screening added to my bloodwork - I'm hoping I won't have to take that anymore too!
-
hey, Brina! I'm not new to MFP, but I am pretty fresh in these groups and chats. I'm 36 and in Louisiana, feel free to add me! :)

My whole process went by a lot faster than I've been reading from others on here too. I first decided to ask the doctor about the sleeve in November, Medical Clearance and Pre Op bloodwork in December, then surgery in January. My pre-op diet from the doc was no smoking 6 weeks before, no alcohol and no fatty foods 2 days…

Congrats and welcome! Everyone I've "met" her in the group has been so positive and outgoing - real motivational ladies we have here! If you need anything, just ask. We're all in different stages, I'm 8 weeks post op now.

I'm a southern girl, born and bred, and drinking while fishing is a pastime just like drinking at a crawfish boil! I work hard during the week so that I can enjoy a couple beers on my weekends!

First off, go you! You've done awesome and it's still early! Second, best motivation for me is my music; I listen to the same cardio playlist every time I work out, whether I'm running or at the gym. I turn that playlist on about an hour before I leave work to go workout and it never fails me! Third, Holidays are just…

When you have a sudden craving for something specific, it's emotional and you will almost always choose the unhealthy option. When you feel hungry, anything will calm the beast. If your 64 ounces only consist of water, mix it up with some lemonade, caffeine free green tea, decaf hot tea, soy/almond milk. Yes, the water can…

Today is the day! Add me and we'll all help you through this! Good luck and congrats!

I don't have a wedding coming up, but I do have a bikini I've been staring at for three years! I'm on a great track now and still feeling fabulous about my new healthy, active lifestyle! Feel free to add me and I'll give you all the honest encouragement a bestie can! I was 260 at my highest weight, I'm at 193 now and still…

Body Pump was always my favorite class at the gym. It gets easier and a whole lot more fun. Find an instructor that you like - I pick based on his/her music choice! Good for you going for the gold right out the gate! That's what worked for me too. After only a month of the classes, I was doing 45 min cardio before, and 25…

Yeah, that works for me too lol. I use the same playlist for my workouts every time - one for stretch/cool down and one for serious fast cardio. To get myself pumped, I start the cardio playlist about an hour before I leave work, and I change into workout clothes about 5 minutes before I leave work for the gym.

It's because when you add your exercise, it credits (debits?) the calories burned into your daily allotment. I don't put all of my workouts and calories burned into my diary for just this reason. I don't want to mistakenly devour my deficit! Hope this helps!
