  • I tend to add my food in MFP but leave the fitbit to add exercise.
  • I blend one with 100-150mls of plant based milk, a teaspoon of cacao, teaspoon of maca powder and a small dash of maple syrup. I have this as a breakfast smoothie although it has a thicker consistency almost like angel delight. I also blend avocado, lemon juice, garlic and basil to stir through pasta dishes.
  • I have been on it for a few years now and it hasn't caused a gain. If I stick roughly to my recommended calories over the week, I usually maintain.
  • I am not gluten free but I try to avoid too much gluten and I have been vegan for 3 years. It was a little work at first because I had to do my research and find some tasty recipes to keep me interested and find out what was okay to eat. There are lots of helpful sites like vegan womble which list vegan friendly foods. I…
  • Having piled on 9lbs very quickly after a change in my HRT, I went back to logging. For 3 weeks, at around 1500, there was no change on the scales. In the last two weeks it has started to move slowly. I think, If I hadn't cut back, it would have continued to rise and I am pretty sure by how I feel, much of it is due to…
  • General speaking, I found it much easier to keep my weight steady after menopause. However I had gone through a little early and was advised to have HRT for bone health. Initially I was on a lowish dose via patches and had no changes to weight. There is now an issue with supply of patches and for the last couple of months,…
  • I am Vegan and try to ensure that I add a protein and carb source to each meal. It is quite possible to be Vegan/vegetarian and eat a diet of junk food. I avoid this as I would definitely end up lacking in the required nutriments. I always have loads of veg to ensure I am full but bulk them out with, wholegrain pasta,…
  • The chart that said it was high was the one in the booklet that came with the scales. Yes the 39.1 is percentage.
  • I am the same height as you and almost the same weight and age. I usually fall into the trap of not logging and eating more junk food when I am at my goal. I find the initial stages of maintenance so tough because it feels like I am still on the 'diet' I am having to try and view the diet changes as permanent but focus on…
  • Mine is very deep and occasionally sweat and dirt can become a bit infected and it gets smelly. I wash well with a cotton bud and mild soap and apply some germolene. That normally sorts it fast.
  • For me, when my body starts to change it can feel a bit scary and uncomfortable. Almost like a protective layer has gone. I feel about right at 140 but got fed up of going up by about 5 pounds when still eating at maintenance so I aimed to lose an extra 7lbs to allow for that initial gain. I have got to about 133lbs now…
  • I had char grilled chicken with calabrese topping. You can have it with a salad instead of mash or chips. I even got in a mini panna cotta with earl grey tea. Too small to do much damage. I think the main was about 500 cals. It was very tasty.
  • I had everything out but my ovaries at age 39. I am now 50 in a couple of months and assumed I was peri due to mood swings, anxiety, hot flushes and dryness plus lack of libido. About November last year, I stopped taking propanolol prescribed for migraine as they were not working anymore. I didn't want to up the dose or go…
  • Fry's 5 centre chocolate cream
  • My stomach actually looks better when I am about 10lbs heavier. I have had several surgeries through one bikini line scar and have a largish sausage shaped lump of scar tissue under the skin. This makes the stomach kind of hang over the scar and is more noticeable when not covered with a layer of fat. I can feel the hard…

  • I'm in. Height 5. 7 Weight on Aug 1st 142.5lbs Due a weigh in on 7th GW 138
  • I thought I found a lump under my arm then realised it was my rib :-)
  • I'm in. I got 7 lbs to lose after 10lbs crept back on after I got slack with my logging. I lost 4 lbs this week but need to stay motivated to lose that last few. Hopefully for good this time. I will keep logging!
  • I am inclined to agree with PeachyPlum that the anxiety may have caused weight to stay off or you to lose easily. With the anxiety in check perhaps you need to lower your daily intake to get the same results. I always lose weight during very stressful periods. Even when eating the same amount probably due to being twitchy…
  • I got rid of my generous clothes after losing for the simple reason that it is less easy to ignore the pounds creeping on if your clothes are a little snug. In the past, I have found it easy to go back to wearing the comfy things and not think about the increasing girth. All my clothes now fit me well. Some felt like they…
  • I had a hysterectomy about 10 years ago with ovaries left. I gained about 14lbs which was mostly due to hardly being able to walk anywhere for about 12 weeks. It was the fourth time through the same scar so everything was tight and painful. I managed to shift it fairly easily with diet and exercise when I was able. I am…
  • My dogs loves a good chew on one. She also enjoys a bulls pizzle.
  • I am 5ft 7.3 and am between 135 and 138 depending on when I weigh myself. I have small wrists and feet (UK 4) but wide hips and rib cage so not sure about frame size. My upper half is bony with ribs visible but still have some flesh on my lower half and sturdy legs. I wouldn't want to be thinner.
  • I made myself some sweet potato and lentil soup. Lovely and filling but then to continue the Halloween orange theme. I had half a tub of Ben and Jerry's pumpkin cheese cake ice cream :D I also ate a little chocolate later on. I just give in to being at the top of my maintenance some days. Not feeling guilty!
  • I had a go on some scales in town that measure body fat and although my BMI is 21, it said my fat mass was 29 percent which is still high according to the machine! I am not even getting into an argument with a machine. I can see my ribs and when I was measured for a bra, I was directed towards the vests! I am a typical…
  • It has taken me nearly 3 months to lose a stone. 20 years ago I most probably could have done it in 6 weeks. However I am less willing to go hungry these days. I find that I am much better able to stick to reduced calories if I don't overdo it. I am 48.
  • I can see mine but just don't lay down fat on my top half. I have been 3 stone heavier and still had very prominent collar bones and have been able to feel my ribs with ease. I am in the middle of my healthy BMI range.
  • 5ft 7.3 I am a UK 10 or sometimes 12. 135.5lbs. I have wide hip bones.
  • Thanks SueinAz. Not sure why they make me so sick.
