I, too, must travel a fair bit for work as well. When I know I will have access to a refrigerator, I will often pack a cooler with fresh fruit/veg, lean meats, greek yogurt, protein bars, cheeses (I often practice keto), lots of water and/or club soda, etc. However, often I don't know if I'll have access to a fridge and…

350 cals seems VERY reasonable for takeout Chinese.

Congratulations on completing your first pump class though (yesterday was pump 100!) !

I've never touched my trainer's muscles. There have been times where we've done an exercises where I've put force on their legs, but all with permission. I have let trainers touch me WITH PERMISSION to improve form (stabilizing arms during triceps exercises, tilting hips during squats, etc)

When I have an incredibley sore lower half (similar to what you're describing where you can't even turn over), I'll often just walk on the treadmill with a slight incline or ride the bike. I find this really helps get the blood circulating which can aid in recovery. Drink plenty of fluids , and stretch as well. With the…

In these cases i just log it as something as comparable as possible. Is it roughly the same size as a McDonald's muffin? Log it. Closer to a Starbucks muffin? Log it. Can't always be perfect but at least you're trying.

For sure ! I had ZERO desire to Go to my fitness class yesterday but I still went... felt better after. But like others have said, if I were sore, sick, had other priorities (ie. meeting, important event etc) id reorganize

Shoes are a very personal part of dabbling into exercise. I see people at the gym in converse, high tops, traditional sneakers... and everyone has their own "brand" that they may stick to. Most of the more popular (and often pricier) running shoe companies will let you purchase their shoes, wear them for a work out or two,…

I've started eating breakfast at work at about 10am (wake up at about 6:30). I'm finding if I push back breakfast and lunch and I'm not getting that afternoon sluggish feeling before going home.

SAME! However one thing I HATE about shopping is how different a size 4 is at each store. I have a pair of old navy shorts that are a size 2 (and fit a little too snuggly) but they're by no means a size 2 in measurements (more like a 6/8). Then I have a size 10 American eagle short that fit more like an 8. Such a first…

Ha! I appreciate your honesty !

LOL. People of all body shapes and sizes (thin, athletic, strong, curvy, tall, fat) treat themselves to sweet treats -- not just "overweight people".

It sounds like we work in very similar environments. My first week in the job we had 3 cakes !
-
Smart strategy ! I find the same when doing #1. Those damn peanut butter balls are taunting me -- but I so badly can't wait to eat my tasty dinner tonight

I think most people in the thread have covered the, "be in a deficit" thing. The best BB program will vary person to person. I personally love (and will still do it when travelling for work) T25 as well as 21 Day Fix.
-
I'm not following a program but I do go to the BodyCombat classes 2x a week at my GoodLife. I really like it -- HR increases, always moving, feel bad *kitten* and the next day I'm nice and sore.

Do you have a recipe for the chicken thighs (or just an estimate of ingredients) ? Looks delish.

I pay a membership to a "commercial" gym that I like. I find I workout best when I have others around me and treat my workouts as a job. I have a small gym in my condo (very similar to a hotel hym, quite cramped) that I'll use once in a while but I tend to not push myself as hard. At the commercial gym, I like the peer…

5'2, 142lbs, sz 4-6 (US/Can) This thread amazes me!

I GO to the gym 5-6 days a week but on "off" days I try to hike, walk, snowshoe, etc.

Well done on getting that bike and making a better life for YOU. If people laugh or heckle (what kind of person does this?!) that's THEIR problem. You just keep peddling away.

Oh! And your ... crotch... will feel like it got kicked the next day. It WILL feel like you have a bruise between your legs. After a few classes, you will no longer be painful in this region.
-
Chat with the instructor ahead of time and let them know you're a first timer. Typically they'll help you set up your bike and explain the class.

Not sure if you want something that'll keep the sweat at bay, but when i'm in a crunch for time I do the Nike Training Club (app) 17min HIIT workout. I swear throughout the whole thing but at the end of the 17min i'm dripping sweat, breathing heavy and happy I got it done

So I started cize back in November maybe ? I was super excited about it as I've had great success with insanity and t25 -- I love Shaun T! I figured cize would be no different, challenging yet fun and I love dancing. I was wrong. I'm so uncoordinated. I was embarrassed for myself. I tried two days of it and just couldn't.…

Yes and no. I find that after leg days I can get incredibly sore... To the point that rolling over in bed causes me to let out some not so attractive grunts and moans. When this happens I typically move my "rest" day to the day after so I can let those muscles heal. However, when this happens I do ACTIVE RECOVERY.…
