You're very kind. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She was very young! I'm happy, however, that we are both here. We can do this

I'd like to join this callenge. Returning to MFP after dealing with the death of my mom. I've gained about 35 lbs. I'd like to lose it again plus more. I have 49.2 lbs to lose in total to reach my goal of 140 lbs. I'm in British Columbia, Canada. Female, 48 yrs old, 5'3".

Typically you'll lose it last wherever you gain it the fastest. For me, that's hips/butt/legs. I'm the pear shape. I am currently a size small on top but still a 12/14/large on the bottom. I've lost 82 lbs. However, I know plenty of people that lose from the belly and top last and have skinny legs and butt. It's all…

Well I've been struggling as of late so I decided to come back to the success thread and have a peek around. It's helped remind me of what people can accomplish when they really want something! So, here is my progress so far. I started Sept 1/15. The comparison pic was taken at the beginning of June 2016. from 240 lbs to…

Bread by itself doesn't cause weight gain. Only eating more calories than you burn will cause it. You can over eat fruit, or meat, or anything else. If you feel the bread is the cause of your bloating, try not eating it for a few days and see if that actually is the cause. I have no idea what else you eat or drink that…

Yes, you can, but I agree that 2 lbs per week may be a bit aggressive. I would aim for 1 lb per week until about 15-20 lbs from overall goal, then maybe 1/2 lb per week. It's a lot harder to get to a deficit with only food near your goal weight. As you lose weight, your body needs less calories as it is. To lose 1 lb per…

This exactly.

Plain unsweetened here. I use it for protein shakes, cereal, etc. I don't drink it by the glass.

Chocolate cake... chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream is my kryptonite. I would eat until I feel sick if I could.

Fabulous work and result!

I'm happy with no ads and the few other perks, plus I use this every single day so to me it's worth it.

I think the main thing considered is pain, not weight or size. I'm in BC, and have my consult coming up on Oct 25. I'm 5'3" and currently 155 lbs. I've lost 85 lbs but I'm still a GG cup. I also have arthritis and degenerative disc disease in my spine along with nerve issues from my shoulders down to my hands. I don't…

@kommodevan is 100% correct in every point. Words like "essentially" say not always. For weight loss, you MUST be consistent. Log 100%, weigh 100% of the solids you eat. Use a measuring cup/spoons for liquids. Intense exercise (or any new exercise for that matter) causes your body to retain water for repair. High sodium…

Holy wow!! Fabulous!

I love my salads for lunch: romaine lettuce, spinach, turkey or chicken, carrot matchsticks, green onion, and then fresh strawberries or Craisins, with lite ranch dressing. Very filling, very flavorful.

All you need for weight loss is a calorie deficit. You can do it!

I would measure once per month. I weigh daily, but I don't take the fluctuations seriously because I can see the trend.

Try a good book like Starting Strength or New Rules of Lifting. Books like these give you great information on how and why. Then you can start with their program. I recommend using a program over making up something yourself if you're new to lifting. Good luck and have fun!

Uh... WOW!!! Best transformation I've ever seen. Truly inspiring!!!!!
