  • I think I'm going to write off the entire month of July... I've been struggling with ankle and foot pain for the last couple months and now the back of my left knee has a sharp pain and it's difficult to raise my leg or walk so I'm taking the month and hopefully I'll be back running in August. Good luck all!
  • 4.55km today MTD-8km/45km
  • I have never been to a race but I second the cups...I know how much I sweat and I'd rather not stick my hand into a bowl of something(not just for me but for others) and in regards to the clean up... that's what you get volunteers for if the race directors think it will be an issue. Around here kids need volunteer hours to…
  • Barry's Bay is at 45.4°N sunrise at 5:30 sunset at 9:00... so why can I not find the time to run?! We have another heat spell on our hands so I should really take advantage of the late sunset if I ever expect to make goal this month.
  • Finally!! First run of July, 3.55km/45km Weather has finally cooled, only 18°C. It was a short run but I'm glad I finally got out.
  • Still no run for me yet this month temps in the mid 30°C's all week and high humidity. All the rain has been going around us :(
  • No more runs for me this month, was going to run today but decided to cut my hair instead and tomorrow I'll be playing horseshoes after work. See everyone in July!
  • I didn't make goal last month so I'm dropping back to 45km for the month. We are at the beginning of a 8 day heat wave so not much running for me I'd think.
  • 3.5km tonight, warm but not too bad, slower than I thought I was going but oh well. MTD : 44.5km/60km
  • 6.5km today. I haven't ran since Monday when my phone got soaked...and it hasn't recovered so I guess I'll have to get a new one :( It was a pretty good run, had to stop a couple times and walk but considering I haven't run all week I expected it. MTD 41km/60km I won't make goal this month but that's what happens when you…
  • ~4km tonight, it felt really good, I was going pretty fast(for me) and then I got stuck in a downpour and my phone is now drowned... The worst part is it didn't download my run before shutting down on me so once again I have no proof it happened but I SWEAR IT DID!!! :( it's in a pile of rice right now but I think it's…
  • No run for me today, spent the afternoon splitting wood with the hubby. It was 34°C today - what were we thinking :D tomorrow is supposed to be cooler but raining so we'll see how it goes.
  • Thank you all! I'm glad yous didn't find it offending. I was getting into a bad habit of coming home from work and eating and then running because it's so flipping hot when I get home. And then I'd feel like garbage while I ran. Eating after instead of before has definitely helped.
  • Thanks @Elise4270 I wondered that too. But in case I did upset or offend someone I didn't mean to.
  • I wanna take a second cuz my earlier post was reported as abuse... I am confused as to why it was reported and it was not my intent to upset anyone - especially as I was speaking about myself in the post. I'd just like to clarify that.
  • 4.5km today. Much better run. @ariceroni last run was terrible and today's was good. What did I do to bounce back?... I decided not to eat before I went, which helped(I knew that was a factor). I also physically felt better- my ankle/heel has been bugging me for a while now but not today! I also tried to breathe through my…
  • I also think I'm super slow... I see some of the "easy" paces or the "I'm so slow" posts and think I WISH I COULD RUN THAT FAST! lol I have been seeing improvement but the last couple runs have been trending slower again
  • 4.15km today. Felt terrible the whole time, couldn't get a steady pace going and had to walk a few times. Oh well it'll be a better run next time. MTD 25.7km/60km
  • @Orphia That is AWESOME! Congrats on accomplishing your 2018 goal!... So what's next?
  • @girlinahat it is the same in Canada, they are especially significant (people wear poppies on their coats/shirts) leading up to November 11th--Remembrance Day. There is also the poem In Flanders Fields by Canadian Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae that mentions poppies on the battle fields in Belgium, I'm pretty sure the…
  • 6.5km tonight trying to make up for 4 days off this week. MTD 21.6km/60km
  • Happy global running day all! I did 4.1km today... Wasn't really feeling it, both knees ached a little, even after 2 days off and I felt like my form was all over the place. MTD 15.1km/60km
  • Another 5.5km that this time actually recorded. A little cooler today. MTD 11km/60km
  • @PastorVincent fineeee... I'll just have to do double tomorrow :D... Not really though. I can't run that far... Yet.
  • I am so frustrated right now... Ran around 5.5km this evening, stopped to look at my phone, and the stupid app had paused and said I ran 2km. :# it felt like a good run too. Now I can't upload it to Strava but it did happen I swear ;) MTD 5.5/60
  • 60km this month. May was the first time I've reached (and surpassed) my goal.
  • 4.5km is yesterday, wasn't really feeling it. Rest day today and maybe tomorrow, I've just been feeling beat. Of course this is the most I've run I months so that could be why. MTD 57.9km/40km
  • I also don't think I could go shirtless, too many people I see on a regular basis for that. Hot and humid 26°C 5.3km run this morning MTD 53km/40km ETA: I am a freckled lobster after today's activities... Of course I can look at the sun the wrong way and get a burn.
  • 4.4km last night. Tried to take things slow. MTD 48.1km
  • @7lenny7 awesome race, congrats on hitting your race goal. 6.2km run today. Met my monthly goal already so everything after this is gravy. MTD 43.6km
