Slow (intentionally) run tonight 9.58 miles. I think maybe this is best to go slow and not push myself so hard for now.

heh... so I am house hunting and there is a house we were checking out that is near a park. Well, I asked the local trail running group about the park - and note, I did not say anything about the house (we had not seen it yet). Just asked if they knew if the trails were any good.

Apparently, the trails ARE good, cause they told me to buy the house.

You know we need to find a race together. I'm in Oklahoma, but grew up in the Dallas area. I wanted to do the dam half there in Lewisville but injury got me. You have any local favorites?

ETA @katharmonic oh thanks for sharing that photo! It's not "bad" just what a lazy photographer! Couldn't wait 10 seconds.

@cburke8909 watt up? Was it bright? Lol! eta or were you fending off the blerch? *Heckle heckle*

I love this group. Thanks for making this the best end of month question/social ever! Keep 'em comin' if you got 'em!

@Elise4270 I was raising my fist in the air in triumph after looking at my watch and realizing I'd made my goal, but what an epic fail for a picture. A half second later with my hand fully raised, it might have looked good.

5/1 - 5 mile group speed/track workout, then upper body weights / abs.
    5/2 - Overslept...unplanned rest day.
    5/3 - 4 treadmill miles. Trek Class.
    5/4 - Nada. Again.
    5/5 - 4.75 mile group run.
5/6 - Baseball tournament and yard work.
    5/7 - 5.25 miles.
    5/8 - 4.5 miles.
5/9 - 3.5 treadmill miles, then upper body weights.
    5/10 - 5 miles. Beautiful morning for a run.
5/11 - Pre Relay rest day.
    5/12 - Market to Market Relay. Leg 4 - 4.88 miles, Leg 11 - 4.02 miles, Leg 18 / team finish - 4.13 miles.
    5/13 - Mothers' Day!
    5/14 - Unplanned rest day.
    5/15 - 5 miles.
5/16 - 3.17 miles. Shorter than planned due to too many snooze bar hits.
5/17 - 5 treadmill miles / Trek Class, then upper body weights and abs.
5/18 to 5/21 - Family illness + baseball tournament + well-child visits for kids = no exercise and bad diet. Ugh!
5/22 - 4.8 miles. Muggy out, but nice run.
    5/23 - 4 mile "hill" run.
    5/24 - Unplanned rest day.
5/25 - 4 treadmill miles, then upper body weights and abs.

71/120 (no way will I hit this now)

@Elise4270 Oh, I understand about injury keeping you out of races. Been there, done that too many times.
The Dam Half this year is October 20, which is the exact same day I will be running a 15K in Peachtree City, GA with my twin brother. There aren't hardly any races I do locally. Most of my running pals are out of town, so I usually travel to them. But I suppose there is nothing to say I can't find new, local friends and races :p
I will be on the lookout.

@katharmonic-You definitely win the photo contest. I have had some really bad race photos, but nobody has ever caught me trying to take a drink on the fly. I don't think there is a way to make that look pretty.

@7lenny7- Forgive me for this, but it looks like you are doing a "chicken dance" Ultra!

I went ahead and purchased my photos from Boston last year, the only time I have ever done so, mostly because I wanted the finish line photo. There were a few pre-race photos at that athlete's village and my finishers photo where I am smiling ear to ear, but other than that, every photo looks like this was the most miserable day of my life!
