  • I finished my second jog today. I did my brisk walk at 3.8 and my jog was at 4.8. I really need good music to do this. Music that is going to keep my mind off of what I am doing...I wanted to stop a few times, looking at the time hoping I would be done soon, but I did it! It has definitely not been easy for me...it's been…
  • What's the longest time you've been able to jog?? I say, stick with that for like three days and increase 5 mins to it the following week. You may be behind some of us, but you are ahead from others... YOU ARE NOT STUCK! Regardless of where you are right now, you are in this process with all of us and we are going to…
  • Welcome!! We are excited to see you here and if support is what you need, just as Taylor said, you've come to the right place! Any questions or concerns you may have, feel free to post them. Just as I mentioned on the main page when I created tthis group, we are not professionals, but, we've either "been there-done that",…
  • Uh yeah... I used to do cardio Mon, Wed, Fri and strength train on Tues and Thurs. I had stopped because, though I was losing inches, I became frustrated with the numbers on the scale going up! :noway: This week I decided to do the weight training again and I did it right after I did 30 mins of the C25K... I guess I messed…
  • I am soooo upset with myself!!! Today should've been my last day of Week 5 but I can barely walk...MY LEGS ARE A MESS!!! I really hope my muscles are doing better tomorrow, otherwise, I will have to repeat Week 5 again. Ugh!!!!
  • By the way lohitverma, I can see you're losing weight already! The difference in your face is quite noticeable! Good job!!!! :drinker:
  • I'm loving it!!! It's easier to keep track of and I'm soo happy to see that I'm able to run for 5 mins! (Maybe even more if I tried!!) BUT! I did the program yesterday AND some strength training and my legs today ARE KILLING ME!!! Hopefully, I'm able to run tomorrow...I would hate not being able to do so after…
  • First of all, I would talk to my doctor about it. Also, have you ever considered starting at a slower pace first? I understand you're naturally a fast-paced person (I am too!) but sometimes, if you haven't practiced or been consistent with a particular activity (especially a physical one like this one), it may take…
  • This is such a great idea, Taylor! I was browsing the internet and came across a few quotes I thought I could share with y'all: "You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to…
  • Welcome!! We're glad you're here with us because quite frankly, we all have (or have had) some type of struggle when it comes to running. But the important step is to get up and do something about it and you have given that first step. Make sure you consult your doctor about this and the arthritis in your knees...you don't…
  • I hope so too, but if you can't, don't stress it either; You've been doing such an amazing job!! :flowerforyou: My second run on Wed was by far the best! Today was my third and honestly, I was looking forward to be done! I didn't get much sleep last night and waking up early to jog is not something a body is actually…
  • What can I say?! I am surprised and proud of myself! I never thought I would be jogging for 5 whole mins. one day but I did it...a few times! I do have to have good music to be able to run without focusing on how much time I have left. My greatest challenge has been keeping up with the constant changes... 1 1/2…
  • I don't think that weighing ourselves while doing this type of excercise is very helpful. I as well have apparently gained about 2-3 lbs. I feel great though, and many people have approached me asking me what have I been doing because they can tell I've been losing weight. Do y'all know how much our leg muscles are…
  • Hey guys! I'm sooo proud and happy to read your success stories. For some reason my legs are beginning to hurt...alot. I've increased my jogging speed to 5.5, and maybe this is not doing them any good. Though, my breathing has become much better and I feel more comfortable jogging for a longer period of time, I'm afraid my…
  • I finished my last session for week 2 today...I feel soooo good!!! I'm so proud of all of you and how you guys have mnaged to go at your own pace, without getting discouraged, and most importantly without getting injured!! Let's keep it that way, shall we? The fastest speed for me has been 5.5. Hmm... I might take…
  • Woohoo!!! Sometimes we don't even know our own strength! You're doing great! Keep it up! :flowerforyou:
  • I'm soo happy to read all of your stories! :drinker: Pretty soon we'll be all be doing this more because of the way it makes us feel, not merely because it's helping us lose weight! It'll be our stress-reliever and our ticket to being and feeling healthier, happier and more energetic! Great job y'all!!! Soo…
  • I'm doing it Mondays, Weds, and Fridays. Today will be my 3rd day.. I feel more energetic and kinda "free". I was able to increase my speed on Wed. I always to try to "push" myself to do a little more but I'm in no hurry. If I do more than the previous workout, great! Otherwise, I'm still heading in the right direction…
  • It did! Thank you so much! :drinker:
  • WOW! So many good outcomes with online dating! I guess it's just me... ;-/
  • Thanks! I found a few races held in this area that I'm actually considering to join!

  • Have you ever tried getting your foot fitted? I've read of a few people doing that and getting a shoe to fit their feet specifically. I just went to Foot Locker and got me some Nike's "Running Shoes". I like them.

  • I did 30 mins of the program, but only because I told myself (before committing to this challenge) that each workout would be of at least 30 mins each time. First, I did about 3 mins of walking until I felt comfortable at a speed of 3.5 Then, I jogged for 90 secs at a 4.5 of speed I alternated that jog with 60 secs of walk…
  • I realized today that the beat for "DJ got us falling in love again" by Usher, goes aprox. 3.5! You can use that as a "reference point" to see if you're going slower or faster than 3.5. JUST AN IDEA! Because I'm not sure if one can be able to know the speed one's going at, if it's not being displayed for us…
  • Sounds good to me! Keep up the great work!
  • Cool! I need to start doing a little research and see if there's any of those in my area!

  • Take it easy (I remember when just WALKING used to hurt!). Go at your own pace and you will get there. Good luck!!!
  • Wow, this is awesome guys!! I used to be a runner but I started having kids and allowed my weight to get in the way. I became sick physically and mentally. Running does not only make you feel in control of your body, it makes you feel in control of your life! Let's do this!!!! It's going to be a fun and memorable…
