I too am back after two years to lose 40lbs again. I gained them all back when I wasn't using MFP and reaching out to the community. I found out that by not having friends on here I was missing out on great motivation and inspiration.

You can add them with the meals you are taking them or create a separate diary category for vitamins and supplements. New diary categories can be added in the Diary Settings

I lost 40 lbs using MFP a couple years back but didn't have the network on here to make it fun and interesting so I gained it all back. Now I am back to lose 40lbs again - maybe even more. Feel free to add.

My diary is open for friends, so you can add me and we can support each other.

I think we all at some point have struggled with confidence and self-worth. Weight loss can seen like an insurmountable tasks, but it is all about the small steps. Showing to yourself that you can lose the weight (which you already have) is a big step. You can do it. We all believe you can. You can add me if you like, I…

Welcome to MFP, Mike. There are plenty of people on here (myself included) to cheer you on, and help out with struggles. All you have to do is reach out. You got this!

I think it is important to take into account the things that this site/app can't measure by numbers. We are working on unlearning our unhealthy habits and learning new healthy ones. We will make mistakes or which we should use as learning opportunities on our way to better health. Strive for progress, not perfection. I can…

Welcome back. The community is great on here and provides great motivation to keep going. Feel free to add me.

Welcome to MFP. Love your determination, and a great goal to have.
-
Welcome back. I have been back for just over a week after over a year of hiatus and gaining back the weight I lost.
-
I agree with everyone on here that changing the mindset is key. The "diet" word is negatively loaded. Thinking of it a lifestyle change instead has helped me. I know if I don't do this, I won't lose and keep the weight off. The community on here is great and once you have a group of supportive active friends you really…

Welcome to MFP. I have used it on and off, but now realized that the only way I am going to lose the weight is if I track what I am doing. There are many helpful and supportive folks on here so feel free to reach out if you need help or have questions.

I am on my second time around on MFP too. This time determined to build up a network of friends for support back to better health and fitness. Feel freed to add me

Welcome to MyFitnessPal.

Thanks for sharing. I agree, that in the beginning having a calorie deficit is probably more important that the distribution of macros. Took me a while to play around with the diary setting to get it set up in a way that works for me. Wish I had known about the community before so I could have come here and get inspiration.

I can highly recommend making a meal plan (for the week) and that should give you an idea of where you are with your calorie intake. If stuff happens... and it will... you can adjust the plan for the day (or the week).
-
People on here are awesome. Some real inspiration to get from the active users, as well as opportunities to contribute to others success if you remain active yourself
-
@1shark1bite Right. I agree. Plus you can enter the meal plan in your food diary ahead of time. Keeps you motivated to stick with it.

@1shark1bite meal planning has definitely helped me. Also creates fewer grocery store runs. Actually our local grocery store delivers orders over $100 so you can order groceries for the week and have them delivered to your door. @tarynbearyn I too failed when I was just tracking. Having the network to interact with…
