I think it's good value for money. I am on my 2nd year of it and will renew again.

Great advice

You can step up on a small pad or Reebok Step on low. Doesn't have to be 90 degrees to qualify! I have big knee issues and have resolved a lot of my pain with the above strategy.

I would suggest you try and strengthen the posterior chain (glutes, hamstings, calf) as well as your quads and knee area. Things like; box step ups, wall squats, deadlifts, step back lunges, regular lunges (these are harder on your knee than step backs); hamstring curl machine, leg extension machine, calf raises, leg…

I would spend money on a personal trainer. You will get the confidence to do the exercises and overcome the intimidation. Also if you have poor form or are a noob at this, the trainer will pay off in other ways such as injury prevention. I am not a personal trainer. Like you I nearly bought my own gear. I am glad I went…

I would see a medical professional and find out what you can do in the gym without damaging your back. As a bad back sufferer I can attest to the fact that exercise reduced pain and flare ups. My doctor tells me the worst thing to do is rest a bad back.

Eat normally and track your calories closely. Then reduce calories by substituting foods or reducing portion sizes. Eating' clean' is not sustainable for me. Controlling calories is sustainable.

H7 is decent. Fiddly to setup on some android phones to work with 3Rd party apps though. I believe iPhone support is much better though.

Water will help you feel full. Adding lemon may help you drink more water. This may well help with appetite control. So while weight loss is indeed calories in, calories out - drinking lemon water sounds like a good strategy to manage fluid intake and help you feel fuller.

45 min session. 10 sets of 10 reps supersets of bench press and fly. Then 10 x 10 assisted pull ups. 60 rest between sets. Burned 282 calories. However sedentary burn for 45 Mins would be approx 60 kcal. So.. Prob about 200ish kcal extra per 45 Mins for me

I am still here. Will update my mileage later today.

Smoothies are your friend. A good smoothie can pack 1k calories. YouTube high calorie smoothies, bulking smoothies etc

I find exercise keeps me focused. Much harder to justify eating a lot when you are sweating it out most days

I cycle a fair bit. 150 miles or so a week. I up by around 200 kcal per 30 miles as I still have 6 or 7 lbs to go. 30 miles is about 2.5 hours at my pace. I would compare the intensity to that of a moderate paced run. 150 bpm most of the time. (Age 37)

Daily for me. I like the daily ups and downs and resulting graph happiness.

Ditto. I do weigh loose stuff but I don't double check packet weights.
-
Also I can burn 150 calories in 30 Mins or 500 calories depending very much on resistance and cadence

Machine calories are normally reasonably accurate for me against HRM. I always input my weight and age if it let's me though. 5'10. 188 lbs, Male. 37 y/o

I know how that feels! It definitely takes time.

Disclaimer. I am not a medical professional. This is super common for people starting out. Your muscles are not used to the new range of motion being introduced. Take it slow. Start with 2 days in 7 jogging / walking. It is going to take weeks for your body to adapt. If you get pain at the base of your knee it is usually…

If you view the changes you want to make as something you can achieve now or in in the short term.. You are going to have some issues. This is not about instant gratification or turning a fantasy of a certain lifestyle into reality overnight. You MUST accept that your goals are going to take a long time to achieve. Success…

And so it didn't even take until Sunday. Bear in mind* Wednesday I ate at maintenance (courtesy 6 pints of San Miguel at a work charity dinner). Yesterday I drank an entire bottle of red wine but still came in about 600 calories under maintenance. However I have largely rested up after lots of weights and 25 mile cycle…

After more thinking about this. I have had a lot of salt on my food recently. Today sodium is on my restricted list. My prediction is my 12 day plateau will be over by Sunday.
