  • It may sound odd but mint is a natural appetite suppressant, brushing your teeth, having some sugar free chewing gum or drinking peppermint tea all have the same effect and can help curb your appetite... A trick I used to have was making lots of little pots of artificial sugar free jelly like Rowntree's there's virtually…
  • There are so many things in this world you can't change, the only thing that can really change is you, face your problems head on, never surrender and become the person you've always wanted to be! Or give up and stay the way you are now, that you're not happy with and won't ever be. I know what I'm choosing! You can do the…
  • First of all you're not worthless! Second of all welcome to the site :)

  • I've done it myself plenty of times before coming here, you lose a bit, slip into old patterns and boom you're back were you started or worse... I almost slipped today when doing food shopping, I looked at some delicious looking chocolate moose thing in my local supermarket and had to exert real will power not to buy it...…

  • Fruits may be high in calories for what you're eating but they are packed full of wonderful minerals and nutrients and vitamins that are essential for a healthy body.
  • Thank you guys, I really appreciate you all taking the time to respond... and yes to answer I drink plenty of water every day and have no conditions that I know of that require me to limit sodium.
  • As long as you're completely honest about what you're putting in your mouth, right down to how much seasoning or cooking oil you're using and how much exercise you are getting it seems to be completely indispensable as it takes all of the guess work out of if you're over eating or not. Stay within your calorie allowance…
  • Sadly I think it does... I think people put far too much thought into this when they don't have any more specific a goal than to lose weight... Eat what you want as long as you don't exceed your recommended intake. Personally I want better health as well as losing weight and am really enjoying discovering new foods that I…
  • Don't be harsh on yourself, as others have said giving yourself a little treat every now and then isn't a bad thing! If you deprive yourself of everything you enjoy you will be miserable and will sooner rather than later give up. Me I say I allow myself one cheat meal a week as a general rule of thumb, it's kind of a…
  • You look absolutely beautiful, truly inspirational and I bet your husband is over the moon :)
  • Well that's a hell of a lot of weight to lose but as Tesha says you're off to a great start already... 12lbs down is really a great start. I've only been here a week myself but have found it invaluable for motivation and keeping track of what I'm eating as it was more guess work before I started here and although I started…
  • Try brushing your teeth or having a pack of mints next to your bed, mint is a natural appetite suppressant and may help curb your cravings.... What is it you're craving though exactly?
  • Why does it suck? I'm assuming it took a long time to get yourself over weight, I know it did with me so it will take a long time to come off.... 3lbs off is still in the right direction my friend.
  • You are a truly beautiful women, I bet you are really pleased.
  • Slack? You look fantastic as you are... but hey I'm always on the scrounge for more people to connect with :)
  • Hey there from Liverpool... I'm 6ft 8 and currently 23st 13lbs (7lbs down from when I started two weeks ago) Ideally I want to get to 12st 6lbs not factoring in any increased muscle mass but I know once I start hitting the gym again I'll be looking at about 15stone with increased strength and endurance and hopefully no gut…
  • Am not training at the moment, purely due to finances but Metal is the best music to work out too... Everything from Annihilator's Army of one to Pantera's Walk and everything in between!
  • Hi Elizabeth, I'm another newbie so feel free to shoot me a friend request if you want... To me, any form of surgery for weight loss is the all out nuclear option, and failing some physical condition that requires it, it shouldn't be considered. It's too extreme! We all have to start somewhere though, I've a similar amount…
  • What I've found is that I'm looking at things I used to love eating like Blue M&M's and Mars Ice creams and feeling revulsion at the thought of what I'm putting in to my body by eating them. All the chemicals, processed sugars etc etc that are no good for me and ultimately will lead me to an early grave. That may be a…
  • While at first I felt I didn't need a site like this to keep track of my calories, it's great that it takes away most of the hard work for you and shows you what you're actually putting in to your body. I'm very glad I joined. Thanks for the advice, I know that it's going to take a long time and will happen more slowly…
  • I'm happy it's going in the right direction finally but I don't feel great... Don't get me wrong I'm not struggling with my diet or anything and am not miserable but I think great will come when I have to tighten my belt again etc. :)
  • Absolutely inspirational.... you do look absolutely great, thanks for sharing!
  • Thank you guys...
  • Hey there, I'm right at the start of my own weight loss journey and if you're wanting someone to share war stories with I'll gladly have a new friend who understands what it's like :)
  • Some diced lean chicken, pan fried with spring onion, chilli peppers, a dash of garlic salt and a little low sodium soy sauce with roughly 100g of whole grain rice and a handful of mixed salad. Careful not to over cook the spring onions and chilli peppers and you've got a very spicy, delicious dish.
