there are so many factors that could contribute to your headache so without knowing what kind of food you eat, its hard to say. causes could be: dehydration, unbalanced electrolytes, artificial sweeteners, low calories, etc.

Crossfit is very fun, but very intense. Make sure to join a program with someone is is diligent about getting your form down before adding weights. No one should be rushing you to perform the RX if you can't even squat w/ a full range of motion. I hated lifting at first, but i don't do it because it felt good or because i…

Well sounds like you figured out what works for you. keep on keepin on.

How is your energy? weight-lifting has a way of messing with the scale. if you have started lifting, i would either maintain or slowly increase your cals (maybe by 100) to help fuel your workouts. if you are a NEW (like you haven't lifted ever or in 5+ years) you may put on muscle quicker than an intermediate/advanced…

this is how i felt the first couple of times i tried to eat low carb. that problem was fixed for me when I added more fat into my diet. everybody's body is different tho, carbs are the devil for some (like me) while they play nice with others (like you) consider yourself lucky that carbs are kind to your waistline and if…

^^ this. if you are not 100% committed going in you WILL fail. the first week is hard but once your body regulates to the fat as the main energy source it is very rewarding. no mid-day crashes. better sleep. you can go longer w/out eating and not get grumpy. I really like Jason Wittrock (he has a lot of YT videos that are…

if you are eating at least half an avo a day, your potassium intake should be fine. it's the salt and magnesium i need to supplement. chicken broth and magnesium supplements are amazing. also if you can find dark chocolate w/ no sugar, that's a great source of magnesium as well as spinach.

Diet and exercise. and vitamins. creatine if you want but it's not necessary.

I think it depends. If you end up in a stall, then i would replace some of the calories from cheese with something else (like nuts or avo) and see if you start losing again. When I am consuming large amounts of cheese on keto, I stall. My husband on the other hand can eat a whole block as long as it fits his macros and…

Agreed, unless you are circuit training w/ no rest periods. Average sets of 10 reps don't really get you heart rate up, especially if you rest is over 1 min between sets

It depends how much you have to lose. Someone who has 100+ lbs to lose will need to lose a higher amount of weight before anyone notices (maybe up to 20). I'm guessing once you lose 10 lbs people close to you will start to notice. Also, if you are a new lifter, you will likely gain muscle faster than an…

first off, i still believe every word i posted. the only thing i regret is not having a source for you all to read. my deliverance could have been better but at no point did i admit i was "wrong". I STILL lost weight and had more level consistent energy eating low carb high fat. no other diet has done that for me. I have…

leggings and dresses are amazing. when you lose weight, you can always add a belt to accentuate your waist :) jeans are the hardest

thanks i'll read it

do you have research that proves that protein has the same insulin response as carbohydrates? i thought they were only converted if there wasn't adequate glycogen (which is why you don't overdo protein on keto, because it will kick you out of ketosis). I'm just curious where that comes from? I'd love to read about it from…

this is good advice. I would wait until you hit a stall to lower your calories, you don't want to drop too many too fast.

Ya'll need to read "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. If you want someone to think the way you do, you gotta provide them with a scapegoat and not just tell them they are flat out wrong. Basic psychology :D

goodtroyes, I am sorry for the debate that my comment caused. my intention was not to start an argument and i should have delivered my message through personal experience. next time i claim information, i'll be sure to have research for you and others to fall back on. lowering my carb intake significantly really did work…

While you yourself just added to the debate....LOL

Depends on how you define a "cheat" and how it affects you. If you can have a "cheat" in moderation and get back on your health train then I personally don't see an issue (especially if it isn't stalling your weight loss). For me, if I eat ice cream something really carb heavy i'm often sick the next day and find myself…

Good for you! Definitely don't want to train/eat like you because I am also at my goal weight and am very healthy in all areas of my life as well. My point I was trying to make earlier, do what works for YOU and maybe try not to make your chief aim in life to correct everyone.

When you're in high school, your parents are usually still cooking for you (most parents don't feed their kids top ramen every night). Your metabolism is naturally higher. You aren't working 40+ hours a week at a desk. You're probably more active. Also, like a few others mentioned, you don't feel as compelled to stay trim…

I'm sorry, what are your STATS? Are you healthy? What's your BF? Do you have energy? How's your skin? Your mental health? Should I wake up and eat what you eat and train with you tomorrow? You find ONE thing wrong with ANY statement and state why it's incorrect. Do you really want to be THAT person? Isn't it more…

This is what I should have posted in the first place.

Okay, point taken. I'll be more careful of the words I choose in the future. Thank you for pointing this out in a diplomatic way.

All I recommended was lowering carbs and increasing fats and proteins. I did not once say you can ONLY lose weight restricting carbohydrates. I apologize if it came off that way but it wasn't my intention. better be careful to post my experience here because if the belief isn't popular and widely accepted, it's bound to…

Why is everyone so negative here? Most of us are not registered dietitians and all of the information we choose to believe is done through personal research. I never claimed to know everything, I posted on my experience and what I know works for me. If whatever you're doing works for you, then keep doing it! Don't change…

In addition, some people are more insulin resistant than others. That's why some people can get away with eating higher amounts of carbs than others. This is why some people need to be under 20g net carbs to while others can be at 50g and still be in ketosis.
