  • Please reconsider taking them. Sometimes the damage they do to your body doesn't show up until years later. How about getting decent measuring cups, a food scale, and measuring spoons. Honestly weigh, measure and log your foods. Drink water. Stay away from processed food and drink, get plenty of rest and exercise…
  • Sounds crazy but my doctor said "don't eat white at night". Examples: bread, potatoes etc. you aren't cutting it totally out of your diet just at night. Seems to be working for me lately
  • Ok, so at 1 gram of protein for every pound. So how do I convert ounces of protein to grams to figure out how many ounces to weigh out?
  • go to their web site and start planning now. That way you can plan out your calories for the entire day around the meal. I often put dinner in first and build back from that.
  • excellent progress!
  • A person can not live on 1000 calories a day for very long eventually you will binge. The minimum ANYONE should ever eat is 1200 and thats without the exercise that you are doing. Your body is probably in "starvation mode" and holding on to everything you eat. Please reconsider your diet. Eat as close to the hoof, ground…
  • I make my own. I just cant stand the idea of all the preservatives in my food.
  • Yup. Arthritis in knees. Really stinks. Limits what I can do. But I kept trying things, slowly, until I found something I can do and enjoy doing that doesnt hurt. Now, occasionally i do hurt but not all the time. Im a much more happy camper than I used to be.
  • Earlier this week I threw together this. 1 Pkg bay scallops, in frypan with a bit of coconut oil. Saute until white. added a can of diced tomatoes, a few spices, a little water to thin some mushrooms (only had canned in house). and put it over Shirataki noodles. My husband doesnt like the Shirataki noodles so I put his…
  • Yup sure do....and at my age I was blown away! I kind of take it as a compliment. But it saddens me to know that these people wouldnt have given me a second look a year or so ago. Their loss, Im the same person now as I was then....just healthier. BTW, I married my guy 38 years ago...hes been with me through thick and…
  • It is hard. If you have a weight problem it will always be a challenge. A few suggestions, eat less processed food...whole foods take longer to digest. Drink more water....sometimes thirst can be seen as hunger. Find something to do with your hands besides eat.....crochet, knit, paint you nail....whatever. Go find an…
  • Im going to log my food for the day but if I go over no biggie. Im not going to stress about it either way. Enjoy the day with family and friends. Its only one day.
  • If you have a smoker you could trim the fat and smoke it. Once its cooked you can cut it to the serving portions you want and freeze it. We do it all the time and have it as lunch meat, add to shirataki noodles, throw it into soups, etc.
  • I have a couple go to lunches... I make my own Shrimp Salad and use salza as the dressing. I also like the Shirataki noodles with about anything on them and a bit of some type lean protein
  • We love it at our house also. We are lucky enough to live near where they grow it and we snagged a 50 lb box of it on the last day of the season.....I blanched and froze so much that we will have it all winter. Anyhow, all we do is spray it with olive oil pam sprinkle some Mrs. Dash original over it and bake it until its…
  • I never have cereal for breakfast. It just doesn't stay with me. I also try to eat protein with every meal so that lets cereal out. BUT, I have to admit that I have craved it so what I did was for a couple days I got some Corn Flakes and some Cheerios and had them for my afternoon snack with nonfat milk. I did measure them…
  • Lately I've been eating 5 meals a day. Do what works for you but stay withing your calories. If you are having troubles staying within your calories change your profile to lose less each week. Supposedly a person is supposed to eat every 2-3 hours to keep the blood sugar up and everything moving along. I don't usually make…
  • Hi from California! Good luck with MFP! I have used it over a year...but seriously, about a year. It took me a few months to get the hang of it and also stay within the calorie limit! I was shocked with the amount of calories that I had been eating before I was on MFP. No wonder I gained so much weight. I don't know if it…
  • I did it. Am I supposed to post the amount of what I do or the time i did it or just that I did it?:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • Not in Ft. Bragg but in California is that close enough? Also, not married to active duty anymore but he's retired. So....did you work out today??? I did and I did it with 6 kids.
  • Welcome back to the fold. Have you tried water aerobics? It may help since you injured your foot. I had knee problems and went that route for a while.
  • Im working my way out of a slump right now. Do Not Give Up! The last time I gave up I gained almost 150 before I got my act together. This time I've been fighting the same 4 lbs for a month. And I will keep fighting those same 4 lbs again and again if it means I don't have to start all over again. I still have about 50 lbs…
  • Used to be I was the same way as you. I decided that if I was going to have a sweet it wouldn't just be any sweet. It would be something premium. You know, those sweets you go to a special shop for that you cant get at the regular grocery store. I also found that once I cleaned up my diet and stopped all the junk food that…
  • I think they are from skinny girl. I make them too. To boost the fiber I use whole wheat noodles. Served with a side salad, another veggie and a bowl of fruit one serving is great!
  • Girlfriend, you are right where the person at the gym wants you to be....they are selling something....they want you to feel like ****. Then they can sell you personal training at probably over $40 a session. Relax. Have you been losing? How do you feel? Think long and hard about it. Personally, I would be askin for my…
  • I cant tell you how many times my buddies have gotten my butt moving! I have some real faithful friends here and like you appreciate it a lot!
  • I used to find it odd but after thinking about it I don't anymore. People who know and love us have their own wants and needs and tend to project them on others. Here on the forum we all have the same want and need and to an extent project the same on everyone else here.
  • I live on 1280 and that is to only lose 1 1/2 lb a week. First adjust what you want to lose to less a week and get used to eating that much and then taper down for bigger losses weekly. You probably need to educate yourself a bit about food and nutrition. Get a decent food scales and learn what nutirents your body needs.…
  • Dont just ask for the manager. If it is a chain find out who the CEO is and write him/her a letter. What that salesperson said was downright rude. If they don't make the item in that size then that is what should have been said. If they don't carry it that is all that should have been said. Not a comment on what they think…
  • Love these noodles! I can now find them in regular grocery stores besides whole foods. The macaroni shape has a pretty good mac and cheese recipe on it. Today for lunch I made the spaghetti ones with some tomato sauce, mushrooms and TVP and had a meatless lunch! Last weekends Hungry Girl show on the food network had a…
