It's part of my daily routine now so I just don't think about the act of logging itself. So yeah, I'd imagine i'll be logging for the foreseeable future. Think about it this way - 5 minutes per day to log food vs the risk of putting the weight back on. I'll do the 5 minutes.

If your workouts aren't regular use the MFP calories and eat back. If your workouts are regular use TDEE and don't eat back.

Shoes off if my feet are under my desk, shoes on if I have to walk around.

Pfft tell your brother to strap 100 extra lbs on his back and go for a walk... see if he thinks it's exercise then!

This is truth. McDonalds breakfast at least once a week...

There's the important stat, you're a short, small woman. The OP isn't. Don't apply the same reasoning to what is needed for your weight loss to hers (in terms of calorie level) and tell her that 1200 is fine for her. OP - You can lose weight on 1000 calories. You can. You'll lose a lot of muscle though, which means when…

A couple of things: 1. You don't have your diary open, so it's hard for us to assess and therefore help 2. You said you usually have a small thigh gap? Which means you're probably already quite slim, which means the weight should be coming off really slowly 3. If your using bigger ingredients then the margin for error gets…

I'd say the number was about spot on. Though note, that if you jump up to 2400 from your current levels of 1600 you may gain in the first week or so, so give it a month before you decide you're eating too much and go back down.

In, just so I can read all the fun comments later. Also, they don't call it whole-wheat bread so eh. Are we saying that it's bad that they have preservatives and the rest of the shizzle (I really don't care) or bad that they have nitrates (which are in pretty much all the veggies you'll eat - being that it's like…

1200 is the lowest number of calories MFP will give you to eat regardless of your weight loss goal settings. At your weight with so little to lose you want to be looking at 1/2lb per week really. Punching numbers into a TDEE calculator http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/ with an age of 30 (you didn't mention) and activity at…

It's not high. I'm 5"11 and weigh 247lbs (after Christmas :() and my goal is 1960 but with exercise calories/fitbit allocation I usually end up eating 2000-2200. I'm doing alright (see ticker). Try it out for a few weeks, if it's not working lower it (but not by much!) The number will go down as we lose weight but not by…

As many others have said, thank you for sharing. Massive BUMP for when I need reminding :)

This. Because i'm bored at work: TLDR: It's a load of BS with no backing, to be expected from the wonders of DM. The article states that diet drinks make you hungry because they interfere with brain signals blah blah. They don't make me hungry, they fill me up. If they make you hungry, don't drink them. It then quotes the…

The bold part says it all for me. That you think there are limits on your imagination shows how poor your imagination is.

I swim. Try swimming behind someone drenched in perfume/cologne. Not only can you smell it, but you can taste it too!

For those advocating that you 'feel better' eating 'cleaner' - I sure as hell didn't. It made me grumpy and miserable not to mention sluggish and (surprisingly) bloated and just generally pants! I don't eat clean and I don't like the word 'junk food' - food is food. I eat whatever I fancy at the time - as long as it fits…

In simple terms: BMR: The number of calories your body uses just to stay alive i.e. breathing etc... TDEE: Your BMR + calories allocated for daily activity. Essentially your maintenance number. To lose weight you could either: Take your TDEE number and minus 10-20% depending on the rate you want to lose OR you could punch…

I think like the above poster said it works out at like 10 extra calories a day for a month.... WOO! Well done though. I had to cancel my last appointment due to low iron levels :(

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be off (I think) - I may still log just for curiosity sake, but I don't care what the numbers will be. I usually have Bonfire night off (Nov 5th) but my grandparents didn't have a party this year :( so no yummy goodies.

Female at 5"11 here and people have always told me I didn't look as big as I weigh, started off at 21 stone. I'm aiming for 12 stone, to get me into the healthy BMI numbers but will stop earlier if necessary. Currently about to hit the 17's and still look the same as 21 (to me anyway!!).

You can want it for him to the moon and back. He has to want it for himself for him to make any meaningful progress. Just continue on your path and hope that he joins in at some point.

Money - the fun is for after work. That said, if you TRULY hate it - it's not worth if. I it's alright and you're good at it. Keep going.

Also from England - And my penny's worth. I don't like it when the NHS provides treatment for alcoholism or smoking or drug abuse. I don't like it that the NHS provides treatment for preventable sports related injuries. The cost of knee replacements, liver transplants, dialysis, rehab, drug subsititues, stop smoking…
