Hi Quilty ( and everyone) I have been here off and on for 5 years. Over those years I have lost 25 lbs. obviously not a quick loser 😊 because I am not good about logging food. But I do it sometimes so I have an idea of how many calories are in most things. I exercise. The thing that helps me the most is I do Intermittent…

I have arthrits and my knees are the worst. First step medically was to get my knee injected with gel. Did that without much improvement so I bought an electric bike. What an amazing thing! It has 5 levels of pedal assist which means that even though I am getting assistance ( going up hills) I am still pedaling. It is so…

Back from a 3 day camping trip. Did not log anything or worry about what I ate. We hiked a lot and had a great time. I am back now ready to be accountable -my goal is to lose a few before my trip in October.

Oh man I don't know why I struggle so much. I do well for a couple days and then I stop and think why am I doing this at my age… Well because I feel better. So here I go again

Last December I did an IF ( 18-6) for the entire month. I lost weight in spite of multiple holiday indulgences. It was a way of keeping some kind of control in a busy season. I was so happy with how that worked out I am doing again this year which is why I showed up here

That ( Body Dismorphia) is a danger in dieting for most women. All the emphasis on looking good. And it turns out getting to good is not good enough. The disordered thinking precedes the disordered eating. I don't think there is an answer- here we all are obsessed with the process ( logging- eating- lifting- cardio- etc)…

Make a pact with yourself that you will do it for 24 hours. Then the next day decide again for 24 hours. Etc. in 3 weeks it will be habit. Think of tracking as a safety device- a crutch you need while getting healthy.

It is a habit that takes time for your body to adjust to- no eating between 8pm and noon ( for me the time frame is 7p-7a) after about 3 weeks you adjust and the mental fight is over for the most part.

My experience with IF was 6 weeks around the holidays. My weight had plateaued about 5 Ibs above my goal. I was worried about being company for a few days, about a holiday party, and about a few other holiday things that could send me 10 lbs up so I did a 18/6. I did not log my food and I did not go crazy but I did eat…

Oddly enough- #4. I am having trouble adjusting to my new weight. I bought some new clothes yet I am more comfortable in the old sweats and putting suspenders on my jeans to hold them up instead of putting on the new - smaller ones that fit. Is it crazy that I like the feel of the old being too big instead of the new that…

I am eating around 1700/ day and I am only 5'0 - 61 yr. lost 25 lbs doing the MFP way. I average 10 miles walking per day ( Fitbit tracking) I walk so much because 1200 is just not enough - I like to eat well!

Yes- in fact I went to Dr today for a checkup because of sleep issues- she gave advice- bed is only for sleeping or sex. Computer or tv screens ( light emitting devices) should not be used an hour before bed, limit liquid before bed.

Seems to be a life long thing- not something I get to recover from but more like something I deal with well - or not.

Thank you for sharing. We need support and who better than some else who suffers? Today I did 10 miles just so I could feel ok about eating. I have been a purger for many many years and I am tired of the secrecy and the pain and feeling bad. A while back I decided to stop and what I did was replace it with exercise-…

I felt disfigured by my thighs- no matter how thin or how much exersize always big-- so I had liposuction and it helped me with my self esteem. It was worth the expense and time to recover.

Maybe you need a day off? There is something to be said for listening to your body- rest and tomorrow back at it.

Thank you for this tool: maybe it will help me
